positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super bizzaro and at times a little dark but in a fun way. It's been strangely addicting.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are a fan of satirical statements on big business and doing tons of drugs while simultaneously feeling like this game is affecting you like a ton of drugs along with an incredibly off the walls take on the walking simulator genre. Do yourself the favor, please check this game out at the very least. It's so far an incredible ride and something that I would wholly describe as art.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some games are made by a person with a very specific vision. And then they do it. This is one of those. It runs the risk of being strange for the sake of it at times, but the bizarre psychedelic aversion to logic and reality meshes remarkably well with the foundation of utter mundanity of things that make me feel crazy every day, no drugs required. Some things are exaggerated parodies of reality to highlight their bizarre nature, but others put something we accept as normal next to something…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I dont know what the heck I just played but I had to touch my walls to to make sure I wasn't having a mental breakdown.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You know what? This game is pretty cool. The visuals may seem quite busy but you get used to it quickly as it is easy to navigate through the world thanks to the map clearly laying out all the objectives and collectables for you to explore, allowing you to enjoy playing the game as you see fit without worrying about losing your way. For that, you can easily complete the game quickly if you don't want to do any of the side stuff, but where is the fun in that where you can mess around with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't even know how to describe this game. And that is a good thing! It is not everyday that one can find a game as unique and surreal as this one. This is an open-world platformer? A modern art manifesto? A philosophical debate made video game? I have no idea, and I completed the game 100%! Nevertheless I fully recommend this game to anyone that wants to play something really unique. If you like games like Cosmo D's Off-Peak series, Jazzpunk, Broken Reality, or want to play something…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No doubt this game will be taken as immature and primitive, but it is really a masterpiece of degenerate beauty. Sure, I could spend 180 hours collecting treasure chests in one Assassin's Creed game or another--but why not spend fewer than 10 hours immersing yourself in a living work of art? From the surreal to the authentically touching, this is a world filled with narrative. Everywhere you go, robotic, inexhaustible voices are whispering stories in your ear, begging you--like poor…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game, but I think the dev is just traumadumping
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is genuinely fun and the story is interesting as hell. I was disappointed when the game ended and I 100 percent-ed it because that meant I had no more reason to keep playing. This game came out in 2023 but it was the absolute best game I played in 2024. I only wish I could forget this game so I could play it all over again. If you happen upon this game do yourself a favor and buy it. You will regret it if you don't.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A stream of unique and raw consciousness with collectathon game play. It's like SLUDGE LIFE with no filter and an off kilter perspective. Its the type of indie project that confirms art is still well and alive in games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a good experience, let alone game - wyrd, satirical world-building, charmingly bespoke psychedelic design, and genuinely unique gameplay mechanics (like the noclip xray mask that allows you to make walls or the floor disappear, opening up entirely new sublevels and dioramas), all that wrap a story and characters that are genuinely touching and funny. You can tell so much care has been put into this game, to the point where almost everything feels like an easter egg that you were lucky to…

unlabelledView post →Surprised this game isn't bigger than it is. Escape From Lavender Island is in the realm of the surreal and absurd. The game-play/movement is more engaging than most games within this 'on the spectrum' genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish I could say I had a deep self realisation and could explain the deep metaphorical and social topics of this game... But instead I got high and 100% the game in 2 days because it was fun and weird. Awesome game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Behind the weirdness and surrealism there is a thick layer of depression and alienation that stems from today's society. This game will drown you then keep you afloat with a spaceship that's supposed to be a butt but looks too much like a ♥♥♥♥. It will ♥♥♥♥ your head then it will sing to your ear the most depressing song, then it will fart. An acquired taste, just like going down. I personally like it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have now played all of Jeremy Couillard's games and this is by far the most involved. he makes very strange games but they are all very interesting, strange, and I think genuine. These games always have lots of stream of consciousness types of thoughts put into the game and a very unique art style. These are very much outsider art types of games that very causally and humorously touch on pretty taboo subjects and they dont have wide appeal. I love these games and will be supporting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After 1 hour of playing: I used my mask to shoot viagra at boulders to enlarge them. I climbed the boulders to infiltrate a pharmacy where I stole Adderall. I then used the aderall to escape into a reindeers nose portal…. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't understand all the praise Escape from Lavender Island gets. Sure, the world is surreal. The game is visually stunning or pure nightmare fuel, depending on your perspective. There's no denying it's a unique looking game. However, once the initial shock and awe wear off after the first hour or two, you're left with a fairly mediocre experience that feels half-baked. The game constantly introduces new mechanics, mini-games, and mission types throughout the story, but none of them feel…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The music is decent, but morose. Everyone is sad and misguided. The art style is so ugly you start to love it. And it controls like it's straight out of the early 2000's. It is very creative and interesting and I'll probably be thinking about it years from now. I can't really put my finger on what it is about it, but it's good and I hope your developer does more games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game just gets weirder and weirder the more you play it, and yet there seems to be a hidden logic to it that threads everything together. Its one of those things where you have to experience it yourself.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I reccommend this game to you thank you i recomend it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are a lot of reasons this game is amazing on not just an artistic level, but in its commentary and writing as well. The representations of social interactions through abstract but relatable allegories is really something you don't see enough in video games. I applaud the work of Mr. Couillard and I looked forward to seeing more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game but I'd recommend being out your tits while playing it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →just so everyone is aware this game contains real haikus
