Double Team
A CIA agent is interned for failing to kill an international terrorist. Escaping from his island exile, he teams up with a flamboyant arms dealer and sets out to find the terrorist and rescue the agent's family. Together they're a two-man arsenal... with enough voltage to rock the free world. From TMDB

unlabelledView post →You ever watch a movie you have to take breaks for because it's Just So Damn Much? We haven't even hit the halfway point of Double Team (1997) with Jean Claude Van Damme. It's so fucking insane lol. He humps a bathtub in a workout montage
unlabelledView post →Who wants to drink some beer and watch some Jean Claude Van Damme and Dennis Rodman in the hit film Double Team. Trick question everyone wants that.
unlabelledView post →1st movie of '26; Tsui Hark's DOUBLE TEAM, the lesser batshit homoerotic Hollywood movie of 1997 directed by a Hong Kong action veteran & featuring our hero being trapped in a high-tech prison in the middle act. Still a blast, jumbled pieces vibrating w/ energy like a theme park ride about to bust.
unlabelledView post →In case you wanted to watch the movie for tomorrows episode, it's 1997's Double Team. Which can be found on youtube in at least two places. It's a ludicrous riot.
unlabelledView post →I have walked in Jean-Claude Van Damme's shoes. Literally. My parents bid on a pair of shoes that he wore in the film "Double Team" at a silent auction and got them. I, being a dumb high schooler, wore them all the time even though they were super-uncomfortable (because, again, dumb high schooler).

