negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It pains me to give a negative review, I no-lifed the heck out of the 1st game. Almost everything that made the first game fun is not present in this one. Combat feels..meh at best. No returning characters either. It doesn't help that this was quickly brushed aside by the devs, but to be fair ? I'm not even sure its the wrong call.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is it a good game ? Yes Is it better then the previous ENDLESS Dungeons ? Nope. And thats why the Steam reviews are harsh on the game. I think people are too harsh on the game game, it is a good game, but it kinda feels 2 steps forward and 1 step backward form the previous game. I guess i can start with the presentation. They did a great job on the transition of 2D to 3D. Graphics are stylized in a good way and in a unique way i did not see before. Kinda cartoonish but with a pastel look.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It can be a fun experience with friends, for a while. But unfortunately Endless Dungeon ended up being disappointingly shallow, with a core game-play loop that gets old pretty fast. I bought it on release but decided to leave it alone for a good while, hoping that in time, it might eventually become a little bit more fleshed out and interesting. A year or so later, I think its dead. The developers seem to have abandoned updating it. I can only assume that sales didn't meet their expectations.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game commits the cardinal roguelike sin - repeated runs aren't interesting. The floors and enemies always look and feel the same regardless of route chosen. Character buffs in-run barely change anything. The rock paper scissors damage system makes your turret choices for you. Even worse the game expects you to replay it numerous times just to unlock all the characters and their upgrade slots. Characters require finding keys that are not guaranteed to drop every run (UGH) then playing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was pushed into post production so early in its development that no amount of patching it after the fact can save it, sadly. Classic SEGA. What sucks is you can see the shell of a great game here, twinkles of brilliance that these historically wonderful devs thought up but never were able to fully realize. And it's not looking like they have any intent of truly finishing it the way it deserves either. I heard horror stories of this game's instability on release but recent Steam…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely ADORED Dungeon of the Endless. It is by far still one of my favored games... This definitely loses the style, taste, atmosphere, aesthetic, quality, and artistic qualities of the first game. I am quite sad that none of the original characters had made their way into the second game. I was looking forward to seeing my favored characters redone with more art, voicelines and possible story lines... but ah well, they likely live a better life in the first game. First, as a sequel to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The art style and lore has a charm, but gameplay-wise there's very little meat. It really feels like it was designed by committee, and the resulting attempt to bring something as quirky as Dungeon of the Endless to the masses ends up pretty but terminally bland (I'm sure Sega had a hand in this, and I'm very happy to see Amplitude team up with a much better publisher for EL2, which will hopefully allow them more creative expression in their games). I appreciate that the team did make an honest…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such a good premise for a game, but it is just so damn slow. The runs take forever, and it really doesn't offer enough variation run to run in the maps. I like the turret building, but it tends to negate the role of the character
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really wanted to like this one but it get's repetitive FAST! Doesn't build any real interest with the story line and honestly could not care less about the characters. Turrets have no real uniqueness to them and you find them more of a chore than anything else really. I would say this is worth the pick up when its on 50% sale if ever you'll get some fun out of it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lot of people are complaining about this game and I honestly don't agree. It is similar but not the same as the original game for sure. Pros: -It has more action and you have more control over your characters for defense. Turrets are great, but now you can rely on your characters' guns and skill to get by if you don't have enough resources. -I personally feel it's a little more engaging than Dungeons of the Endless -I don't think runs are "repetitive and dry", I have a good time exploring…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun for about 15 hours. Hard fall off after you win the game. Despite its name there are really only 4 floors, hardly endless. With your run being forcibly ended after defeating Ariaudy. Multiplayer difficulty also doesn't seem to scale for 2 players, as my group struggled with 2 players before breezing through to the end once our third joined. If it's on sale I recommend buying it, because it is fun. But the amount of content is just not enough to keep me coming back for more.