52 of 52 · most liked firstI am rewriting my review. Nothing wrong with the first review except that I left a critique about recovery times. I'll get to that in a second. This is a really fun game! It's a nice blend of building/colony sim as well as turn-based strategy combat. I always like to leave tips for my reviews, and the learning curve on this is steep as the game doesn't hold your hand. - Be aware of the perks and debuffs that you take on your character. I took Long Recovery on one of my characters, and it is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow your game is so great, I'm so glad to see you hosting #TurnBasedThursday ! On my side, I'm fixing, polishing, balancing Edge Islands in preparation to the incoming release next month, and I'm looking for feedback on the demo: store.steampowered.com/app/3006310/... #gamedev #indiedev

There are way less building pieces so you for example cant even currently put roofs on your homes? Annoying that to make the first few objectives you have to explore and hope to find the correct monsters to then kill and make your progression. Concept is good but its not executed well here. The fighting is also…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They make whole islands for that now? Seems like a decent start to a 3D fantasy version of Rimworld. It has the work/sleep/recreation schedule system, the job assignment system, the building system, all of the "basic" features of Rimworld are there. When you get into combat, the game switches to a "turn-based / grid-based" system that (while simple) is a lot more fun than Rimworld's real-time combat. This is a personal preference, for sure, but I enjoy this version a lot more. It's always…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It reminds me of Stranded, Alien Dawn a lot. So far it's very simple, lacks a lot of options that I assume will come with time, and has the same issue that most games of the genre have, hauling takes forever, causing workers to spend 2 hours a day working and 10 moving ♥♥♥♥ around. I wish the entire hauling system was reworked, because it's unrealistic and pointless. On that note, has also another issue that affects most games of the genre, days are too short, which means workers don't work,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hate to give this a negative review because it seems like it could work in a year or so, but in the current state there's just not enough there to warrant the price. I was going to return it, but I went over the 2h mark a bit so I decided to try and play a bit more. If you want to make a somewhat pretty fortress, I guess you can, but you need to fight monsters to get them to drop stuff like clay, which you need for the end tier stuff, and fights really get tedious after a while. There's some…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Two words ... DEM-Oh! You have nothing to lose by giving the demo a try. There's no time limit ... you're simply capped at not being able to progress beyond level 4. Plus, your save file carries over if you want to continue a game after purchase. Played the demo for about about 3.5 hours today ... was only up to level 3 ... but starvation set in so I had to quit and eat. Bought the game and continued on for another 3.4 hours. So, nearly 7 hours total today ... yeah, I'm hooked. Highlights…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: Fun Game love where its heading! Cons: Early Access Beyond the game itself, I had a fantastic personal experience with the developer. I ran into a Game breaking bug, reported it, and to my surprise, the developer went out of their way to communicate directly with me and push a fix in less than 12 hours. This level of dedication to their community is exceptional and speaks volumes about their passion for their game!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really love this game; the mix between a fantasy colony sim and tactical battles makes it unique. The beginning of the game is really simple yet engaging, and there's a lot to do for an early access game. Really well done.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried the demo initially and ended up only playing for like an hour maybe less and gave up. It was a bit frustrating for controls and know how to get things started. After it went on sale and seeing a big update adding crafting weapon and armors I decided to give it another go. At first I thought I would give up again but instead pushed a little further and found the game is really great. I highly recommend giving some time in really learning the mechanics and it does work. Honestly for an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly this game is great. Like may people have said I played the demo and didn’t like it. So glad I gave it another chance. It’s a combination between medieval resource management city builder and almost an xcom type combat system when manoeuvring, cover and backstab make or break battles. Highly rate it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edit 8-6-2026: A lot of good ideas. The dev is making some good changes to the game, and it's starting to come together. After coming back with some of the new updates, I think the only thing I would recommend is removing the dungeon exploration failed debuff. The more I think about it, the less sense it makes. If you have adventurers who are excited and want to go into the dungeon, then going in should provide a small positive mood for being in the dungeon (+5, maybe). That would make…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've now played the game 24 hours, so I think I've gotten a good feel for it. I love it! :D I find the game both relaxing and engaging. I'm impressed with the fact that a single guy got it made and published. Great job! It's the kind of game (because of saves) that you can play for five minutes or five hours. For the night time, you can speed it up to 32 times as fast, or leave it and plan what you are going to have your crew do next or where you will build.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an excellent start on a unique blend of dungeon exploration and town building. It's a bit rough around the edges still and I would love to see this get enough support to expand on what's already here (Which I have not seen yet).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun for the price and it is just EA so many things to come !! if not 100% sure to buy just wait a year !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not bad, not great. https://youtu.be/g2qBweDHDIM
