The combat system is rubbish, once you are about level 10 you can one shot everything except for the bosses. There is no real side quests. Just run boss to boss to boss. The first game you had the request board, upgrades for the guildhall and relationship stories. This game doesn't really have anything. I'm going to finish it as it was a gift and i love fairy tail but i would not recommend buying it.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The quality of the game is clearly a lot better than the first game. Sadly I cannot recommend the game because it took the amazing battle system of the first game and replaced it with a pseudo action button smasher system. Any hint of depth or strategy is gone. Also you give us the biggest cast ever and we can never control more than one character. This is so dumb, it hurts
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First Of all Don't listen to the negative reviews saying this is a step back from 1st game, by no means is it a step back.. I see soo many reviews Crying that the Turn Based Style of 1st game was better because it was more strategic? No it was not at all, There was literally no strategy involved, Buffs/debuffs did not matter enough as they did not give enough of a boost or debuff towards the enemy to be worth using, you would just spam ur strongest move over and over again. In this game If…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My 50th physical PS5 game: Fairy Tail 2! Gust did a good job with the first game, and I'm expecting more of the same.

unlabelledView post →The whole game mechanic was changed. The first game was a true turn-based JRPG, and you could control up to 5 characters, which made the game amazing as it had many strategies. In this one, you can control one character at a time, and it's "smash" the button for only one character.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Youve got to me fking joking me, ive spent 115 dollars on this dog game just for the gameplay to be absolutely doggy doodoo , and for me not to get all the upcoming dlc??? 45 dollars for the outfits is fking insane. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME I REPEAT DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Maybe next time they will actually take their time and make their upcoming game good just like Final Fantasy remake and rebirth.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh dear, this is such a disappointment. If I had known the battle system would be this much worse than the first game I absolutely wouldn't of bought it. Now unfortunately I've played it too long to refund. Do yourself a favour and skip this trash, its just a button basher; you have this huge roster of characters but you only control 1 at a time. The others auto fight. Ergh.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First game was MUCH better. the models in this game felt cheap, the facial expressions were awful. the weird smiles they have especially Erza were just wrong and creepy and unappealing. This game has less playable characters. and is just overall less enjoyable. and the censorship is even worse than the first game. the outfits and costumes are non existant in this game. in the first game you could have an entire beach theme team, in all bikini's and trunks etc. this game got more DEI/Censored.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beat the game in 40 hours or so, 100% achievements. I really enjoyed the combat and how many moves the characters unlocked, but everything else was mid or just flat out bad. If you are a die hard fairy tail fan, get it on sale. If you are just looking for a JRPG to sink your teeth into, look somewhere else.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The entire game feels like a huge step back from the original. The combo attacks are barely cohesive, the animations for some of the attacks are super janky, and the whole lacrima system is super dumb. Also its ridiculously easy, and if you just fight a lot of the early mobs and do the area bosses as you find the, the actual story is a cakewalk. Even the cutscenes are jankier than the original. I thought this was gonna be higher budget and flashy and cool, but most of it is just recycled…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game is fun but way too pricey greedy KOEI like always
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far all cutscenes are showing as a blackscreen with just the subtitles showing it's making the game unplayable bc it won't load unless you skip, if this doesn't get resolved in 24 hours I'm going to refund the game. Over a 100 bucks spent and I can't even play the game on a 4090, 16 core cpu very disappointed. I tried the application controlled thing on the Nvidia control panel and I'm still having the black screen problem.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →⚔️ FAIRY TAIL 2 - A Mixed Bag of Magic What I Played: As a huge Fairy Tail fan who 100%-ed the first game, I jumped into FAIRY TAIL 2 full of excitement. I poured hours into the game, eagerly diving into the new storyline and hoping for an improved experience. The Good: The combat mechanics remain as enjoyable as the first game, allowing you to unleash those signature Fairy Tail spells with style. I found myself experimenting with different character combinations to pull off some epic moves.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Good: + Much better graphics than the first game + Much larger open world + Better skill/attack animations + Good music The Bad: - Missing story, including missing characters - lots of animations, interactions or effects aren't there and instead happen offscreen or are "conveniently" obscured by the character's bodies - combat is mind numbing, just mash buttons and then press a different button - many attack animations are super long and can neither be disabled nor skipped - you are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →down grade from the first game, dlc price are outrageous $15 for a single character in a offline game is awful. i would be hesitant to but all 3 for $15. not to mention $50 for outfits
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a fan of Fairy Tail myself, i'm disappointed but it's no surprise considering it's made by Koei Tecmo, if they had made the efforts like they did for the Nioh games, we would have something bigger and greater. Firstly, Fairy Tail isn't for everyone, it's the common and generic "friendship wins over everything" which can be kind of annoying and it has that transgender cancer added onto it but to keep it short, the greatest Fairy Tail strengths are: 1. Its music with celtics roots. 2. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was VERY disappointed. Ill keep it short but I've replayed the first game EASILY 6 times from start to finish. I was excited as hell for the second game and everything i loved about the first game they changed for the second. All they had to do was ad the arc and MAYBE some QOL stuff. they changed the combat too. i guess they thought it would make it more interactive. it was some weird combo of TB and RT and it does NOT gel well. i still want to play the Zeriff arc.....but not like this
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The only reason I say no, has nothing to do with the game. I genuinely enjoy the game. But dropping $50 DLC right after release that's no included in the season pass is ridiculous.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fairy Tail 2 is a 'Professional Game Journalist's' worst nightmare. The game is TOP HEAVY if you know what I'm saying; no black paint there and the game also presents a fun challenge that would bring the critics of today to their knees. The gameplay is satisfying, the story is compelling and well written and above all else there is a solid end game and a fistful of attractive outfits for people that complete the base game alone. Gotta give major props to Koei Tecmo for slowly returning to…

