The biggest problem this game has is that no one seems to know it exists. If you’re here reading this, you’re already one step away from adding a fantastic action RPG to your library. It’s a premium game with no microtransactions, and it launched with solid gameplay, distinct classes, and a strong endgame. The fact that it hasn’t received more attention is honestly a shame. It offers excellent skill customization, with free respecs at any time so you can experiment freely and really have fun…

The latest update has significantly harmed the overall game experience. The best farming areas were heavily nerfed, making resource gathering much slower and more exhausting than it already was. As a result, collecting the materials needed for crafting items went from being a tedious activity to becoming an extremely tedious task. Instead of adding new and interesting activities, the update only artificially extends the game's duration through excessive grinding. There is an NPC that requires…

I have enjoyed my time with the game, and got it for 15€ from Humble Store, so I'll recommend this. Get it from a deep sale. Compared to Last Epoch: + Combat feels snappier, feedback is better. + Character control feels better. LE has that floaty Unity movement. + Effects are cool and look nice. Better than LE in my opinion. - Massive maps waste your time at every turn. Compared to Diablo: + Leveling feels meaningful. + Power creep is managed better. + Currently no monetization schemes such…

I'm not the type of leaving reviews here on steam, but Dragonkin: The Banished deserves it! First of all, do not compare with POE, Diablo, POE 2 (you're going to frustrate yourself). There is already too much infight between them, Dragonkin is not a rival, it's an alternative and really well made. The game after the last update got a massive improvement and things are really fun in the game. - The skill system is pretty interesting and the learning curve can be very engaging. - I'm really…

If you love action RPGs and are now considered middle-aged, and you like D2 but not so much D1, and you played quite a bit of D3 when it came out, and you were kinda disappointed with D4 but have a love/hate relationship with it, and you love Grim Dawn and Titan Quest but are kinda meh on TQ2 (it’ll probably get better over time), then this game is for you!

The game feels ultra generic, kinda cheap and soulless and much more like a mobile game than a full-fledged ARPG. The loot (so far) feels unimpactful, same goes for the skill points you can allocate after a level up. Moving through a map and doing the little quests is so boring and spammy, that after only 4 hours of playing, it already feels like a chore to me. If you wanna try the game, I would advise you to refund if it doesn't click with you within the first 2 hours. I thought that…

I remember when I played the demo for this game prior to the EA release last year and was like, "wow this game is absolutely terrible." I didn't think I'd ever encounter this game on my Steam recommended again, but since it did at its 1.0 release, I figured I'd read some reviews. Everyone is extremely positive about this game, so I figured, "why not give it a try again, the price is reasonable and if I still hate it I can just refund it." Kudos to the development team. I have no idea what they…

Too clunky for my taste, especially the skill management, which is also not very varied. The loot is tied to the character’s level and it's quite boring. I’ll wait to see how the game evolves. For now, it’s a no.

Rating: ★★★☆☆ - Decent Time Played: 21.2 hours Difficulty: Progressive from Normal to Apocalypse Gameplay: - The Ancestral Grid is the standout mechanic, treating skill slotting as a spatial puzzle where keyword synergies matter. It has genuine depth, but it takes hours before you're actually using it meaningfully. - Combat feels punchy and responsive with solid enemy knockback feedback, though the satisfaction fades once you realise most enemies are just speed bumps rather than challenges. -…

I originally tried this game simply because it was something new to play in a genre that I've played just about every game in and, at first, it was really solid. The campaign was decent, the gameplay was okay, and it was pretty too. The further I made it in the campaign the worst it became. The voice acting is some of the worst I've ever heard in my 34+ years of gaming and the objectives were literally all the same. I knew exactly when one of the many "protect this NPC" would happen or "hold…

I went into Dragonkin: The Banished a bit unsure. The environments are impressive, but the character art style wasn’t really my thing at first. Then the gameplay won me over. The endgame is surprisingly deep, with 70 bosses—each with their own mechanics—and four different modes to dive into. Build variety is excellent thanks to the four classes, wyrmling customization, and flexible skill combinations. Multiplayer is the best I’ve seen in an ARPG since the PS2 era’s Dark Alliance 2, and the…

I honestly thought this would be a much better quality product, after spending a year in early access. Everything about this game is boring. I'm a huge fan of the isometric, loot based RPG's, but this is a truly sad representation. The story is incredibly dull, and the only "Loot" u find is the same set of armor and the same weapons...over and over...with minor stat improvements, as your character progresses in levels. There's no reward for exploration or combat, and the majority of the…

This game could be good if not for the obnoxious repetitiveness. from beginning to end this game will have you running past hordes of enemies to get to an objective across the map only to have to do it immediately again. Boss fights could be fun if you arent bored yet from the repetitiveness. the endgame is the samething but slower. I kind of hate this game, I just Bored-quit the final stage of an endgame map after they made me run back and forth 3 times on the same map and ALL the objectives…

Look, if you're looking for a straightforward action game with no frills, this is pretty great. If you're looking for an ARPG, look somewhere else. The game is incredibly rigid, you can't change weapons, classes are gender locked, and there's basically zero buildcrafting outside of the very narrow constraints the game give you. The lance and shield dude will always be the lance and shield dude, the mage girl will always be the mage girl, so the game is really more like Gauntlet with some loot…

