The only fix is downloading a code editor and redirecting the games paths to your graphics card. Which windows compatibility mode should do but doesn't. You would think steam would be aware of this issue and would post a warning or an actual fix other than requiring you to alter the games code with 3rd party programs so you could play it. Love spending days researching a fix for things that should…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You must mod in the expansion, Allsaves mod, Drop mod, and HD texture mod. It was the best of its kind before Grim Dawn came out and still better than most games today.

I spend almost two hours with different configurations, watched all movies on YouTube, askes AI helpers etc. and NOTHING WORKS! You can just play with "fullscreen - false" option, with little window you can see nothing. DONT LOST YOUR TIME AND MONEY
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having played this game a *ton* when I was younger, I obviously have a ton of nostalgia for this game (Steam playtime is not remotely close to my actual playtime over the past two decades). I do want to try to pull off the rose-tinted glasses and review it for it's actual worth nowadays for new players, rather than rating it on my old perceptions. As some other have stated in the reviews, there are things to be aware of if you do get the game. THE GAME IS VERY BROKEN. Unfortunately, this game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FINALLY...Closure After 21 Years We all have that one childhood game you desperately seek closure for. For me, that was Dungeon Siege 2. I found it by pure accident as a kid when a neighbour let me play it on his Windows 2000 PC. His one rule: "Don't hit save." I honored that rule so hard that I accidentally carried that rule forward into my own play through once I bought the physical game failing to realize that I was literally missing nearly the entire game (I know DUMB, but I was just a kid…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →~50 hours of game-play so far on Steam, but I've had the physical copy of this game long before it was on Steam... Dungeon Siege 2 one of the BEST linear RPG click games to this day and it has aged VERY well with character growth. If you are new to the Dungeon Siege series, my humble opinion.. DO NOT PLAY DUNGEON SIEGE 3.. Just play this one! This game is comparable to the Diablo game series except you are in control of who you have in your party and what weapons/armors your party can use by…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played it for millions of hours when it came out back in the day. Bought it at some point in one of those 3$ sales out of pure nostalgia. Just finished a playthrough and the game is just great, good old school quality: - Music is phenomenal - Level design is fresh and doesnt feel repetitive - All the dialogs are voiced with good acting - Character progression feels great, there arent many options for build crafting, but the options inclidued are very strong, every new level up feels like a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fine in theory. The more focused party system allows more control and even some nice interactions. Party members no longer having a chance to die with every knock out is nice so you no longer have to worry about needing as many resurrection scrolls or the loot explosion you have to pick up and reorganize. Game over feels more intimate and interactive without needing complete micromanagement though it can still be a bit awkward. That being said, your party chooses to interject when…

I've been playing online with my friend witha modded client so virtually NONE of my game time is here. modify your hosts file with: 127.0.0.1 dsiege2.available.gamespy.com - You'll need to launch notepad as Admin, open the Hosts file (you'll need to switch from .txt to all files to see it as an…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pass on this. Man what a great game it is but it does NOT include the DLC and has a lot of issues. I still don't know why steam allows titles like this to be sold incomplete and broken.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dungeon Siege II. I humbly submit this game to you as the finest Diablo-like in the genre.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What an epic journey this game is! Compared to Dungeon Siege, Dungeon Siege 2 really improved on every single thing (except the camera zoom-out, it's just too restrictive now). Controls are better Itemization improved by a lot. Unique and set items are interesting and very useful. Even rare items have a lot more variety. What's really cool that you can get an upgrade or two (for your group) in every single new area. It's quite rare for an arpg to have such a smooth upgrade curve. Well…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10 After nearly 1000 hours spent in the game, I believe it's time to write a review. What Diablo 2 is for many RPG genre fans, Dungeon Siege 2 is for me – an absolute classic and one of my favorite RPGs that I regularly return to. Although the story itself isn’t one of those complex, mind-blowing narratives, it is very interestingly done, and most importantly, it grabs enough attention, making you eager to see in which direction it unfolds. The game offers so many positive aspects that the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh, how I miss the days when games were actually GOOD. Especially RPGs. This was one of my favorite games to play, way back in the day. I'm having a blast playing it again. My god, I wish people still made good games...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun. Old but fun. Keep coming back to it every so many years to rejoy the memories.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →★★✰✰✰ I recently enjoyed playing Dungeon Siege I, which worked acceptably, but for this sequel there are running issues, and even though it is quite decent made, the minimap, camera limits and control keys are making it difficult to play. Add to that there is no load game, but you are ported back to last city, which seems wide and far apart, meaning each time I die, there is a lot of running back, which is pretty annoying. Not quite sure if I will be able to continue to play this one.