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →UPDATED REVIEW 25.04.2026: This game seems to be doing many things right, but there is still some lack of clarity in what each job does, what runes do (in terms of what exact bonuses do they give, per rune, when applied to an armor or a weapon) and some jobs don't seem to be performed properly after a while. - Some bugs only seem to appear several hours in, like water not getting grabbed, or pawns cooking and making potions non-stop (not even sleeping). - Runes and and wood are a constant…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I knew I liked Edge Island pretty much from the start but I did like the genre to begin with. Having turn based combat was a bonus for me. I can ramble at times so I'll attempt to keep this short. You've got classes you can recruit who have different skills they can unlock as your advance through training. They will also have perks that can be good or bad. For instance this one has a positive outlook or this one needs to run a dungeon once a week. There are basic material you can have…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nifty game - seems promising. Pretty fun and unique idea.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think there's a good base here to build from. For me, the most interesting parts are the different skill types, battle mechanics, and dungeon crawling. The battles remind me of the old Square tactics games, like FFT. I'm looking forward to seeing where the dev takes it from here.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried the demo and enjoyed it enough to buy the game so I could continue playing. I think the combination of a Colony Sim and Tactical RPG has a lot of potential and I can't wait to see it continue to develop and come out of early access. At this point I would consider it to be truly an early access game, and not a fleshed out full release, so take that into consideration if you are looking to buy it and can't wait for a more developed game. However, if the systems DO continue to get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a fun game. Kinda like Going Medieval. Gets a bit repetitive but I enjoy the character-building and combat.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some more work and it will be very very good
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game combines a few of my favorite genres in a fun way to design and pass the time
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been having some fun with the full purchase of the game, even in its current status. I played the demo for about the same amount of hours as I have listed for the thus far full game. Building is fun, combat is fair as far as I can tell. Im sure there will be a bit more polish and improvement to the game before its full release. I would highly recommend an "upgrade" option for walls and building and such though just for QOL.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do want this game to succeed, it's really my jam. I just wish the assets were not.. you know, the same assets pack you've already seen 50 times, but I guess that's to be expected from a small team. Anyway, a huge recommandation.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →still so much i would like to see added and refined but so far a great engaging game, really looking forward to spending many more hours building, gathering, exploring and fighting. thanks a lot
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's a fun cozy game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deceptively addictive game play. Simple enough premise which allows you to really bite into what the game offers, with just enough strategy and randomness to make it fun without feeling overly repetitive. Definitely worth giving a shot for those who like mixed genre games (turn-based combat, base building, dungeon crawling).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice balance of building and combat.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its early, but the basics are there, Its fun to see whats already here and can't wait to see where it goes!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this as soon as it came out because I love the concept, It's super early, but it has a ton of potential. Things I would like to see are food choices(don't eat my raw ingredients before I can cook them), expanded job descriptions(who gets the rabbits or feeds livestock) but really the first thing I want is more traits for people. 5/10 now still a fun game but this could cook to be amazing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is highly addictive and is becoming one of my favorites. I suggest starting on the lower difficulty to get the hang of it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is awesome, love the concept art and style in its own creative way. Like the fact the characters can auto navigate the world to avoid danger while still going to do their given task without having to monitor their every step, or find out that your character died because they ran into danger.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty alright game for EA. Looks and runs well. Can recommend. Games Early Access, if your not into it. Do not get it. Not everyones got time for that!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i know its early access and this is what you sign up for getting an early access game. but this gmae is SUPER early access, much moreso than i'd think based on the steam page. wait for updates for sure, give it a year or two and just let it wait in your library. has potential and thus gets a recommendation though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have exactly no idea, why this game is rated as "very positive" bad interface, awful controls