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is a buggy mess.... Between the wanky hitbox, poor performance, meaningless upgrades, and utter lack of faith to DotE. between the 3 runs, the spider bot stuck on flat terrain during crystal run, soft locking the game. This happened TWICE. Not to mention enemies stuck in walls & non standable terrain.... stage transition effect was neat. Edit: after giving the game a chance with multiplayer, in the "definitive state", gameplay is actually surprisingly solid, the squel's top down view…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember Dungeon of the ENDLESS™ mostly for its mechanics and the need to strategically place heroes and towers. Although the game wasn’t the easiest for me, it left a lasting impression, and I spent enough time with it to remember it fondly. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the trailer for its "sequel" and noticed that the gameplay had shifted more toward horde control. The trailer itself looked very appealing and intriguing. Then the game was released... and I saw all the negative…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Although the game can be played alone, it is best played in co-op, as the AI bots cannot use their powers properly. Unfortunately, no split screen co-op.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Endless Dungeon is not Dungeon of the Endless, and I think it is unfair to judge it as if it were trying to be. Instead of crash-landing in a dungeon and fighting your way out, you are pulled into a space station and have to descend to the core to deactivate the gravity well and escape. You begin with a single elevator, then gradually unlock two more, each of which leads to a different starting floor with different monster spawns. From there, you work your way downward through four descending…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Half baked and abandoned
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought it in early access and I seriously regret my decision. Had high hopes for this one, since I played the original. I have to say it is a huge let down. The strategy of opening door and light management was almost totaly abandoned and made the game pretty much a braindead strategy wise and since the original was mainly strategy game, this ended up being mainly an action game. Bad one at that. Not even worth 5€. Not even worth your time if it was free to play, because I can only say two…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried to like it I really did. Its bad enough that it feels like a crappier version of the first game, but the bugs make this game even more unenjoyable. I recommend just playing the first endless dungeon.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Would I recommend this game? Not for full price, absolutely not. On sale? yeah, its fine. The game itself is not bad, i played it for over 50h in co-op and its genuinely enjoyable. I had lots of fun playing together. So why the negative review? Because of the bugs and the UI Worst offender for bugs during a run: 1. AoE/telegraphed markers were not visible - for me not visible, for my co-op partner they were 2. Ground floor effects (Shelldiver for example) - not visible. i was taking damage…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hello Everyone! I don't usually do reviews, but this is an incredible game. There is a unique blend of tower defense, decision making and action. The game is full of fun and unique characters, each one having there own personality and functionality. The unique enemies and decision making you make on your journey through the endless districts create a unique feel each time I play. I hope to see this game continue to get the love it deserves. Amplitude Studious has done an excellent job creating…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too many bugs, and not the kind that turrets deal with. The host seems to receive less bugs tho
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Please devs, just take Dungeon of the Endless in it's entirety and build off of that - people will buy it. This was one of my very few day 1 purchases because of the first game and it's a letdown.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a shame I cannot recommend this game, I really want to. The visuals are great, soundscape on point, with an interesting blend of tower defense into a rogue lite twin stick shooter. It's just... the gameplay loop is not that engaging. The problem is, you have 2 weapons and 2 abilities, all are kind of meh? There is no power fantasy, no power itch being scratched, I do not feel badass at all. This game misses this so much. It could be easy to fix. Pick up ammo/gun modifiers and suddenly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is extremely unfaithful to it's predecessor. All the game designs and concepts? Gone. All the characters? Gone. It feels like the devs decided that "Hey, no one ACTUALLY gave a ♥♥♥♥ about Dungeon of the Endless, let's just take the name and premise and throw away everything else." I'm a little heartbroken about this, because me and my friends adored the first game and were really excited for this. Huge letdown.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Why does this game not have Cloud Saves??
