54 of 54 · most liked firstIf you never played Betrayal at Krondor, that is a game that STILL holds up today. Funny thing is that I was already a fan of Raymond E. Feist when I found out Betrayal at Krondor exists, but for many, it also served as an entry point into Feist's novels.

unlabelledView post →Betrayal at Krondor is a gem, both the game and the book (which I think after the basic Riftwar quartet is really the other Feist book in the series that is a must-read. It’s really book 4.5 in some ways) There are a couple of Let’s Plays. Kikoskia’s is top notch www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehgs...
unlabelledView post →Ooo In no particular order: Magician/Midkemia by Raymond E Feist (despite this already being a game from the 80s) Pirates of the Dark Water Wasteland, the post apocalyptic CRPG series
unlabelledView post →Gotham score but Sam Kerr was offside and screening Marissa Jordan. She clearly can't see with the late reaction on a slow rolling shot. Back to 2-1 and Cooper is entering the game for White (Feist on for DiBernardo). #KCBaby
unlabelledView post →the original trilogy were written around a D&D campaign if you liked them, the Magician books by Raymond Feist were written in the same style - notes from a D&D game the Belgariad by David & Leigh Eddings are a similar story/ structure as well not very deep, but reading should be fun
unlabelledView post →BaK, terrible? I don't think so, certainly not for 1993, but I never read the books and I know Feist had little involvement with BaK specifically. Most of the skills in that game actually DO something.
unlabelledView post →90s VIDEO GAMES BASED ON NOVELS Betrayal at Krondor (PC) by Raymond E. Feist Though the 1993 game offered a new story intertwined with the novels, Feist eventually adapted the plot in the novel Krondor: The Betrayal. He did the same for the 1998 sequel. #gaming #videogames #retrogames #booksky

unlabelledView post →Adapt Raymond E. Feist’s Riftwar series. Picture Game of Thrones, except not nearly as dense, way more fun (pretty sure there are exactly zero rapes) and spanning a couple hundred years or so. I’ll also note that in the same span GRRM has taken between books, Feist released TWELVE Riftwar novels.
unlabelledView post →Thank you, Megan! 15. Review and recommend a book This goes back to me not being above popular books, but I just think anyone who liked Ender's Game, Dune, LOTR, Hunger Games, the Chronicles of Prydain, or any Raymond E. Feist should read Red Rising by Pierce Brown
unlabelledView post →This second round of MLB All Star Game voting is going to yield America's biggest rejection of Canadian preferences since Feist released the follow-up to the "1234" song.
unlabelledView post →I'm sure you played the games back in the day like I did. Give the books the right treatment with today's video game styles could be stunning. The trick, to me, is for Feist to have complete creative control over it. No game studio heads rushing it out, live updates, etc. A complete, polished game.
unlabelledView post →Bethune with a counterattack but she's down at the end of the play. Feist was just about to return from injury and come on for her. Hopefully she's just gassed. Rouse also coming on Sentnor. Right back for a striker to kill off the game. #KCBaby

unlabelledView post →Betrayal at Krondor back in 1993 (afair). That was kinda first open-world rpg I played. Wonderful experience, read through all R.E.Feist books later on (the game was based in Midkemia, a world created by Feist). Still hard to cope with the fact that SPOILER Gorath sacrifices himself at the end...
unlabelledView post →The suck fairy is always waiting to spoil earlier reads, alas. Maybe they hold up. I don't know. I started reading Feist, back then, because of the video game Betrayal at Krondor
unlabelledView post →Oh wow. I hadn’t thought about Feist in ages. All I remember is noticing that the magic system seemed to be out of dnd, and that the video game bored me compared to bg1. Which is impressively little considering I read a LOT of those.
unlabelledView post →Raymond E. Feist's Midkemia novels were inspired by his friends' D&D game. Betrayal at Krondor, a critically acclaimed computer RPG of the early 1990s was set in Midkemia, and became canon when Feist wrote a novelization of it. Some of the Midkemia novels were also adapted into comic books.
unlabelledView post →10 OFF-THE-BEATEN-PATH #VIDEOGAMES (Dec 25) 4. Betrayal at Krondor (1993) This turn-based RPG introduced me to the Raymond E. Feist Midkemia books and was one of the first CRPGs I played from start to finish. Its fusion of 3D environments and digitized characters is dated, but the game's still fun
unlabelledView post →For sure, I read a lot as a kid. Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, Redwall books, Narnia, Raymond E Feist, Neal Stephenson, Anne McCaffrey's dragonriders, Tolkien, Harry Potter, Altered Carbon, Enders Game, Max Berry. Reading seems like a dying habit these days though. I can't even keep up with podcasts
unlabelledView post →1/2025 6. Raymond Feist. Magician: Apprentice. Wanted to read this for decades because of the 1993 Betrayal at Krondor PC game which impressed the hell out of young me. Better than I expected. Pug is a very good boy, even though he is not a dog.
unlabelledView post →I prefer audiobooks and long series. Can recommend Phillip C Quaintrell Echos series which I'm listening too now but also love the Tony Mancour and Raymond E Feist books. Also the Game of Thrones audio books are so much more than the films!
unlabelledView post →To be fair, Feist (who I love) was also always very open about how the early Midkemia novels were based on his & his friends’ game but it very quickly moved past that…and also he still wrote a more conventional high-fantasy story and didn’t write his own game characters into it.

It can go on your list in the proper order UNLESS you also love(d) Ender's Game, any Raymond E. Feist, the Chronicles of Prydain, the Hunger Games, Game of Thrones, Star Wars, Star Trek, and/or Dune.

They’ve shown they have short memories this season. Prokop comes in for Feist on D. Ungar has the start. He’s 6-0 with a 1.32 GAA & .955 sv%.
unlabelledView post →Back to the trade: I’d consider this a “future considerations” trade because unless I’m mistaken Feist didn’t play at all - if he did, it was a game, maybe two.