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this game on release at Best Buy from the coolest looking cardboard kiosk my 11 year old eyes had ever seen. A lot of memories with this one. My personal story aside if you want a good ARPG with a great story and world building/lore then this game is unmatched. Please don't let the 2005 graphics deter you. There's so many different builds, interactive/enjoyable companions and some cool mechanics I wish more modern games would implement. If I could have one remake of any game ever,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →solid 8/10 old game with dated graphics but still holds up gameplay wise. quite a lot of good mechanics and overall very balanced. pro features: - potion system - loot system - targeting / team system - ranged power shot = totally OP (you can reach 80k damage and 3 shot the final boss on hardest difficulty) - lot of fun sets/uniques with a lot of easter egg stuff - FULLY voice acted (quite well at that) - nice UI and journal system - press 1 to get through practically every conversation -…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game really was designed to skip the most boring aspects of top down rpgs such as city hubs, mountains of exposition, and spam-saving. When I play these games i want fight monsters with cool spells, not spend most of the time in dialogue. And this fits that much better. DS2 also improves upon the original in every way. Try this game if you like Baldur's Gate, D:OS but wish there was more action and less snoozing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good old school RPG. Runs great on Steamdeck. Just use these settings and set the graphics to maximum in-game. Compatibility: Proton 7.0-6 Launch Options: width=1280 height=800
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Coming here right after finishing Dungeon Siege 1, I saw right away why some people hated this one (and 3, which I'll try soon) and thus believed that the first game was the only good one. But I disagreed, for the hour or so I spent getting to the start of the forest area and really starting the game after a lengthy tutorial section, I was enthusiastic about the rest of the game. Sure, the combat is worse. Yes, there are as many poor design choices as there are good ones. But what I experienced…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely old school at it's best. Totally enjoying it!! Sale price is no brainer, no reason not to play it. Plenty of skills, set items, magical items, chants ,powerups ,spell books with plenty of spells too. You can have heroes as well as pets! Game is simple and straight forward. If you like old school games, you will like this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its very cartoony.. not that is bad.. its just not what I was expecting.. game play isnt good..but its a little better than DS1.. not that I'm playing a mage this time around (as 'primary').. but at least mages get 'shared' xp.. so mages arent left out completely! but its the 'design' (or lack thereof) of the game that I dont like.. the base story is poor.. the quests are stupid.. the plot devices are atrocious.. and who thought having 'skill based' door requirements (to 'open' them) was a good…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a very old game, but is sort of like Diablo 1 or 2. In that sense it is fun, but there is a lot of backtracking and for some incomprehensible reason the pathing logic for the members of your party is not consistent. Eva is a nightmare. She got stuck because she would not go through the same doorways the others did for no reason. Also, on a new machine, you are likely limited to either a small window, or if you max screen the UI stuff stays tiny. Had alot of fun trying to even see my…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, I play it to this day occasionally, but i do wish they add the expansion. I used to do the workaround on my win10 machine, but it's too much of a hassle to do on cachyos
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A shameful job at revamping the game for modern computers. Full of bugs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a Square Enix game of the early 2000s. That's all you really need to know. Beyond that, isometric RPG with party system and randomized items all bundled together to make a fun dungeon crawling experience. Gets wonky with how your guys attack and they get braindead at times, but still works well and fun. The biggest problem from playing games that came from the pre-HD era is how tiny maps and dialog is. The voice-overs are amazing and you can't find such quality in modern games…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dungeon Siege II, released by Gas Powered Games in 2005, is a sprawling action RPG that attempted to improve upon the solid, if sometimes uninspired, formula of its predecessor. Set in the high-fantasy continent of Aranna, the game thrusts players into a tale of betrayal, ancient prophecies, and war-torn kingdoms, presenting a more narrative-driven and character-focused experience than the original Dungeon Siege. What distinguishes Dungeon Siege II is its ambition—not only to expand the scale…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just love it, I have played it when it was a new game and still it keeps me interested
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yes, it's better than the first one. Yes, it has a story this time. No, I still can't recommend it unless your favorite hobby is herding AI party members like drunken goats through 25 hours of brown caves.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game follows in the tradition of its predecessor - one massive continuous 3D game world. And it's a much polished experience too. Similarly, the story isn't too deep although there's slight improvement in the narrative. The things I enjoyed most were battling different types of monsters in different types of settings: jungle, desert, etc. The game is playable in 2025! It's slightly lacking the charm of its predecessor but overall a good RPG.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I used to play Dungeon Siege 2 when it was first released. It is a great classic Medieval Fantasy Game. Still awesome after over 20 years of being out!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has a lot of glitches. The Modern version can play in a fullscreen windowed version but all the user interface is in the top left corner so it's hard to read. and the Original version keeps crashing or the mouse keeps being forced into the corner of the screen while being hidden. So you won't be able to click on the buttons in the main menu. I did manage to find a patch for it somewhere (on Steam I think). If you put the Original in a windowed mode too it seems to stay small and won't allow it…
