This is THE version of the game to get if you prefer smaller fields and machines as all of the games hereafter increasingly focus upon large scale farming, and 19 on wards branches into management, building, terrain manipulation etc. My best description for this is Old Reliable.

My general stance is if it has a date on it, it expires with in a year. However it is farming so may not be as bad. Just go ask the fans to see what is currently the best game. Because lets face it, the guy who has every game can tell you what versions are the best. So thumbs down as warning you have to shop for the best version, unless you want to sink in hundreds of dollars.

My only gripe is that it does not have a lot of content and equipment as compared to later games, but it is still an excellent game you should not pass up.

But boy is this fun to play. It's a trade-off you have to make. A lot of quality-of-life features from newer versions are missing. On the other hand, it's very easy to get in to. There is not as much to worry about as in newer versions. It's a simpler version, and I like that.
