60 of 63 · most liked first"Escape the Lost Game: The Forgotten Ending" I find it really unfortunate I can't in good conscience recommend this game. Visually, it's quite a nice looking low res. casual game, it's fully voiced, and even has a decent adventure/hidden object mix. And it's about one of my favorite subjects, ancient Egypt, to boot. Why can't I recommend it then? Easy. The ending chapter isn't included. Apparently it was part of a Collector's Edition not available on Steam. Normally that's not much of a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short (around 2h), but very cute game and very enjoyable for people that are fans of both Egyptian culture and indie games. The graphics and the story are nice and the scenes have subtitled dialogues. The game has rather simple puzzles and the few hidden object scenes support 3D vision which adds a nice feature to it. I recommend this game for those that enjoy hidden object games and a feeling of Indiana Jones adventure. More reviews on the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know why I often associated this game with another series but deep down, I knew it wasn't related. It was also time for me to play it and to stop letting it rot my backlog. Henry and Laura, with their two children Emily and Francis, are visiting their aunt Amy in Egypt. However, when Jynxie the cat escaped, the family finds itself trapped into a lost tomb, separated from each other and forced to find a way to reunite and bring together their findings to escape a deadly trap set by a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another game I desperately wanted to like. It's enjoyable with plenty of voice acting that is good for the most part. The puzzles and hidden objects scenes aren't high res but are challenging and interesting. The game mechanics where each character has a job to do .... journal for Mom, tools for Dad, a magical item that sees the past for the daughter, and special googles that allow the son to see otherwise invisible interactive areas, make the game a little more unique for the genre. The story…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short version: 71% Escape the Last Kingdom shows great potential for an exciting story within a low-resolution hidden object title, but the game ends before it could even start. Long version: Escape the Lost Kingdom: The Forgotten Pharaoh may have been released in 2014, but the game just screams 2001, the year the movie ‘Mummy Returns’ was released. Not only the low-resolution graphics and the simple hidden object mechanics feel old, but the whole plot is a barely concealed rip-off of said…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, this game isn't terrible. It is on the lower side of average overall. The puzzles and HO scenes are fairly decent, though easy, the voice acting isn't terrible and the extra elements of using magic items and tools is a nice touch. It's way too short however. Which might have been fine if the story was completed by the time the game was over, but no. It starts out with a cutscene showing an epic battle between two ancient pharaohs and speaks about how the murdered one waits in his tomb…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Woah, it seemed epic and amazing with a lot of adventure game items... but that was... too damn short. Really? 89 minutes gameplay? Quite simple, the story is... what the actual heck? We've got a promising intro, but there will be NOTHING about it in the game, the only task is to escape the tomb. Disappointed. 5/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow what a short game. Some of the puzzles were good, but not worth the money.dissapointing
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pros + good looking and colorful egyptian environments + voice acting good + three playable characters + easy puzzles (if you don't want to challenge) + cool egyptian background musics + 3 D option for hidden object scenes + hint system is very helpful + cliche but ok story + there is auto save cons - game could have been longer. - there are no steam achievements - game doesn't drop cards. - game sometimes gives error and shut down.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't really give this game much chance, I admit. So take what I say with a huge grain of salt and maybe try it for yourself, if you get it cheap enough. (I.e. somewhere around 1-2 bucks.) The graphics could be nice, but the resolution is too low, and I think it doesn't scale correctly for my monitor. So you might want to play in Window mode. The idea of red/green glasses for 3D is nice, and as far as I can tell, they always ask you if you want to enable the 3D effect beforehand, so that's…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mediocre game with a generic story. Kids get stuck/trapped and you need to save them. Voice acting and music are ok, but graphics are bad and old since game is from 2010. HOG parts of game are too frequent and hint button does not always help you figure out what to do.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →By far, the absolute worst hidden object game I've ever played. Grainy graphics, terrible voice acting, boring story, pointless puzzles, and medicore gameplay all contribute to making this game a true waste of time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed Escape the Lost Kingdom:The Forgotten Pharaoh, particularly the dynamic where you have the choice to play as one of four family members. Each member is armed with a helpful device that aids in solving puzzles. A helpful map is provided, and you are told when you have cleared an area. The game is under 3 hours long, and mostly consists of hidden object scenes and collecting items on your route. Although decent, a warning, however: The game ended on a major a cliff-hanger. I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible game , got 3/4s of the way through and there are several pieces of torn picture needed , the last piece was not where the walktrough says it should be, now I can't finnish the game ,also waisted several hours looking for it all over the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They could have at least given us the extended collectors edition. with the strat guide and the extra rooms :( Apart from that it was ok. but for the money not worth it (unless they decide to give us the extras for free