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →From having banked 200+ hours in the first one, I have to say the second one is honestly a lot of fun despite the mixed reviews it currently has. When I originally found out about the sequel in development, I had kept my eyes posted for updates and a potential release date. Granted when the release of this game dropped, it was a bit rocky for the launch, but overall it's seemed put together really well! The style seems reminiscent of the original (the obvious difference being the style change…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Multiplayer is bugged. Can't move character after joining a level. Have to rejoin several times until it works. Happened again. Googled for a Solution. Found out that the Bug is known by the Developer for 2 years now and on Reddit they said they fix it. Still not fixed. Good thing the bug already happened in the first 2 hours so giving back the game and getting a refund is no problem.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Clearly abandoned and full of bugs and crashes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Three years after release and the tutorial is still bugged? If the game isn't dropping you, it seems fun. I only played multiplayer, and it does seem that the game hasn't been optimized. I noticed random stuttering, freezing, dropping players, etc... Isn't my PC, network or isp as I've played much more demanding games with zero issues. I expected much better from AMPLITUDE, every other game I have from them has been pretty solid. I'll play some more and update this review if I have anything…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The multiplayer broke recently, cannot invite friends via steam.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sigh. I had such huge hopes and expectations for this game when I first heard about it. I really hope they will take another shot at just making a Dungeon of the Endless 2, but after this, I doubt they will want to do it. This game is worth playing with friends if you all get it on a huge discount, as it's decently fun actually. As a Dungeon of the Endless successor, I would give this game a 4/10. As a completely different game, I would give this a 6-6.5/10 (in a fixed state without bugs) If…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I dont understand any of the complaints on this game as it is very similar to the first game. I honestly believe its a tremendous improvement despite not being a direct sequel. No complaints from me, its a great game especially with 2-3 players. If you havent tried to the first game, you arent missing out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought the highest preorder tier when it first launched, now the company slashed the price to half of what that was and gave EVERYONE that same preorder only content. Too late for that since the hype died out years ago from half finished gameplay and high base price so good luck trying to convince your friends to buy it if its not on sale and that desperate move left a bad taste in alot of players mouths who spent $40 USD, not worth and probably last time I trust them.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bugs Game is literally unplayable for me in Single Player mode and when hosting Multiplayer sessions. Got into the game with friends hosting, now when I try Single Player or hosting the game just crashes. Apparently this has been a known issue for years, but the devs have just done nothing. Please do yourself a favor and research the massive issues with bugs before buying
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great game that is finally at a price point where I can recommend it. If you like swarm defence twinstick games with a bit of roguelike and tower defence spice, this game will be a good time. The game has a single play option, but really is meant to be played with 1-2 friends.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow! I mean how? The first game was golden and then they make the second which is the biggest pile of junk I've seen in years. How can they differ so much. This game is trying to be something that it's not. It's also trying to be funny but it's not. They are asking money for it, should you pay it? I think not.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First one was better, looks nice but lack of content has you bored pretty fast.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't understand the current bad reviews of the game right now, it's a fun, fair and challenging game No cloud save tho.. I switched pc and lost all the progress I had
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's the first game on my steam library from my entire life, where my save it's lost for no reason. I loved the concept of the game but I do not recommend this company ever again ! It went full woke also, btw.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worse succcessor of the Dungeon of the Endless
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There was a lot of effort put in to the making of this game, from the stand point of the sound design, art work, and feel of the game. Unforutanely this game is very unpolished, instead of focusing on how to not get your game pirated, and encouraging Denuvo on to your fans of the series, you could've instead invested that time into polishing this game, and creating a proper cloud save so people save wouldn't be wiped between computers, having played on the steamdeck just to find out that all…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a ton of fun. Not sure why there is negative reviews. I guess if you are a fan of the first one, it's a bit different, but nonetheless its a fantastic game. Great multiplayer, very challenging. Has all the best features of a survival strategy roguelike, with towers. Whats not to like.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a player who have never played the first game, and therefore don't know the comparison many other players seem to make, the mixed reviews surprise me as, to me, this is a very entertaining game. Personally, I found it to have a great atmosphere, fun characters and cool enemies. It gives you the wonder of discovering cool areas and features and reveal interesting lore tidbits as you go along, both through the map itself and small snippets of text you find along the way, while also creating…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was so excited for this game before it released. It finally came out and I wanted to love it, I really did. But it was never even fun enough to recommend to my friends (who all love Dungeon of the Endless as I do). This game was a flop. Which is extra sad because it could have been an absolute gem.