Which is unacceptable for me. Still don't know whether this is a bug or an intended "feature", but since it's not the only game from these devs with this issue, it seems it's either intended or not important enough to fix. And this is a big enough deal that I'm posting this review to make it known to potential buyers, as there's no warning…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do you like games like Fire Emblem? Empire of Angels is essentially FE light... if all the characters were female, and lived in a biologically impossible world populated by ONLY females, and everyone wore sexy clothes... all the time. The game is a lot of fun. The story is serviceable, light-hearted for the most part, and doesn't interfere with what we're all here for, the battles. Two things really stand out for me. 1) The game essentially allows you to, very organically, choose your…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, I have to say that I'm really enjoying the game. It's somewhat simplistic and a lot of the strategy is going to be based on the classes you choose for each character. The story is nice, and the character interaction is great. It's a cute game, and you really will fall in love with the characters. I'd also like to note that combat is quite fast compared to other tactical games, this is a good thing. Sometimes in these kind of games, the units move so slow, and then the animation is slow,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →50 hours.. and game complete. Still got a few grinding to do to unlock all achievement but it's still a pretty good ride! I have played angel empire 2 and 3 from like 20 years ago and this really brings back memories. Personaly I like 2 > 4 > 3 in that order but all 3 is still really good games maybe i wil go back and find 1 in some old website in the future to play it. Storywise 4 happens from 1000 years after story of 2 or 3. Cubbie graphics of Tactical turn base combat. Not as many class…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember playing Empire of Angels 2 about 25 years ago back when I was a kid on a 486 processor. It was a fun game. Empire of Angels 2 is a Final Fantasy Tactics lite before there is Final Fantasy Tactics. There is a passable plot and some comedy in between a series of tactical maps, which should sound familiar for anyone who has played SRPGs like FFT or Disgaea. What set it apart is the charming attack animations as well as a surprisingly diverse set of job progression with unique perks…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So Empire of Angels IV is a game about a bunch of grills on a quest to collect the four Lord Souls Whoops did it again. You collect the four Menhir (or attempt to anyway, spoiler) and you have zany adventures along the way. The plotline makes little sense, even when it's explained to you and I can't figure out how the characters wind up in the situation that they're in. I feel like several situations were disastrously contrived. It's almost like the developers had a checklist of things they…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Good Artwork is cute and graphics are lively and decent. Gameplay is simple and easy to get into. The Bad Story falls into cliche tropes. Combat is dull and there is very little "strategy" in the battles. Enemies stack on you and most fights end up being slugfests. Progression is grindy. Made worse by having to commit to such boring combat. Maps are poorly designed. There are too many narrow pathways where all you can do is shuffle characters into a single file line moving…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the game seems to be largely functional, claiming that it has an English language-option is borderline false advertising. What it has is an ENGRISH option. The translation is simply tooth-grindingly, toe-curlingly bad, filled with messed-up grammar and transliterated phrases. No wonder the screenshots all avoid text-heavy areas of the game... Look, if you can tolerate that kind of thing, or happen to be fluent in Chinese, this may very well be a fine game indeed! If not... it's not.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am not usually compelled to write reviews, especially positive ones, but this game is pretty great. I expected something awful, or laughably bad. The translation is a little Engrish and some parts of it lack polish, but it's a genuine, full fledged game. It has a bit of fanservice that isn't too bad, the character art is absolutely adorable. It looks like a more High Res Luminous Arc, but plays a lot more complex with class changes, dodging, and all kinds of things. There are secret quests,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very basic. no weapons, armor, items, or even shops. there are levels and class changes though. grinding early hurts you later because when you level up your stat ups will depend on your class and the lower classes will net weaker stats. you can swap classes as you like as long as you have the gold for the class change and have that rank unlocked. rank counts for all characters so once you have a rank new characters can change class to what ever you have unlocked. any character can…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played Empire of Angels 1 & 2 back in the 90s. They are classics to be remembered for life. EOA4 does not disappoint! The old favourite characters are still there. English speakers do not need to worry at all, i understand both languages and I would say the translation is pretty good. The best thing about Empire Of Angels series is that you will follow your troops progress all the way, any progress/rank up is brought on to the next mission. The class/subclass you choose for each individual…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is Nice Game - when change Job is look like a Sailor Moon / Minky Momo xD Fun and Enjoyable to Play "all those emoticon while cast spell make me laugh"
