What people are saying
Mixed but leaning positive; many praise its charm and value despite janky combat and pacing issues.
Players largely appreciate the game's charm, value, and nostalgic feel, with many citing its low price and enjoyable exploration. Some note it's a solid hidden gem from a small team, though they acknowledge clunky controls and frustrating inventory management. [1][3][5][6][8][9][14][17][18][20][22][26][27][28][29]
However, many criticize the combat as clunky or janky, with issues like poor targeting and stamina management. The difficulty curve and pacing also draw complaints, especially in later chapters where the game becomes a slog or forces specific builds. [2][7][10][25][30][31][32][33][34][36]

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wigmund is a game that has charm, but lacks in almost every other department. And yet, I myself enjoyed it for the simple game it was. It felt like I was playing souped-up version of the text based Ultima games, in some ways. The Good Ascetically pleasing. The world. It was too small, but I enjoyed exploring it and found areas to be quite beautiful. The crafting system, though on the easier side (I say this, while not quite maxed yet lol), was enjoyable. The idea that all stats can be useful,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can tell that a lot of effort went into this one, but after 18 hours across two attempted playthroughs, I'm afraid I can't recommend it. My main issues are the writing/story and combat. The combat is... Oof. 'Janky' doesn't really cover it, and also isn't an accurate descriptor. The combat doesn't feel janky. Movement actually feels pretty smooth. The problem is that every single combat devolves into a spam-rolling session where you kite enemies around a room, smack them once or twice, and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →thats a good isometric game with some diablo-like inspiration, but the difficulty curve isn’t very pleasant. the game keeps getting harder as the campaign goes on and it becomes kind of exhausting if you don’t grind to level up and gather money for better equipment. the positive side is that the campaign is solid and the world is open, with a lot of freedom for exploration, which i really liked. but honestly it would be a much better game if it had an option to lower the difficulty and make the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →sorry the autodesk people are being such a-holes to you, this is my way of supporting your fight against them! highly recommend this game as its on sale and you have nothing to lose ^_^ im enjoying it so far! no complaints :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great little story based ARPG. The crafting was interesting and I had a great time playing it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I will preface this review by clarifying that I am aware that this is a passion project of only a few people and therefore did not have unrealistic expectations in terms of gameplay fluidity and expected a certain amount of jankiness, which I obviously ended up encountering. The issues I am going to criticize, however, directly correlate to the gameplay philosophy itself. I will also state that I am an avid hater of difficulty settings in games as I do believe that they obliterate any chance…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game starts off as a quaint, open world RPG with a decent story, rewarding exploration, and a simple but satisfying gathering and crafting loop. But all of this comes to a crashing halt about two-thirds into game. At this point you're given NPC companions and spend the rest of game in mostly linear dungeons and slogging through groups of enemies. I ended up dropping the difficulty just to speed through the endgame, which is a shame since I was really enjoying it up until then.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worth every penny. A fun RPG that is easy to get into and fun to pic up for a few hours whenever you feel like it. I was looking for something not overly complex or overly simple, and for the price, that game can't be beat. Try it!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this to help the dev with their Autodesk licensing issue without knowing anything about it - but have surprisingly been having a blast in my first hour or so. A great little ARPG, somewhat reminiscent of Divinity: Original Sin. There are a few clunky areas - particularly in menu navigation - but overall a solid little game, and well worth the money. I was very pleased to find it could be played with controller, and its a seamless transition back and forth. For a few dollars it's a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought it with 70% discount with about zero expectations just to give it a try, but this game was actually really nice and I had a lot of fun playing it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hello gamers. Putting beside the lack of quality of life and relatively small content, i can say it was quite an enjoyable little game. For such a small team (two guys) it is quite an accomplishment. I got it on sale but after playing it, i can say it worth the full price to. For everyone who is a RPG fan, this little game could offer a decent disconnect from all the AAA games out there. Don't start it with expectations and it will surprise you, just enjoy it as long as it lasts. Cheers to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First I'll list some of the things that need fixing asap: 1 The controls fall apart when facing many enemies, you get stuck in the wrong direction and cannot re-target. 