unlabelledView post →it feels as if they took everyting people enjoyd from the 1st game ... and didnt put it in this one ontop of that the ui feels clunky and slow the forced switching between characters feels like a annoyance rather then a mechanic and the fights are just not fun
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you want a good fairy tail game go play the first one. If you want to experience the war arc go watch or read it. If you want this combat system go play Final Fantasy 12 it has a substantially better version and it looks better despite coming out 2006.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the first game a lot but unfortunately this one is such a downgrade that I can't even recommend it to fans. But if you're interested, the first game is definitely worth a look
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- Braindead lazy ass button smasher combat system - Less characters than the previous game - anime accuracy sends regards - recicled animations from the first game - what in the actual ♥♥♥♥ are theese lame DLC prices?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is somewhat decent but not for full price. Get it on a 20-30% sale. Neutral reviews don't exist which makes it difficult to speak for or against it. +character design +combat is like Ryza but slightly enhanced (it kinda depends on your preference, its not my favorite design but its fine) +story is decent but it feels rushed +Brandish is waifu +good loading times (about 1 second usually) +they kept the original comedy scenes +OST & voice acting +Great unlockable post-game outfits…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game right now, needs a massive update. Also the combat isn't like the first one, which heavily damaged the experience. And lastly, the unison raids in this game feels cheap in comparison of the first.

unlabelledView post →Horrible sequel. You need to beat the game to open the DLC. Constant crashes on Steam Deck (verified). Hard to believe Gust did this. They can do so much better. Believe the bad reviews. The world is awful to explore. Just pointless mobs. Never ending boss fights. No side content.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if ur a fan of fairy tail seriously get this game it has alot of extra canon content as hiro himself worked on this game with tons of cool interactions with characters.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am currently at chapter 4, will update once I am finished. CONTAINS SPOILERS I'm enjoying the game so far but I don't think I could recommend it for it's current price. The graphics are a step up from the old game and I personally enjoy the new combat system on its own (I do miss the old combat system but taken as a separate entity I find it fun). I would be okay with the small playable cast if more characters showed up in the game such as major characters likes Freed or Bisca. For a game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was extremely hyped about this game coming out. Especially since Fairy Tail 1 was beautiful, gameplay was fun, with a lot of room to strategise etc. I really really wanna like this game, but has been super hard. Before even talking about the gameplay, which is a BIG downgrade from the first game. The performance is horrendous, game keeps crashing, so make sure you save regularly. The gameplay as some other reviews have stated, is what you'd expect on a mobile game, and you can only control 1…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BIG THANKS to @koeitecmoeurope for providing a review code for Fairy Tail 2 As one who recently got into the series, and became a fan This was an honour! Hope you’re keen for my review of this, among also the first Fairy Tail game sometime next year 👆🔥 #FAIRYTAIL2 #PS5Share
unlabelledView post →Small Edit right here just to say that im a massive Fairy tail fan as im currently buying all dvd/manga/manga massive and as you can see both games with the first one beeing way better while this one is a huge dissapointment. Not worth the full price. Dont by it unless its on discount just like the first game even 20€ is still the max you should pay for a game like this. I cant believe that it took 4 years to put out a game that has worse graphics than games from 2016 hell it even looks…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This graphic with $59.99-114.99 is totally full of joke, reminded me when PS3 released, is that suitable for the game from Dec. 2024??? So Disappointing!!! Points: 4/10 and 55/100