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Escape The Lost Kingdom: The Forgotten Pharoah is a hidden object game with a little twist, you can wear old fashioned 3D glasses for a 3D effect. Unfortunately, there's major problems. Fullscreen mode doesn't work properly, there's no 16:9 aspect ratio support, and the game is buggy, sometimes missing puzzle elements prevent progression, and the game itself is incomplete. Gogii Games should get an award for doing an abandoned early access game before early access was a thing!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay so I used to play these sorts of games a lot since my mom was into them and I didn't have many other puzzle games, so I bought this one for a nostalgia kick...but this game. I started off annoyed with the little boy, frustrated at how godawful their version of history was, weirded out by the creepy art, and mostly bored with the puzzles. None of the seek and finds are very challenging, neither are any of the 'puzzles' and I was pretty much bored all the time but I was a bit curious about…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun short game with surprisingly well done voice acting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thanks for giving me the "Game Over" screen? Did they all freaking die or something? (Note: Actually I found out from another player that this game is missing a Chapter... Because this ain't the Collector's Edition...) That means it's time to make our own sheet up!!!!!! That aside... I, myself, me, me, just me... I actually liked the H.O.G. Sure it was short... Missing a Chapter... And the items were rather hard to see in some parts, but...! I liked the individual equipment the other…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty cute little Hidden Object Adventure. Saying that the game took me a solid 90 minuntes to complete I'd say not really worth the $5 full price, (cause personally that would mean the game would need a solid 5 hours worth of entertaining gameplay within it) but the price I payed ($1.24) is a little more along the lines of equal pricing for entertainment value. Yes the game is a bit mono-tone with it's color pallet, but honestly what else are you going to do with a desert/mummy storyline?…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love hidden object games and was happy to find one with an Egyptian theme, but this game really is remarkably bad. I got halfway through the chapters in less than an hour and couldn't convince myself to play it any longer. The story isn't compelling, the dialog is trite, and the hidden object scenes are all neutral-colored pixellated junkpiles. It's a neat idea to play through the story as different family members, but clearer graphics and a more logical story direction would have made a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game.. i really like hidden object mystery games if i just want to relax and play something that is stil a bit interesting but not to challenging or complicated. but i cannot reccomend this one. + voices are ok for this genre +artwork is ok +you can interact with many objects -the story is random, with an abrupt ending -really short -they don't need to be historically correct but they really seem to try to be as wrong as possible about egypt -random in game goggles (yea brother you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short. Nothing special. If you pick it up cheap and have already gone through your better games in your library then by all means- play it. meh/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a weird one. Buy it if its on sale. Other wise maybe give this one a pass.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had to look up online to see if that really was the end, or if I had died... inope t was really the end. This is half a game that doesn't even touch upon the story it opens. Don't waste your time even when of offer.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a really good HOG from 2010. it has nice looking sadly low resolution graphics with full wide screen. pros. fully voiced! from acting to small infos and hints. ok story. interesting gameplay simple gameplay wide screen 3D option for red/blue galsses cons. very short (around one hour and ten minutes) low quality graphics the price? i highly recommend this game if its on sale or on a bundle. for the game i give 6/10 due it its very short gameplay time otherwise i would have given it more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ugh. As others have noted, this game is incomplete on Steam, missing the exciting conclusion. As it stands, it's very short and ends abruptly. Too bad! The little content that's there is fun and innovative. The game uses 3D glasses (red/cyan) and it's highly recommended to get some to play the game. The hidden-object scenes really pop out! The game system also lets you switch between characters, and each has its own special flavor and abilities. Alas, the engine is quite buggy. Sounds will…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun Game, but not worth full price...get it ON SALE!!! way too short and way too easy