2 Way too many places where you get stuck in corners or hung up on the environment. 3 Super frustrating to be constantly juggling items in your inventory, please increase stacks to alleviate some of it or increase inventory size. That being said I still enjoy playing this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You need some REALLY god patience for this. Everything feels sluggish. The running is so slow, you can swing like 3 times dealing little to no damage before you have to wait 15 seconds for the stamina bar to fill. So much running back and forth just for the sake of stalling time it feels.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →all happy fun until i get to last area of the game. Unless you have a specific build you don't stand a chance in final zone. So i guess i can get bent since i made the wrong choice of equipment to spend my last money to upgrade. Sure i could go back and reset my stats and skills but it's just a waste of time at this point. I spent all night pushing to finish this game but i guess i will just look it up on youtube and move on to games where i DON'T get screwed over because i didn't pick the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i adore this game!!! its a little grueling at times and can make you VERY frustrated, but its incredibly charming and definitely made with a lot of love. it also has some goofy ass dialog thats genuinely made me chuckle!!! I think if you can get past the poop butt combat, horribly long day/night/rain cycle, having to run a marathon everytime you need to go to town/get a quest, you'll love this game!!! when i first tried it I kinda gave up after a couple hours in, but after giving it another…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game feels a little bit clunky, but once you get accustomed to it, it's no problem, good combat, good story, for the price you can't actually ask for more, better than most ubisoft games in my opinion.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished the game in under 24 hours of playtime, you can squeeze more time out of it if you explore more, the game was very fun and I have mostly positive things to say about it. - The combat being more of a gesture combat with swords was very interesting! But also means bow is a bit boring in comparison, which is fine if you like the other weapons - The story is fun and interesting enough! nothing ground breaking or anything but was enjoyable - Played it on grandmaster difficulty for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game. I went the 2h sword route. If I can recommend something, craft a lot of food early before your inventory starts to get full. I love games where you can see the armor you equip and this is one of those. My only gripes are the very end has some build restrictions (required to use shield, so no 2h sword and no bow) so you almost have to respec. I ended up beating the final boss w/ fists and a shield because i didn't have any single handed swords and the shield is required or you will…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wigmund: The RPG That Took Me Back to Tibia… but Gave My Mouse Hand Cramps Some games surprise you. Some frustrate you. Wigmund does both in the same afternoon. I found it while scrolling through Steam, chasing that old-school RPG feeling. Medieval setting, melee combat, fishing, cooking. My brain immediately went back to Tibia nights spent training skills in a depot like it was a second job. Wigmund absolutely taps into that nostalgia. The difference is that now the world looks better,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The narrator saying "Wigmund" when loading the game will never not make me a jump a little
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wigmund At first i was a little worried about this game because combat was clunky and the keybinding was different/weird, but I am glad i have stuck with it. I am having a lot of fun with the exploration of this game. The open world aspect is nice because i can run around freely and discover things and exp grind if I wish. The side quests are interesting but simple in a good way. The main story is ok so far only 7 hours in lol. The combat grew on me after learning what worked best for me and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely LOVE this incredible hidden gem RPG game, it has a great vibe to it! It has some flaws like it needs more bag space because there's a lot of loot & materials! (I like to collect EVERYTHING!) Combat is good but not what it could be, & I wish there were more slots to put combat skills, potions, food, fishing pole, shovel & etc. And I would love to see a bigger world exploring the current world is awesome but would love to see more. But overall very well worth playing & the price is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is just not a good game. There is so many shortcomings here i don't know where to start. Presentation looks fine in general, but colors looks too acidly bright. Every time you in a green forest it looks really bad. Controls are terrible, i don't know why they made classic isometric ARPG with 3rd person control scheme. Just make classic mouse movement and everyone is happy, but no, you got to move your character manually and even picking up items is annoying because of it. Gameplay is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know why I enjoyed this game so much. The crafting and exploration was rewarding despite the menus being a little confusing. Very pleasant.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun, beautiful RPG with an excellent musical score.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Better than you might think. Played as a ranger. I came into this expecting a short game, but was pleasantly surprised I got 18 hours from it. Wigmund follows the 'Diablo' formula of a top-down isometric RPG, with the tried and true story of evil awakening and forcing Wigmund out of his farm to go and do something about it. I've seen a few reviews claiming the game is amazing, and they are not wrong. The graphics are really good - barrels and boxes can shatter when you run through them,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →terrible combat system, as an ARPG enjoyer i cannot recommend it. i cant comment about the story so i wont. i dont recommend it if you were looking for solid gameplay