unlabelledView post →Way too many flaws with the game and the port to justify the purchase of 60 dollars.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not saying this game is "bad", but it can't compare with the first one. The combat system is a bit messy and unfortunately there isn't many side quests. Still, it's a good game and a must-play for any Fairy Tail fans.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is awesome so far. people crying for the sake of crying.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wait until there is a sale. Not worth $60. Okay so far but not great
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After trying the game for the first few hours it was a disappointment for me, i have played and enjoyed the previous game but this one is a downgrade from the previous one and worst combat system. Combat system feels like a fast forward mobile game where you don't know who is attacking who and what is attacking what? i even started the game with the maximum difficulty "Ragnarok" i expected some challenges where i will need to grind and build up the character but it was so easy where battles…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a game. Seems to run pretty smoothly on the Steam Deck on standard settings.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first one was good, this is ♥♥♥♥. So dissapointed, do better. And the DLC prices? What the hell....game is a total rip off.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if you are a fan of the anime i would say get it but wait for a sale as i completed it fairly quickly within 32hrs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Starting off I fell off from Fairy Tail for a long time, I stopped on the Fairy Tail Zero Arc and just couldn't get back into it. When I learned they were bringing out RPG's I decided to give it another shot to see if it would rekindle that fire of the series. I'm surprised to say that playing the first game was very enjoyable, even though it was limited at the time. So let's get to talking about the sequel. I've only just started and personally, as a fan of Turn Based RPG's, I'm…

unlabelledView post →I really enjoyed first one 100% it, so i was looking forward to this game, but i made stupid mistake didnt check gameplay for this game. This is PERSONAL preference, i dont like this gameplay, either do action or turn based, not this weird mix, MAYBE one day i will enjoy this gameplay but NOT TODAY.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game, but Koei Tecmo needs to hire people that can make a good PC port man. There is no reason why I had to fight the final boss at 18 and lower FPS. That's just horrid optimization
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Much better then the first Game, i really love the new Combat-system. Erza is best!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i cant save the game it keep saying save failed
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fairy Tail 2's latest trailer previews a new original game story "Key to Hidden Secrets" as well as Character Stories!
unlabelledView post →Fairy Tail 2 is, in my opinion, a clear improvement over Fairy Tail in terms of gameplay mechanics. However, like the first game, I wouldn’t consider it a replacement for the anime or manga, as there are differences, inconsistencies, and missing important characters. I enjoyed this sequel more overall, mainly thanks to the combat system. I know some players dislike it, but for me it felt more dynamic and engaging compared to the turn-based style of the first game. Another big improvement is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was looking forward to this game because it was supposedly not turn based like the first game, but it still sorta is. It's not traditional turn based but it's definitely not live, open battles. It's very basic and repetitive and not worth the asking price (let alone the ridiculous prices of the DLC costumes).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Compared to the first one, its flows a little better. Less fetch quest and less hunting down people to chat. The downside is that the game is really light. It was gutted of all the fillers from the first game. Not much of an endgame when you finish. Theres at about 10 side quests for the locals. The filler of the game is hanging at a fire and watching backstories of the cast that you earn from leveling. I wouldnt recommend this game until after season pass content is done and more things to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sooo i've got this game since i played the first game and like the manga And there are a couple of things i don't like. (that already said, as you can see, positive review, the game isn't bad by all means.) to just list the negatives since the people hardly care for positives: -censored. Manga wasn't censored, anime wasn't why is this? if it's for the fsk12, go for 18 no 12 year old plays this game anyways, they usually play gta and stuff, games that are for 18+ (which is pretty ironic...)…