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edit again: This game keeps getting better. Edit: I want to change this to a recommended game because even though there are issues it's a fun game. The dev is working hard to fix issues and add features. The dev is also replying to post and is active with the player base. There are so many issues that I would need to write a book about this game. I see that the dev is patching but I don't see the patches working. The more hours I play the more broken the game becomes. Also, not being able…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definitely worth the money if you enjoy city builders with combat included. As always, eagerly waiting for the future what is to come. Slow progress though, it is not a large team making the game so it won't be updated weekly. EDIT: It's only gotten better... It is 100% worth the money if you like this type of games. EDIT2: After including the auto-battle resolve system and other QoL improvements. I just don't know what to say anymore. Why don't you already own this game? it's magnificent.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fun little game. It's got some annoying quirks and bugs, like dungeon fights mostly giving your party bad initiative rolls, so you frequently lose characters the first turn of fights and will then be under powered the rest of the dungeon. Or the fact that there's no armor/weapon consumables, inventory system, or a way to give direct commands. I'll check back in when there's more content updates, fixes and improvements but yea. Buy this game if you like Rimworld and Going Medieval.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the best up and coming colony sims I've played lately. I love that I can do turn based combat instead of having a random pawn shoot my best doctor in the back of the head like in Rimworld or similar chaos games. The progression to fight wolves and spiders for materials makes me feel like building choices matter and I can't just break the economy by having giant farms of everything. I'll definitely be playing this game again and again as new content is added.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun game so far. I see a lot of promise from this one. My only hope is they fix the storage issue. It would be good if the heroes would stack the same item before making a new pile and be able to set what goes where would be awesome. Having a way to plant trees would also be amazing as they are needed for so much.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Early access review. With where the game is currently it is very very playable and has some strong foundations to build on. It has some bugs/balance issues as should be expected with an early access game but they are quite minor. I have already had 17 hours out of it and thats without the demo I also played heavily, if you see this game for £10 - $15 thats the right price In my opinion at its current stage. The game has a system where your town levels up as you get materials from the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like this game !! Thanks you. Try this one out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game crashes at the loading screen every single time. I have tried all 3 versions of the game and it happens on all 3. Also, I have to unplug one of my gaming peripherals when I start this game otherwise the game thinks im constantly holding the down button. Ill check back after this cooks longer. Refunding for now..too janky.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The overworld movement is utterly terrible. Characters refuse to move if they are on recreation, but it isnt indicated. The combat is awful. I think I spent 30 minutes and I'd already had enough. Tried it again today for another 30min. Large map / very large map optimiation is poor, play standard. Again, the movement just makes my brain hurt.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is way too early in development to actually recommend to anyone. The game just has random character generation, no proper character creation options to create characters the way you want. Edit after a few updates: there is Character customization in looks, but not in weapon types, or stats. The Camera rotate Default being set to Right Mouse, and having unit movement be Right Click too, makes times where when you click to move, the unit just stays in place and doesn't move. the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kind of fun at first but losing all fun and purpose in the game after a few hours. The battles are very basic chess like gameplay. I can see that it has a lot of potential but it's not being used. Think this is a good try for a first time programmer but they have a long way to go. Here some money to help work on the next project and hire a team.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really promising start! a lot of content already
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got a good gameplay loop and foundation look forward to see were this one goes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good foundation.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A new arrival to the colony sim space whose combat is going in a direction I appreciate as a huge fan of tactical strategy, but ultimately falls a bit short on delivery. It's a Rimworld-like that has all the basics of colony sim genre: priorities, skills, schedules, buildings, furniture etc. (albeit all a bit limited at the moment.). Combat is turn-based and tactical, and though at present it doesn't particularly wow, the map gives a good impression of grander adventure to come. I think it…
