Every time I solved one problem, the game rewarded me with three more. "Congratulations, your people won't starve! Unfortunately, they're thirsty, irradiated, homeless, and somehow forgot how to make clothes." The colony never really felt alive. The settlers are less "people" and more tiny, interchangeable employees silently…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a game that I would love to be able to recommend, but I can't. On the surface, it seems like something I should love, but there are some things going on under the hood that mystify me. I honestly wonder if they're bugs, or if they're some kind of ham-fisted attempt to create arbitrary/artificial difficulty. The fact that neither of those is a good thing is what has led to this negative review. I love the initial stages of setting up a new settlement. The game looks and plays…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tihs game is good, but it's unfinished. The studio made bad business decisions, decided to make an Endzone 2 instead of finishing this game and then they went out of business (no surprise really and it's amazing how studios think they can succeed at this). To give a comparison, dozens of studios will pop up every year thinking that they can be the next RimWorld or the next Dwarf Fortress but absolutely none of them seem to understand that what makes these games successful is that the developers…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Damn, how I misjudged this game from videos and reviews. It looks nice, but it's very bad. Apart from the fact that it's all very classic (in a mediocre way) for the genre and has nothing at least slightly brilliant, resulting in a very boring game even from the most benevolent perspective, it's one of those strategy games that feel like building a house of cards. You build the basic things, then you have to build something additional upon them as a second layer, then more basic things to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got fed up with this because my villagers were starving despite every warm body going directly into food production. I think the root problem is probably that food and water production is opaque. I had no idea how much food or water any given job produced. I had farms, fishing, berry gathering, and herding going on, but I had no idea what any of those were producing. My only real feedback was that my overall food stores were going down. The other problem is out of control population growth.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Have you ever wanted to go to work instead of going to work? Well, now you can! I revisited this game this year. The fact that I was able to set up a thriving colony in the past is genuinely bonkers. I have tried every strategy in early game to settle resource problems: tightly packed colony, micromanaged population control, schools to make tools and clothing last, overclocked recyclers, and of course...settlers without tools. They just didn't want to walk 15 feet to get them. The settlement…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its one of the better survival games, but I wouldnt say its a city builder. You never seem to have enough people to do everything and eventually as the weather worsens and you run out of resources, everyone dies. I played games like sim city for 100s of hours over time adding and modding. This could learn a thing from that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game itself it's fun. BUT DO NOT BUY IT!!! THE GAME IS DEAD! THE DEV ALREADY DISBAND! Devs instead of fixing/polishing this game ,but they decided to make a sequel but with so many bugs. and in the end they abandon their game and runaway with players money. This is my main reason why i never buy a early access / kickstarter game. F for players who bought this game before and can't refund it.

I was new to the series back then, but after taking a break for almost two years, I found myself thinking about Endzone 1 and decided to give it a try... I jumped straight into Survival mode without even playing the tutorial. Oh boy, what a surprise! It took me around 50 hours to build a truly stable settlement. At one point, my population dropped from 400 people to almost complete extinction. Somehow, I managed…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's important to let people know if your tutorial might take several hours to finish. I genuinely appreciate the thoroughness of the tutorial created by the developer, but it really shouldn't take more than an hour. I understand the intention to guide players, but part of the enjoyment comes from discovering the game on your own. I spent a painful 9 hours on it (counting breaks and idle time). Now that I've finished the tutorial, I feel like I've already played the game and shave lost…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Endzone: World Apart (from Quality) Abandonware in its purest form. Started as a promising “post-apocalyptic city builder,” ended as an asset-flipped hydration simulator. Every survivor in this game just screams one thing — “giff farm water builders.” Instead of fixing their Early Access mess, the devs speed-ran the “cash out and sequel” route. Why polish the first game when you can sell the same half-finished one again under a shiny “2” logo, right? Calling it “unfinished” would be generous…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Endzone in a nutshell: curse the developers, rage quit, return the next morning with coffee, repeat. Like Banished, its learning curve is brutal. A single misstep in population growth will wipe out half your colony. But if you love deep logistics, trade, exploration, and high-stakes survival planning, it’s addictively unforgiving. It won't respect your time or your mental health, but you'll love every second of it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't seem to get going in this game. You can't build because you need supplies, you can't get supplies because you don't have tools, you can't build tools because you don't have supplies. It's just gridlock.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, got to be one of the worst city builder games I've played. The UI is missing crucial details on people and resources while not optimized so you have to beat your head against the wall to figure it out. A very frustrating game that is missing a lot of refinement. Oh and it takes 2 or 3 seasons to raise kids, whatever that doesn't bother me, but when it takes longer than that to cut a small patch of tress down by the forester is mind boggling.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoy these type of games, but I'm easily overwhelmed and usually give up easily. However, this one seems to be still complex and interesting and on the verge of something I can actually handle. I can tell you it's also a complete game with no apparent bugs. It's well thought out and I see the inspiration for more than a few Alien Dawn features in here. If you are like most of us and equate hours of play with value-for-dollar, I think this is a wise investment. You'll lose entire…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not interesting enough to keep me "studying" a game this complicated. Also attempted the main tutorial, it's just system after system after system, but where is the fun?