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Combat is pretty jank. From the pictures in the store page I expected oldschool MMO type combat, like in WoW or Everquest, but in truth it's really easily cheesable rollslop that is everywhere nowadays. Needs a lot of polishing before I can really bother playing it more. Also the river sound effect was really damn loud.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun, short, enjoyable, beautiful.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Salve, adventurer. Straightforward, easy to jump into linear RPG with greater emphasis on combat/exploration than a narrative rich story (you've seen this before if you played or read more than 3 fantasy tales). Game was put together by a small team, one software engineer and one 3D artist, from a garage out of Romania. Hits that solo hack n' slash nostalgic RPG itch: I'm talking about something crossed between Dungeon Siege (the first one), a bit of Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, and some of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If Runescape had a baby with darksouls ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ pretty much sums up everything about this game not bad i freaking love it <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's okay. Really enjoyed chapter one and two but chapter three feels rushed story wise and progression wise, a slog in terms of gameplay and not so fun. At chapter three the constant rolling of enemies is annoying. All of a sudden armour, weapons and recipes start being thrown at you from the first dungeon which messes with the pace of the game and your progression. Some more annoyances: hotbar could use two rows locked chests/doors, would be nice if you didn't have to open inventory and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A small splendid game that captured my attention and drew me in from the very first moment. I really hope that the devs will bring more content for this game or maybe a new title.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →WIGMUND - A colorful mess with a ridiculous name and terrible game mechanics. Things that marred my experience: * Clunky combat mechanics. * Even as a non-native speaker, I found the storytelling to be beyond bad. * Deafening background noise labeled as “music” in the game menus (at least you can turn it off). * No variety or originality in the design of the enemies and character development whatsoever. Just the usual knight careers in slightly differing flavors. * Fleeing enemies with…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game. Beautiful graphics. Nice weekend play game, and worth the price for a weekend of fun. Hope the devs come out with something bigger in the future.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I honestly had a hard time deciding if I would recommend this game or not... At the end of the day, if this sorta solo RPG style game is up your alley, then I think you will enjoy it. I don't really care for story in games, so I think some of the charm is lost on me. I don't really think that matters much though. The gameplay is simple, but enjoyable. The combat isn't tough and it is a little wonky, and the preternatural way enemies evade you can get a little silly. There is crafting, but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just incredibly janky. Basic barebones story and mechanics, embarrassingly bad writing. It's possible this game gets better the farther you get into it but I'll never know, what I've played through is enough to turn me off. I feel like the devs knew this too and priced the game accordingly. My recommendation would be to not fall for the trap; your time isn't free and this game isn't worth it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was skeptical at first but once you get into it the game is very fun. I decided to go full ranger build and its going great so far. was extremely frustrated at first because you miss a lot with the bow and I was gonna give up on the game but, if you hit tab their is a lock on feature and then you just spam click death to your hearts content. This feature saved the game for me because with out target lock on it was extremely rough.