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game took everything great about the first game and threw it on the ground. Almost no tactical depth to this game and it gets boring so quickly. Me and two of my friends were really looking forward to this game as we loved Dungeon of the Endless and we all were so disappointed and quit the game within 10 hours of gameplay. What a let down.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feels like it was made just to play in multiplayer. You always get multiple characters in a run, even if you are playing solo. This worked great in Dungeon of the Endless, because you had a nice overview of the whole map and were able to move people to specific rooms as needed. Here however, you only control one character at a time and your camera is centred on whichever character you control. This is fine when you want the AI-controlled character to just follow you around, but…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even at $5 I refunded, sadly. Game started out decent but when co-op hit and one friend couldn't move after joining, then repeat after the cutscene finishing floor 1, a quick google search "Endless Dungeon can't move" followed by a quick refund. Not only was movement disabled but the keyboard in general, no ALT F4, CTRL ALT Delete just a hard restart. To the devs, There are bugs and then there is complete lack of any care for your product what so ever. For this to be so common and never…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hard to play properly without friends which is ridiculous considering the first game set a precedent for being able to play it and enjoy it on your own. The dialogue honestly felt like it was either called in by a young intern trying to appeal to what their millennial supervisors thought was funny back in the 2010s or was written by said millennials. Cool spin, would love to see more cooperative games in the Endless universe, but this ultimately felt like a fumble. The strength of the Endless…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i tried to love but just can't.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been playing the beta and stuff before getting it here on steam (for my deck). At this price point it is worth it, and it improved a lot in 2 years. It is at the end of hotfix etc. So a finish product. Would had hoped for local multiplayer and remote play together for longivity (anthem rip), and maybe more roguelike elements, heroes and weapons. But still a fun game. THOUGH lacking a bit creativity and polish. Get it now while it is stupid cheap
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Everytime I come back to this game after having not played it for a couple months, my save game is gone. It seems the only way to resolve this issue is by having to manually create a back-up after closing a session. Due to the amount of progression I have lost this way, I have to give it a thumbs down. There were many other game breaking bugs (like invisible bosses in coop), which I could live with, but this is simply game breaking. Too bad, had a lot of fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its actually pretty good its a shame it wont be receiving anymore updates because the bones for a top tier roguelike are there they just changed base mechanics from the first game which a large portion of the original fans didn't like iguess but i enjoy it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of those games that makes you never trust a studio again. Bought into the hype when it went early access and definitely regretted it. Really sucks that they abandoned the game too.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A remake of the original Dungeon of the Endless, this game has better balanced gameplay compared to its predecessor, but falls flat in almost all other areas. The new artstyle might be preferred for those who dislike pixel art, and the difficulty spike towards the end of the original has been smoothened out somewhat. There are some improvements from the original, especially for players who felt frustrated at the near-instant deaths that used to happen very late into a run. Finally, the music…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandoned almost immediately after launch and never fixed core gameplay loop problems, simply does not capture the fun of the first game. Recommend to skip.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I own the entire amplitude collection and have untold hours in the first dungeon of the endless game. This is not their best work. They decided to make an incremental rewards rogue lite but forgot the incremental rewards. On top of that no upgrade at the bar feels meaningful, and the power scaling is disproportionate. I get the game is supposed to be hard, but even the first game could be beat with good coordination and planning. This relies almost entirely on getting discount turret slots and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amplitude game, it has lovely art and atmosphere, terrible mechanics.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't understand the bad review of this game. I have play the game as the definitive edition with more than 30 hour of gameplay and its really a great game with lots of replay ability. Maybe when it was in early access there were problems but as of now its really fun and better than the first game "Dungeon of the endless". Multiple player choice for the avatar each with their different skill and story. Multiple story knowledge to be found and improvement for each player. I hightly recommend
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is fun. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews about this game. It's fun. I like the art style and the gameplay mechanics. There is plenty of variety in terms of gunplay and hero's. I think my only complaint (and it's a nitpick) is I wish the music was a bit more interesting. The soundtrack is bland. Beyond that criticism I would say to full send this game.
