Strange, mishandled fantasy racism (sometimes with black people)! Apple gel! A just-dreadfully nonexistent villain group that shows up 70 hours in before dying!

I love JRPGs 🥹 #FinalFantasyIII #CawfeeFantasy

As a replacement, today at 12:00 Noon PST, I'm just doing my easy fall-back game of Aladdin for SNES, the only platformer I have ever mastered. Come see me do it again! unlabelledView post →FINAL FANTASY III Despite being a fan for 25 years I first played this one in 2021 with the Pixel Remaster. My feelings are similar to that of FFI: short and sweet and surprisingly good (relatively speaking). This game introduces the iconic job system, which would later be bettered in FFV.

unlabelledView post →That's the Final Fantasy III platinum done! 🥹❤️ For most of my life, I hated this game, based purely on the unforgiving NES and DS versions. But now, thanks to the Pixel Remaster... I finally love it! I might even appreciate getting the Crystal Tower raids in the FFXIV roulette every day, too 😅

Sharing my full walkthrough: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL957yPFpIoy_CEkaAuMfuE3cpzd_7RjlX&si=qzNXlGREjUswsSa7 Summary: Final Fantasy III follows four orphaned youths from a quiet village who stumble upon a mystical crystal of light. This crystal grants them magical power and reveals that the balance of the world is collapsing: light and darkness, which must exist in harmony, are dangerously out of sync. Chosen as the Warriors of Light, the four heroes set out to restore the…

unlabelledView post →Like the first two games, Final Fantasy III delivers a solid 8-bit era JRPG experience. The pixel art is great, the locations are interesting, and the soundtrack is amazing. The story is simple and very similar to the previous games, though it does introduce a few new mechanics. I was glad to see the progression system from FF2 gone in favor of traditional hero levels and job levels. That said, I found the job system to be almost a nonfactor during my playthrough. Once I unlocked the Black…

A now integral part of the Final Fantasy series, and while the second installment experimented with a new progression system, Final Fantasy III instead goes all in on the job system first introduced in the original game just three years prior. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just finished Final Fantasy III, and it was an incredible journey. This game is the foundation of the series' famous Job System, and it’s still as addictive as ever. The Pixel Remaster version is stunning—the rearranged soundtrack is a masterpiece, and the pixel art is vibrant and full of life. It’s a challenging but fair adventure that every JRPG fan should experience. Highly recommended!

unlabelledView post →It was a long time since I last got to play FF3. Like, almost 2 decades ago on the DS. I barely remembered anything about it other than it being "aggressively mid," and if you asked me at any point before playing the Pixel Remaster, that's how I would have described FF3; aggressively mid. I genuinely did not remember the game being this bad, jfc There is SO MUCH wrong with this game, such as: - Needing to Mini/Frog yourself to get into MULTIPLE dungeons - Having to switch everyone to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My next stop in my Final Fantasy journey took me to Final Fantasy III. FF3 was another step forward for me, as I feel like they FF3 continued to expand on the first two games and add more interesting features and elements to FF3. For starters, the job system in FF3 is a very nice addition to the game, I was not the biggest fan of the leveling system in FF2, so the change to the job system was a nice one for me. I really like how many different types and options of jobs there are, as this…