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a recommendation only because there is no "meh" button. I enjoyed the puzzles and HO scenes very much. The music and voice acting was decent. However, there are two distinct strikes against this game. The first is that it is EXTREMELY short even by HO standards; I clocked in at barely above an hour. At the time of review, I have 1.4 hours on record and probably a full third of that time was actually me fighting with my display (note that if you have a 4k monitor, you may need to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had a great time, thanks!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was super quick and very easy. The store is kinda....weak and the puzzles are simple but it was interesting. I wish it was at least three times longer and bit harder because the variety in the puzzles was really interesting. Still, if you want a quick rainy afternoon game, this is for you. Get it during a sale though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →That was AMAZING GAME: I DID IT : YU UUUUUUU
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so for £0.67 on sale, it was cheap and fun. the missing chapter for a collectors edition is inexcusable tho. charming enough, nice art but low resolution. music was ok. story serviceable. short
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old, simple but very well crafted HOG with some cool mechanics like different characters that have different tools to help solve the puzzles At one point the characters get separated and you play their individual chapters, choosing the order . Tho its old it still looks great and, together with good soundtratcks, creates a great atmosphere to the point i want to rewatch old Mummy movies from Universal and Hammer =D Its not a colector edition, so no extras or bonus chapter, i recommend on…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought Escape the Lost Kingdom: The Forgotten Pharaoh was a solid adventure game. The Egyptian setting is probably its biggest strength, and I enjoyed discovering new locations and uncovering the story. Some of the puzzles are quite straightforward, but they fit well with the relaxed pace of the game. It's not perfect, but it's entertaining and easy to get into. Enjoy :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A few things. This game is dated. It doesn't run properly in full screen on my 4k monitor. In windowed mode its so small you can't see it, and in 'full screen' mode it only takes up a quarter of the screen, which was better than nothing. The voice acting in this hidden object adventure game was actually good, but like most early days hidden object adventure games, the quality of the hidden object scenes is severely lacking. Often its hard to make out what is even in the scenes. For its time…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good old fashioned HOG with mini-games. Excellent story that's well told throughout.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has a lot of problems, makes no sense, apparently unfinished, false advertising etc. I still enjoyed it. There's a gimmick where you can put on red/cyan glasses for 3D effects in certain parts. It's charming enough. First time playthrough: 1 hour 25 minutes 6/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another "escape" game, and it did not disappoint. I enjoyed the story and how it progressed quickly. There was constantly something to do. Unique puzzles, not the same old ones other games use repeatedly. Beautiful graphics. Nice music. You have a journal, a map, and tools, in addition to inventory. Loved the family dynamics. Well done!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only problem f12 didn't take the pic and end or stop don't work otherwise I loved it. Could have had another hr or twos worth, wishful thinking!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I gave this game a thumbs up not because I liked it (I hated it), but because it's a kid's game, and as such, I suppose would appeal to ten-year-olds. It's not a game for serious players of escape or puzzle games, such as "The Room," or for anyone above about 13. It's really a hidden object game for kids. This dialogue is horrible (but can be turned off, thank god) and the controls are silly and annoying. Every time you run finish collecting your hidden objects, it runs through the list one at…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a bad hidden object game but it is missing chapter or two.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would not recommend this game. One of the worst games I have played.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tags: Adventure - WC - Hidden Object Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Kiddish in tone. Low resolutions. Walk clicker hybrid. 3D glasses integration feels gimmicky, mostly just acting as a help menu. Walk Clicker puzzle easily bruteforced with limited items. Finished a chapter. The game changes things up on you fairly often. From using a unique item to see solutions to environment puzzles, to using one of three tools to clear obstacles, reconstructing items…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's several years old, but feels a bit older.