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wanted to like it. Didn't. World/skills/art/music are all stunning and well-implemented, but the story and quest system is abysmal. After coming back to it three times, playing 2 hours, I don't regret putting that time in but I really dislike how short this game is and how little there is to actually do story-wise. It takes place in "Acts" so you can't just do whatever, whenever. You are confined to specific areas, despite them making each one fairly large, it's never really "open world"…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →7/10 Game. Definitely recommend to those who liked leveling in Elwyn Forest. Very RPG, immersive story. Great colors and detail. Game has so much potential. PROS +Love the World of Warcraft feel from the game +Great graphics, character detail, and mob designs +Variability in how you want to play your character +Open world +Great side quests +Makes you want to adventure +Potential to be so much more. CONS -Control set up almost caused me to quit, so be prepared to continuously…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's beautiful, intra-canonically cohesive, controls are fluid, spells all work and look great. I'd call it an Upper-Low-Fantasy game probably in the same vein as the Zelda series, and frankly if you don't play it you're missing out. Dev tips: Your game is hard AF lol, and super unforgiving in terms of crafting material scarcity with some (black pearl, blue pearl, red diamond) so rare that you only get so many shots and don't KNOW that going in until after you've used them. Maybe make…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For the price, a very fun and well done game. Could use a better Journal to do certain quests first but for the price this was a good, decent game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its got potential but the menu's are horrible to navigate and the map sucks, not giving any quest icon, all you can do is follow the minimap indicators so really you dont know where the hell youre going, and what to expect, I ended up in some hellfire dungeon under a castle and all i really wanted to do was find an eagle nest to retrieve a bell. the castle did have a quest indicator but i dunno what floor, what the quest was, where i hand it in, its just so hard to navigate the world. It…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Combat is not fun. Apparently I'm supposed to dodge and parry, but the enemy attacks are not well telegraphed, so that's impossible. Also there aren't many interesting choices in character building so far.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was REALLY good. It’s like a mini open world aRPG. I feel this ended too quick and I was already 20 or so hours into it. If you are looking for a fun simplistic aRPG, you should definitely give this a try. It ran good on the Steamdeck but I did have to turn settings down to get a solid 60fps and it still dipped in the 40s in the open world areas. Still very playable. This was a diamond in the rough. I hope they consider making a continuation to this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's good, need to save often especially before mini-boss/boss fights. i just hope that walking speed could be increased cuz i keep spamming dodge button to walk faster :/
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While I do think the developers have earned the money I spent on the game, I just can't recommend it For some reason the contextual mouse attacks for melee are disabled, which is the only way to have a remotely engaging time with the game, and even with them you're baiting enemies into gap closers with a dodge roll in between strikes The first map flows pretty well, and if you take the Paladin type weapon buff you pretty much instantly kill the mobs in the zone But right going into the next, a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice game. Some things to iron out. Good first impressions.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worth the $15. Pretty fun game, completed everything at a leisurely pace in a bit under 20 hours of playtime, including maxing all professions and fully upgrading all gear. Lots of side quests that reward new spells / gear / quality of life abilities (such as fast travel, resources showing up on your map, etc) which is neat. Hidden loot all around to incentivize exploration and a good amount of crafting. Combat is a bit clunky but you get used to it, feels like the Dark Souls raccoon meme.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you've ever played those Warcraft 3 custom RPG maps, this feels a lot like one of those, except your basic attacks are manually controlled. The environments are beautiful and the music is well-suited to the game. I would describe most of the game systems as being "good enough". I would have liked for a way to set map markers, and to access different regions from the map interface, but overall I enjoyed my time with this game, and am glad I gave it a play-through. The game scratched an itch…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I rarely leave reviews so here goes. First of all I think this is the first time I actually felt bad buying a game on sale, is absolutely worth its price tag. Its very straight forward in terms of what you need to do and understanding the story but the mechanics are complex just enough to be engaging but not overwhelming. Gives you just enough information to inform you but not hand hold you through the story and quests. Has a lot of old school game principles and mechanics genuinely feels like…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely made RPG. I felt nostalgic playing this game it’s awesome. The game is simple but offers an enjoyable narrative and exploration experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you liked DIVINITY then this game is for you, Wigmund is even better. Graphics are quite nice. Crafting is fun. Story is good. Bugs...yeah a few but....nothing game breaking...and the developers are on top of this and are fixing issues quickly. The game design choices all make sense and the systems work well. The new virtual storage was plain epic, and couldn't have come at a better time. Cheers.

The combat can be a bit clunky at times, but its... a little better than fine, i guess. Visuals are nice, audio is good. Music is a bit repetitive, but it fits in.
