unlabelledView post →I enjoy the game, but I can't recommend it as a product in its current state for two reasons: 1. Though this is not mentioned on the store page and can only be found at the very bottom of their EULA, DBFZ does include Denuvo DRM, stripping legal customers of true ownership of the game. If this had been clearly labelled on the store page like it is with most Denuvo games, I wouldn't have bought the game. 2. DBFZ uses Easy Anti Cheat, which does support Steam Deck, but the developers chose not…

Hope I can return to play this game, one day. If they update EasyAnticheat, i will update this review as positive.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been playing Dragon Ball Fighterz again after not really appreciating it at launch. I really slept on this game, it looks great and It's a lot more fun than the other ball twisting kinda fighters I've played recently.
unlabelledView post →Did you know that enabling Linux support on easy-anti-cheat tends to be only checking one box? Now you know, and bandai is lazy enough to not do it, at this point its just malicious.

unlabelledView post →The game is really fun, has great visuals, but it still is simple enough for a kid to master it (my 5th grade students beat my ass using Super Broly)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Did you know? In Dragon Ball FighterZ, the character Super Baby 2 didn't make an appearance in the base game because producer Tomoko Hiroki didn't want people hitting babies? However, after losing to an infant who button-mashed as Bardock, she felt "it was about time".
unlabelledView post →This game is just as cool as when it first released. The graphics are incredible. The character roster is not perfect, but it's more than passable. The system is easy to learn, and hard to master. Overall, good game. However, if you're buying it *for the first time*, I would just fully recommend against it. While the combat system has beginner-friendly bits and bobs attached, the majority of people who still play this game are people who've been playing it for hundreds, if not thousands of…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not big into fighter games (minus the Marvel Capcom ones) but love Dragonball and the fighting game it has. Had this on Switch way back and always wanted it on the Steam Deck, waited for a good sale. Very easy to get running with GE-proton to bypass the anti-cheat system (install via Desktop Mode). Game SHOULD just let you play it offline with no cheat system needed. But, oh well. Played nearly all the old DBZ games off the SNES and up. This one is one of the best to experience the story…

Natively, this game does not even launch on steamdeck (maybe Linux in general) even with SteamOS's built-in compatibility layers. There is a fix, and it works fine. Download ProtonUp-Qt > install latest proton version > relaunch steam > launch DBFZ. Cool. All systems nominal. Even online works!... Until I get booted due to anti-cheat discriminating against Linux. This is a long…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Basically all my playtime has been me in training mode labbing stuff, as I've only played a few online matches to test the netcode. It's honestly frightening how much fun it is to think up team combinations or find ways to optimize your gameplan/combos. It's one of the most expressive and creative fighters I've played. Truly a game for the fighting game freaks of the world to sink their teeth into. Even in 2025 its a fantastic way to spend your time and money as its still being updated 7 years…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dragon Ball FighterZ made me. My first team game I got good in, this is the game that made me who I am today. Looking back there are mechanics I don't love today, but the ability to smother an opponent was never stronger. I'll miss you Season 1
unlabelledView post →It’s been eight years now, and this game has existed as multiple different games over its lifespan—almost like the Marvel vs. series, except you’re only ever allowed to play the latest version. The one thing that’s remained consistent since early 2018 is this: either you actually play the game (at an intermediate level or higher) and have some legitimate gripes you’d like changed, or you don’t play it at all and just dogpile it for things you’ve heard but don’t fully understand. It’s 2026…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a giant Dragon Ball Z fan watched the show on Toonami, I suck ass at this game but nothing will stop me from living the hypest moments in this game even if I am losing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DBFZ is by far one of the most stylish and entertaining fighting games I've ever played!! I'm very much a visual person, so when the supers and finishing moves come in, it's beautiful. The combos are easy enough to learn, and there's so many different combos of characters and assists! And it's so amazing that we just got an update AND a new character coming soon!! I'm hoping that this means we can possibly get more soon. My only issue is that I wish there was a way to play with friends…

Pros + Compelling MVC style gameplay + Has rollback now + Beautiful animation + Android 21 + The tide turning Dragon Wish mechanic Mid: ~ I like the dramatic finishes, but having them be tied to stage is stupid Cons: - Too many buttons can do an auto-combo - Cumbersome menu - Please give us more stages - Fairly aggressive DLC - Worthless and antiquated DRM that makes it take a long time to load the game - They stopped giving…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DRAGON BALL FighterZ is a fast, flashy 3v3 tag fighting game that’s clearly built as both a competitive fighter and a love letter to the anime. It’s easy to enjoy on spectacle alone—huge supers, dramatic camera angles, and constant momentum—but it also has real depth once you start learning team synergy and pressure. At its core, the combat is about controlling space with quick normals, strong universal movement options, and explosive conversions. You’re usually trying to turn a single clean…

unlabelledView post →Dragon Ball FighterZ is probably my favorite fighting game of all time. No other ArcSys or anime fighter managed to give me the smoothness and experience that this game did. No doubt the DB IP being tied into it helped a lot but I think the community around it and the things you could do in the game definitely made it a multiple year experience worth going along with. As of today the game is in this sunset space where it just exists despite a new character coming out not too long ago which is…

unlabelledView post →ngl this game is peak i played it years ago on switch, not for long. now i play on pc often and its fun af, would definitely recommend to dragon ball fans or fighting game fans. lowkey just play a lot and youll catch on and get good. controller is way better than keyboard for this type of game so i recommend getting one if you dont have one. unless youre a keyboard warrior lmfao.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game aged wonderfully after how mediocre the last couple of new FG's were, despite its light execution theres still a ton of reward for having solid defense and an easy shutdown to the "auto offense" button unlike every other modern FG , single player is lackluster compared to most other DB games, the lack of costumes could be annoying, but theres so SOOO much love in every ounce of the movesets, the VA's all gave a stellar performance, the animations are consistently great, I'm still…