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A solid, yet easy and not too complex turn-based strategy game. I have spend about 15 hours with the game now, and I guess I am halfway through the main story. It starts out very very easy, you can basically not fail. The game is similar to Fire Emblem, Shining Force or Front Mission, not that similar to Disgae because every Hero kind of has a story and is unique. Cons: - The combat is very easy and difficulty only starts to rise after 10+ hours if you try to reach all objectives in every…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm going to call this a literal Chinese knockoff of the Neptunia games. Despite how mysterious some of the gameplay can be (I've beaten the game and still don't understand how damage is supposed to be calculated), the game is extraordinarily simple to the point of shallowness. It's missing some mechanics that I kind of expect in a tactical rpg like forced movement or dots. There are field effects but the player never gets access to them. Healing is grossly overpowered and there are a few…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've received this game from a friend. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with this game, but you can safely pass this title, especially since I find the basic price to high. What you are receiving here is a very basic turn-based strategy game with very basic story and some skeleton progress system. The graphics is pretty basic as well. To finish the game players needs to grind through couple of maps. The only thing that kept me going through boredom was character story system (cards).…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →as a westerner i cant help but feel china just out japaned japan with this game. and i qutie enjoy it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well this is a pleasant blast from the past. Played the first and second game in the series when I was still in elementary and highschool. Never thought I get to see a sequen in English and on Steam no less. Basically old school SRPG. The art is very anime and on the cutsy side. While the graphic is simplistic, some of the detail is endearing such as the expression on the character's face when launching and receiving attacks. The ability to brach out when leveling up is nice though I remember…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good voice overs and good translation. Had no problems running it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game crashed on exit (black screen). After reboot game wont start.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun and enjoyable SRPG with a big dose of comedy and cute graphics.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1. Poor 3D Modeling 2. Boring stage design 3. The story makes you sleepy I tried to find a good part in this game, it seems impossible. 30 years ago Taiwanese did make some good turn-based strategy games. But not anymore.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This sequel is much "cheap" as if it is a mobile game. The previous sequel (EoA III) is actually a master piece. Surprisingly, EOA IV does not even have an item system. And the character models are just too childish to be cute. The plot is plain and tedious, along with bad voice acting. The leveling system is so meaningless and if you want to farm, guess what, the system is actually punish you: The lower tier classes has lower stat increase while leveling. However, each character has a level…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →interesting strategy RPG with only female characters which is a bit off putting as I try to avoid those manga pervy games, thankfully this isn't one of those. it's a lot of fun! It's rather challenging to get to "S" rating for some battles but it's definitely very addictive. Save/Load is your best buddy when you make some bad moves. Alright game for a Final Fantasy Tactics type itch.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a decent but shallow strategic RPG like a really, really watered-down Final Fantasy Tactics or Disgaea. Get it in a bundle, trade, or 75% off. Strategic depth is minimal, at least so far as I have gotten (which isn't too far, yet), with only the usual grid-based RPG tactics of staying out of range when possible and concentrating firepower. Characters only ever get four or five abilities, (including basic attacks) apparently. There are no items or consumables, and characters…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a lot of fun! It's rather challenging to get to "S" rating for some battles but it's definitely very addictive. Save/Load is your best buddy when you make some bad moves. I hope they would keep producing the series!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good as expected. Looking forward for the remake or remaster of EOA3 in HD or 4K. Actually EOA3 have better and classical gameplay and hex tiles that I loved.