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →didn't care for the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →On the good side, it was a fun. The bad side, is that it was too easy too quick. Perhaps a younger crowd like my children would get more play out of it. But over all, it was nice sidebar from my usual games. I only wish there was more to it than that ending. I would get it while it was on sale otherwise it may not be worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was fun, kids were a little annoying and it was short, but I really enjoyed it all the same.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was short and cheap, which I liked. Mediocre but satisfying.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game had its ups but mostly it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucked. I loved the puzzles great simple easy great for the person who just started to learn puzzles. The graphics where great. The music was great. The voice acting was horrible. The storys plot was amazing. uniqueness was amazing also seeing a story threw 3 views. The actual written story told and played out was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid and its complete downfall. Your a snob family and your kids are snobs. You live your life like a snob. Your eyes bleed…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really happily surprised by this one.. A change of tone and pace compared to Artifex and Alawar titles, I liked the trapped in a pyramid theme, the fact that it's a full family instead of a single character, that they do get separated and play in parallel for a little while, and that they each have a special power/item. BUT. You start to get into it and suddenly.. it ends! Really tooooooo short - just a bit over an hour taking my time. But very fun while it lasts. Get it on sale, it's only a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too easy to beat, took me less than 2 hours. I thougt is was going to have to deal with a mummy, like some curse thing but its just a simple escape game. Not recommened even if on sale.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Egypt, and a family trip going haywire Now, this game does some things quite different. For example you have four protagonists. Two kids and their parents, from the story this migh look like a great deal - but, no it isn't. During the game you'll get diveded, you need all the equipment you got, more or less so. and each chapter has it's own "challenges"... That's right, you read correctly. The characters will be set apart in the game, once they will get surprise soaked and all this in a game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really loved this game, one of the best I've seen of this kind. The graphics and musics are well done, the voice-overs are great, the GUI is intuitive and navigating in the pyramid is simple and easy to do. You see the game through the eyes of a family : mom, dad, sister and brother. Each character has their personality and hability. The puzzles can be solved nicely without a solution and clicking on hidden objets is accurate and responsive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's cute, I'll give you that. And easy. But that's kind of the problem. Start to finish (without breaks for a sandwich) it probably took me less than an hour. The plot was nonexistant as well. Lots of POTENTIAL for cool stuff, but it didn't actually go into ANY of it. Seems like it should have had a pre-quel AND a sequel. It's nice game but, even for the sale price of $1.24, I expected more.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not quite sure if there's more than one version of this game but the one I have is awful. The game is very small, not that difficult since the solutions to the puzzles are presented to you. The only thing that made it a bit harder for me was the poor quality of the images of the hidden-object challenges but nothing that I couldn't overcome. The game isn't worth the money, at least I got it in a bundle with way better games of the same genre so my loss wasn't that significant.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice quick hidden objects game. It's fairly short (I hear the collectors edition which is _not_ on steam is a bit longer), but enjoyable enough for a few hours (at least in my case). Graphics wise it's on the low end of the spectrum. It only has a 640x480 resolution which at full screen really makes the game feel _really_ dated. At the very least, it should be able to scale to 1280 x 1024 but sadly that is not the case. Gameplay wise it's nothing that hasn't been done before. Find…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →-90 mins to complete the game -Easy puzzles -Low graphics -Random things happen the whole time Definitely not one of my favourites adventures. Not even close. However, it is playable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A classic point-and-click adventure. The story is plain, simple and easy. You have no mysteries to solve. You are given objects that you have to use straight away. The idea of using different character in different places is nice, though. I found this game in a bundle on BundleStars. I would not recommend buying it alone,
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →HOG telling the story of a family lost inside of an ancient pharaoh's tomb. Positive review mostly because of the egyptian setting and the nice idea to give each member of the family a specific tool and ability....and because there's no NEUTRAL option for reviewing. However it's a very short game and there's lots of backtracking (there's a map but is useless) and finding some of the objects is very tiring for the eyes since the scenes are not perfectly detailed, some tools are almost invisible…