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After playing the game for 5 hours, I'm still not passed the tutorial scenario! Everything is so painstakingly slow in this game. Budiling process takes forever, researching anything seems like a chore. There's a descent array of systems that compliment eachother, but their interactions aren't explained in too much detail. This leaves one having to search through the extensive encylopedic database of knowledge which sips away the rest of the fun that was to be had with this game. There are…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This recommendation is highly dependant on the price, but Steam doesn't allow a "maybe". If you can get it under 5 eurobucks, I'd say it's worth it. More than that, no. A lot of games released in the last 5 years seem to be made by writers and artists with little or no technical knowledge, and as a result end up with good graphics, music and voice acting, but the game itself is buggy and sluggish even on modern CPUs and GPUs. Endzone is almost the opposite of that. The graphics are adequate…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →According to this game I can have 100/700 colonists working as tailors creating radiation suits with all resources needed available in surplus and I will still not be able to make 6 radiation suits for an expedition within 1.5 years. Tried playing again - population crashes happen, from about 700 to about 400 - now have 100 of 400 people gathering water and they can't get enough water. Why the f*ck would I bother playing this game? Kinda of good, kindof absolute dog sh*t. The number don't…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game's AI (or w/e it's called when it's really dumb) is poorly made. For no reason at all, people assigned to specific jobs decide to go do other jobs, ignoring their assigned one. This makes any plans you had completely useless because it won't be followed anyway. I gave this game all the time I could now I'm just frustrated and tired.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a single word of the abundant text is readable. Devs response to that top priority fiasco: "it's impossible to scale the font." No it's not, you muppets; it's its #1 purpose. You're just not coders material. Needless to say, illegible software is about as useful as a solar panel set in a cave. I still gave a shot to the tutorial. As it's voiced and the icons are highlighted when requested, there's rarely a need to point a telescope at the monitor. Might be the most boring tutorial ever…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Flawed but good city builder for those who want more of something like the good old Banished. The tutorial is hours long and shows almost every mechanic of the game, but it betrays the game by being really easy whereas the game itself and especially at the beginning is very punishing. There are bandits attacking in regular intervals but they're a pushover if you have choke points and towers. Not having a safety buffer of water, food and enough protective clothing are the factors that can end a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like the majority of other colonie management games out there. By that, I mean, it's retarded. Like the majority of games of the kind, colonists take hours, sometimes days, to haul resources that are sitting next to a construction area to a building, and that is when you prioritize that building. And, also like the majority of games of the kind, the interface is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. All events that show up, in order to complete them you need to have every single structure, technology and resource…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →food and water disappear instantly with no explanation, resource rewards for missions don't populate, some missions ask you to complete tasks that are WAY beyond what you are actually capable of and the time limit isn't enough to be able to complete it by a long shot. But honestly, it's the food/water mechanic for me. in less than a season you get to go from a surplus of 4000+ units and stockpiling to 0 and can't recover even with no changes, even when after you assign more settlers to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Endzone is an enjoyable but mostly unremarkable colony sim. I think it's worth trying if you enjoy the genre, but at the same time I don't think it really stands out unless you really like the post-apocalyptic theme. Some other notes: - It took me about 15 hours to reach 1000 citizens plus build everything in survival mode. It was a satisfying experience and I didn't need to AFK for resources to accumulate. However I don't think the game has much replayability. - It's an attractive game with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Endzone - A World Apart is a solid game in the style of Tropico. Overall it is fun to play up to around 250-300 people in your settlement, after that you have experienced everything you can experience in this game and it becomes stale. The scenarios in this game are bare bones, not like the fantastic scenarios in the Tropico franchise. The fact that you can only gather most achievements in survival mode and not the scenarios really irks me. Beware of the dlcs, they are not needed for the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The start is slow enough that you won't realise how shallow it is before your refund time is up. There's really very little feedback or interesting things to drive you or make designs and decisions about. You're basically ticking some boxes, much like how the developer basically just ticked off some boxes to 'make a colony game product' without daring to step 1 toe into making a something enjoyable. All idle games have more design than this. Go play one of those. Ironically you'll be less idle…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is like a more open version of frostpunk, which is nice. It can be a bit difficult but once you have a good flow, it can be very easy/fun. A shame the studio shut down and hope the IP gets acquired somehow
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The best way to summarize this game, is to tell you about the tutorial. I played for 5 hours, and i still didn't finished it, and there are 5 or 7 of them. The tutorial sucks, and the game sucks. Its slow in un-fun way, its opaque and it never will be fixed (developers bankrupted - go figure). It feels like this game never got proper design pass and balance pass and i doubt anyone actually playtested it.