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After playing for 16 hours. I like it. Empire of Angels IV is a interesting strategy RPG with only female characters. It isn't XCOM or Fire Emblem, but it is enjoyable. Nice music, Great 2d art. ok 3D model, pratical adventure story, and rarely neat VO (in Chinese). Game isn't too hard. You could grind if you feel stuck.. I think It would only be challenging if you want to get all S rank. For the original price(15 USD) I believe it's worthy. It has some notable flaws. But they're bearable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR - Basically, if you remotely think you might enjoy it, get it. Its good. You'll like it. If there is such a thing as a "Casual" sRPG, then Empire of Angels IV is it. Taiwanese developer Softstar has delivered a truly great, fully featured strategy role-player here that works really well for quick hits of strategy gameplay goodness. Its very polished and loaded with content, but the battles are very pick-up-and-play, which I'll be honest, is a nice contrast or palette cleanser after…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like this game just because i played Empire of Angels III. I like Evolution system!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been a fan of this game since Version 2 and that around 20 years ago? It maintains the same characters but the plot are different. The game play is still somewhat the same - turn based, attacking skills, occupations. New features such as pet with adaptive skills. Occasional levels for you to grind as well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i can not seem to chage the resloltion of the screen so i can not even start to write this if anyone can help please it looks like a nice game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't recommend this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How do they breed?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good solid turn based game with melee, archer and mage units. Healing is possible, mana is used for attacks, larger attacks use more mana than the unit gets each turn, smaller attacks use less mana than the unit gets each turn. Turn-based combat which is fun. The graphics are nice, the story is ok, the girls are looking sexy. Load and save is possible everywhere so far and the sounds are good. There is nothing wrong with this game, a lot is very good with this game. If you are in doubt,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →EoA is one of my childhoold memories. I particularly loved the II of this line and had played through it many times. I was so excited to randomly discover EoA4 yesterday, since I thought Softstar wouldn't make any more EoA games. EoA4 so far is not bad, plenty of nostalgia and plenty of fun. The graphics however is a bit dated and the Taiwanese accented narration kind of threw me off (I am Taiwanese myself)... though this is a Taiwanese made game, I thought it would be really cool to have…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good and varied characters.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played Empire of Angels 1 and 3, missed 2. Picked up 4 and it's fun. You can advance in classes just like 1 and 3. Interesting story and brought back memories when I played EOA1 long time ago. They added pets which is probably copied from Pokemon. Would be better if they add more customization. This game is also pretty cheap. Picked it up you won't be sorry.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Would choose neutral if i could. Goofy and not many mechanics unlocked in how far i got and fairly weak writing. Not bad but not interesting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Art is cute and all... but gameplay is boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful game from beautiful country! Don't forget to delete this offer after receiving the bowl of rice
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't recommend this for $15. It's not a complete failure, but it needs to spend another year in production. The artwork is beautiful, but the subs are way too fast (I am a very fast reader), the animation is unrefined, and the interface is clunky. With more polish it could be a good game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is totally a piece of ♥♥♥♥ compared with <the banner of maid>. Poor story Ugly model Boring battle Aimless upgrade
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute designs and Chibi characters in this chinese SRPG. Kinda of a Disgaea lite
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very charming turn-based game. Whilst the graphics are a little basic, they are still very nice to look at, with quite good scenery as well as pretty nice characters. The music is good - from the excellent title music to the melancholy tune during the map section, it all fits in well. The character upgrade system takes a bit of getting used, but it works well. The only slight downside is the sometimes dubious English - but that doesn't affect gameplay in any way. Despite the cute…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →cute game, but nearly no customazitation, a bit simple, good to spend some hours, and don't expect a complex game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was very surprised and disappointed when I discovered that the save / load function is non functional offline. This means that while I will keep the game in the hopes that the developers will fix this problem in the futuer, this game will probably not be frequently played by yours truly as I have many more similar games that save / load just fine offline and online. I urge the developers to fix this problem as the game is otherwise a joy to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →抱歉,虽然有情怀,但是这手游的画质,还有简陋的系统,实在让我无法在PC上推荐这款作品,或许在IOS上会比较合适。
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →bought it while 75% off, enjoyed playing 32hrs of it. unlocked all the characters special class. wish the game is longer and story more complete. mechanics is a bit easier than previous instalments, but still provide a challenge especially trying to get S for each level.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremly generic and art is kinda low quality, but isn't terrible, is mid