After reading posts from the devs and thinking about my time with the game I have added more negative points and decided that I cannot recommend the game at this state. This game gives the impression that it should be fun, with quite a bit of effort put into art and layers of gameplay mechanics. Unfortunately, it is let down by poor coding around quest progression and multiplayer stability. For example, my group almost quit thinking that a quest objective was bugged and unable to be completed, only to find out that the quest kill target had to be left alive for a while to do a transformation sequence, and kiilling them before that point simply leaves the quest…

Only hopes and congratulations for the team for doing very good job and hope they will do more things for us. And faster. CONS: We need more end-game stuff. Pretty good hack and slash action RPG. Quick update after 1.0 release: The game is now out of early access, the developers added acts 2-3-4 for the campaign as promised. Overall it's a pretty good hack and slash/action RPG, easily recommended if you like the genre. It's fairly priced and it has quite a lot of content, you can easily play this game for 200/300+ hours if you play all classes and love grinding for loot. I hope the developers can add more end game content and maybe more classes…

Finally, a non-grindy, anti-carpal tunnel ARPG. It's been ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ years. I get in, I get my skills, I start doing dmg and getting loot ASAP. Then I get an awesome dragon (Wyrmling) pet that can wear armor, carry passives and skills. That's the game. Story's decent and easy to understand, environment's pretty. I feel like I'm forcing myself to finish the game and to say it's 'okay.' It's not. It's very, very average with some glaring problems keeping it from being great. 1. The maps are absolutely, mindbogglingly large and you if enjoy leveling up your city you will have to explore every corner in the hopes of finding the little interactive nodes for panorama views and relics. There is no reason for these maps to be this big and every single quest is on the other side of the map... but don't worry,…

I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game. It is exactly the type of game I wanted it to be with two exceptions. The hex system is a novel idea that is very poorly executed. Just looking at the hex fragments in my inventory is a chore because it's too difficult to distinguish between clusters. Then actually using them also feels like a chore. The effects can be great, but the entire system is painful. The story and voice acting are pretty lousy, but could be overlooked because the game thankfully…

The more i played the more frustrated I got, Im going to preface this with the fact that i have over 3k hours in POE 1&2 and thousands of hours in other ARPGS in general. Loot rarity seems to be tied to your level which makes early game progression ass and uninteresting. Really amazing game - until I made it to the highest difficulty, Apocalypse. The enemies there are significantly harder than on the next difficulty level and accordingly, some of them can be challenging, but most are still manageable (I've only played the rogue so far). What is not manageable, though, is the environmental damage. Today, I was doing mostly dungeon purifications (on Apocalypse), in the course of which I died a total of 27(!!) times. 8.5/10 8.5/10 in coop, probably 7.5-8 solo. This game borrowed some great ideas from Diablo 3, Grim Dawn, and Titan Quest and rolled them into one. It's tons of fun to play (once you get going) and would easily be a 9 or 9.5 for coop if it was less convoluted. Kind of a shame because it does so much so well and then tries shooting itself in the foot with many overly complex systems. The fun factor does outweigh the convolutedness though. This is a hidden gem of an ARPG. If you're an experienced ARPG player, this game will seem like just another average ARPG as you play through the first hour or two. Then as it slowly introduces all of it's mechanics, this is where it shines. Adding skills is like putting a puzzle together in a hex grid. The game has some fun elements. The combat is fun. The interface is very good. The main thing that needs to be changed is better loot. Even at the highest levels the loot is not good. Way too much common junk. If I am going to grind I want to get something that improves my character. That almost never happens.

I'll go straight for the head: This is one of the most underrated and most fun games I experienced in a while. Everything about it is surprisingly good and as such, I can calmly recommend it to everyone and anyone that likes aRPG genre(even to some newcomers). It's also very fairly priced and lacks any and every "attention jailer"(seasons, battlepasses etc). Finally, you can play it perfectly fine in either single or multiplayer mode. Neither seems to triumph over the other one. Which is so…

The game is a cheap imitation of D4, that completely misused the graphical ability of UE5. Just like Wolcen wasted the cryengine on their endless boring loop of endgame. What these 2 games have in common? They both removed or abandoned the carrot on the stick i.e. (yang's recurve, dagger of darts, that stupid axe swhord in PoE starforge, that makes these genre survive through many contents. There's no reason to farm anything but a dumb stat stick gears. There's no personality or identity. It's…

Cheap and clunky. Feels like it was made 20 years ago but not in a good way.

Last night in bg3 I came across the queer tentacle erotica... which is pretty surprising to find in such a big project game. Between that and all the Dragonkin... and the way my character choices led to a character who smirks like me during dialogue... I'm hooked.

Mediocre and complicated. Buy this on a steep discount and enjoy the first few hours. Dodge mechanic is terribly implemented - it doesnt have animation cancelling so you are always waiting to dodge. Its maddening They did try do some interesting things and I can see the influence of Wolcen in the game, but the movement set is so bad that I wont ever play this enough to enjoy the cool parts