But then after a few hours you realize that it is very repetitive with runaway tasks that you really cannot keep up with or micromanage. From not being able to find the necessary seeds, terrible trade factions, confusing defense tactics, and a runaway population : food issue, the game gets overwhelmingly boring. The later stage of you passing 300+ people is just how many farms and homes can i build before people become homeless or starve.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buildings are virtually indistinguishable, making it very difficult to know how many of what facilities you've built and where they are. System is very diverse (a lot of parameters to look at, e.g. soil radiation level, zone attractiveness, ground water level, power supply) but not enough ways to interact with those values in a meaningful way without disproportionate resource cost that can prove fatal to the colony early-game. User interface is unintuitive and difficult to navigate. Progression…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great game. Yes, the studio has closed, but it's very fun and quite addictive. Many many hours to still go for me to complete this game, or achieve what I want. So, do not be deterred knowing that it no longer receives updates. I mean, look at Banished... Amazing game, no longer updating.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing challenge design. I really loved the mechanics and struggle with the environment. Every play is different and unique. I am glad tutorial took 3.5 hours, otherwise i wouldnt understand this game at all. Strategy is my favourite genre and i have almost 300 games in my library. I can easily say, developers really really put time and mind on this game. They did not do it to sell, it is obvious they wanted us to grind and enjoy the game and it's challenges. Just amazing game guys.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not too terrible, but its very boring. A hard pass. You'll learn to hate how slow people travel and how much vacuum of resources they consume. The gameplay loops just not fun at all, its flat and boring especially the scenarios. The world has no charm, nothing to remember about it once you close the game. The voice acting is passable except for the grandma constantly coughing in my ears, so I just turned off the voice volume.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →> your citizens feel too much as a number, gaining or losing them is trivial and you have 0 connection to the people living in your colony, unlike some other colony managers such as Rimworld, they are basically a resource. > buildings that harvest resources have a small area where they collect resources from, which you need to manually move each time the recourse runs out, which is not always obvious and gets annoying real fast as you increase the number of buildings that have such an area. >…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game dynamics don't make any sense. This could be one of the best games if they just made it realistic. There are so many problems with how the game play works that don't make any sense at all. The game developers basically said radiation is the thing that will kill your population then made everything radiation and give you no viable or reasonable way of cleaning, clearing or protecting your population from it, and I'm talking about in the tutorial. This wasn't normal game play. If the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Post apocalyptic banished, pretty good, but there're some issues with mecanics. 1. When the number of settlers exceeds 100, it is no longer possible to distribute professions individually upd not when this happens, at some point you loose ability to distribute it properly 2. It is not possible to limit all subcategories, for example, herbs and medicines under one category and you can limit only this general category Looks like developers abandoned this game

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Early review, I like the setting of this game. But when it comes to colony sims, it is just like every other one on the market and doesn't offer anything different, new or innovating, which might not be a turn off for some, but for players like myself who have played many colony sims / city builders, it could very much be. I purchased the complete edition, so I will continue to play through that content as well and potentially update my review then.