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game about escaping the grind except you can't escape the grind you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot there is only the grind because we destroyed everything else before you were born and the planet is going to explode in 50 years so I don't even know why you're doing ♥♥♥♥ like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in a girl you love when it's just facilitating the existence of more people subjected to the grind.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good acid game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is actually a really good game, I dont understand the story, the gameplay, the reason the dev made this, but I understand its really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weird
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game becomes bland after a while, it really tries too hard to have a surreal style. It should focus a bit more on detailing instead of adding so many features. May try it again some other time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Creator of JEF makes Arkham City...in a way. I ended up 100% the game cause there was a ton to explore and be enriched by; I highly recommend this game (and everything else by this creator)! P.S. Achievements for 'all corporate secrets/concerts' seem bugged, but there is a failsafe : if they're in your achievements codex in-game, press "Z" five times on your keyboard in the main menu!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Delicately balances an surreal dream-like world with a sense of humour whilst frequently presenting you with some of the most brutally and delightfully honest text and audio relating to mental health or the brutal state of the world we try to live with but only just about survive in. Absolutely incredible experience, loved every minute of it (barring one jumping puzzle section which kinda sucked but hey can't always be perfect.) minor side note: some achievements might not properly unlock for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fire ass game 10/10 not beatable in an hour like most games. 100% recommend if you smoke.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thank the creator for this amazing story and experience. I need this soundtrack in my life ngl.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Majora's Mask if Nintendo knew what they were doing at all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interactive art that is both grounded and high minded. Highly recommend this for those that want a story and a fun platforming game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hated every second of it and i will never touch this ever again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of those games that is not going to be for everyone, but for those select few it will become one of their favorite games of all time. I feel lucky to be apart of the later group. This game is funny, existential, beautiful, and personal, all while still being a genuinely fun game to play. One of those rare pieces of media that remind you there are no rules, only expression. Cannot recommend it enough to all the weirdos out there. Thank you, Jeremy Couillard for making this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was introduced to me via speedrunning but considering this title was meant to be a work of art and an epic story about Zede Aksis and his love for drugs, I'd give it a 10/10 :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Impeccable gameplay, beautiful visuals and unique style. Journey of a lifetime, changed me as a person and has inspired me to do better, when i close my eyes all i see is lavender island.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have never heard of this developer, but this game made me way more interested in their other games. This game is definitely a strange one, with some wacky but rather cool game mechanics with the different masks, upgrades, discoveries, quest system, tons of optional content even after completing the game, etc..., many secrets to discover, and a story(stories) that I will never forget. I wouldn't even really call this a game, but rather a work of art that is in the form of a game, which I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up my sobriety. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fearlessly vulnerable, if a little bit poorly optimized. I adore this game. It's unforgivingly weird and manages to weave deep feelings through it's craziness. The kind of feelings all too familiar and easy to relate to - but rarely spoken of. But it's absurdity keeps it from becoming some kind of self-indulgent arthouse piece and rather a ludicrous open world adventure
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Instantly a classic. As soon as you play for the first time you experience a transcendence experience. with every step and action comes a life changing moment.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Personal, weird, lonely, engrossing. Fantastic experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →is this what it feels like to be on acid?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Indie devs do it like no other
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is an absolute acid trip but an amazing game at that. I love that it is so abstract and unlike any game. I highly reccomend to play this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →more often than not, the things you need are right under your nose and you cannot see them. To say I need a game it's a long stretch, I don't need it, not like I need water, food or rest, but the gaming industry does need Escape From Lavender Island like they need water, food and rest. This because without the originality, the creative drive and the sheer will power for a single developer to do something like it, shows the world that not only of CODs, Fortnites and Battlefields thrives the…