unlabelledView post →I think this is only my fourth time seeing a Tsui Hark film in a theater, after DOUBLE TEAM, KNOCK OFF and FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE IMAX 3D.
unlabelledView post →#nowwatching Double Team.
unlabelledView post →B-Fest with CatBusRuss & ThePoeticCritic & "There's Nothing Out There" CatBusRuss watches films like “Truth of Dare (1988)”, “The Transformers: The Movie”, and “Double Team” at B-Fest to return and watch a horror comedy from Troma with Nix from @cinemashitshow.bsky.social. #filmsky #moviesky
unlabelledView post →Listen, for reasons that will go unexplained I have seen every Van Damme movie from his first roles to JCVD. This one is a banger. Double Team? Trash.
unlabelledView post →What this movie lacks in plot, it tries to make up for in sheer stupidity. #KungFuSat #DoubleTeam
unlabelledView post →I also reccommend Double Team. That movie is insane.
unlabelledView post →I love to watch an unintentionally bad action film, but there are a few that I end up unironically loving. Cinematic excellence. Movie-making masterpieces. That being said, you should all watch "Double Team", and also listen to this absolute Crystal Waters banger. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVtz...
unlabelledView post →We believe DOUBLE TEAM is underrated (but pretend Dennis Rodman isn't in the film)
unlabelledView post →Mind blowing that the Jean Claude Van Damme and Dennis Rodman movie Double Team was produced by Columbia Pictures. How did the most risk averse studio ever formed put up the money for… that
unlabelledView post →Very treasured memory of Sophie showing this to me and prefacing it with “it’s cool but it’s sort of nonsensical”, but we had just a few days before watched the other tsui hark JCVD movie Knock Off so in comparison Double Team was basically completely logical to me. Banger movie.
unlabelledView post →They ripped off the whole Village idea for that JCVD movie DOUBLE TEAM. The only thing I remember about that part of the movie is that insane training montage where JCVD lifts a bathtub for some reason. #FlicksForAll
unlabelledView post →I still can’t forgive Jean Claude Van Damme for being MAGA when he did the movie Double Team which is one of the best LGBTQ+ and Trans inclusionary movies to ever exist. He mixed BDSM homoeroticism with cybertech and then was like JK IM ACTUALLY AGAINST THIS.
unlabelledView post →When i was a kid i got him mixed up with dennis rodman sometimes. I think because dennis played in Double Team which is an action movie too
unlabelledView post →Just so I understand, they forced Jack back into service with the CIA, then claimed he had gone soft because he wouldn't shoot an enemy operative embracing his kid? Was this movie, like, intentional anti-CIA propaganda? #KungFuSat #DoubleTeam
unlabelledView post →Not to wish death on anyone, but this makes what happens to him in Double Team *especially* satisfying. Anyone who doesn’t know what I’m talking about…oh you’re in for a treat if you seek that film out.
unlabelledView post →Just watched Double Team (1997), directed by Tsui Hark, and I'm wondering what the hell is with the negative reception, this movie is fucking awesome, and not in an ironic way, this is just such a cool, stylish and wildly entertaining film 👍👍
unlabelledView post →Double Team is a pretty bad movie that dares to ask what if JCVD lost the ability to do the splits for awhile. Dennis Rodman also plays a character that is not a famous champion basketball player but makes basketball puns almost constantly.
unlabelledView post →Double Team (1997). A goofy spy action movie with JCVD and Dennis Rodman. Watch Van Dame fight a tiger in the Colliseum.
unlabelledView post →You got confused a bit there with Lam. Tsui Hark directed “Double Team” with Van Damme and Rodman. Simon Sez was directed by the guy who wrote the Albert Pyun movie Raven Hawk.
unlabelledView post →Hahaha did he survive Double Team a masterpiece of a film lol
unlabelledView post →Me meeting Dennis Rodman at the Big Event Wrestling Convention, a few years ago. I liked his 2 tag team matches at WCW Bash at the Beach (1997 and 1998). I liked the action film “Double Team,” Congrats to Dennis for being in the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame.
unlabelledView post →Now seated for Double Team (1997) This is part of a monthly series of genre film screenings, where we don't find out what's playing until showtime. It's one of my favorite parts of every month. 📽️ #FilmSky #NowWatching
unlabelledView post →Double Team, Knock Off, Time and Tide, Legend of Zu, and Black Mask 2 is one of the most powerful 5 film streaks by any director ever.
unlabelledView post →Gotta appreciate a movie with Tony Lister and Trevor Goddard. RIP It’s a risk with Tsui Hark. They can’t all be Rodman & JCVD in “Double Team”. I have yet to hate a Lance Henriksen movies. (I have not seen his “Piranha” or “Hellraiser” contributions. #filmsky #moviesky #horrorsky
unlabelledView post →My ★★★½ review of Double Team (1997) on @letterboxd: boxd.it/b3pZB3
unlabelledView post →Like in the movie Double Team when JCVD says his plan is not to have a plan because they will be expecting him to have one.
unlabelledView post →I miss 90's action films, they were so fucking weird. Watching Double Team, despite the soft rock the film chose to put on the soundtrack, this isn't in fact a porno.
unlabelledView post →Was great to see you! I was a little in and out but got to catch several things of note - my first time at DOUBLE TEAM! it is a silly film
unlabelledView post →that movie rocks but no it’s Knock Off and Double Team so it’s gonna be extra freaky
unlabelledView post →Is it worse than the Coke product placements in Double Team? We'll never know because none of us are gonna see this movie.
unlabelledView post →That's how I saw Double Team starring Jean-Claude Van Damme in the summer of '97. College apartment had no AC but a $1.50 movie theatre called the Starship 9 was just down the street.
unlabelledView post →Think one best scene in the film Might do Bloodsport tomorrow if your game Brought Double Team, you ever seen that it JCVD n Dennis Rodman
unlabelledView post →I saw a "Best-Of" DOUBLE TEAM clip reel once and was inspired to watch the whole movie - MISTAKE. I know better now, this was great and...all I need to see. You've done a good service sharing this. Thank you. #FoolMeOnce

unlabelledView post →I am not a fan of most of Jean Claude's movies but I love Double Team. It's just a good ass cheesy movie!
unlabelledView post →JCVD had it rough after Street Fighter. I'm glad he's at peace with his young wild years. He aged with grace and at least didn't go full Russian defector like Seagal. Check out Double Team if you like some more dumb fun action movie from that era of JCVD
unlabelledView post →Love me some Silver Shamrock! =) Hrm. This may also be not-quite-an-answer, but have you seen DOUBLE TEAM (1997)? Only saw it the once in the theater, but it's kind of burned into my brain b/c it looked like someone wanted to write/make THE PRISONER as a movie but only had D TEAM to work with. =)
unlabelledView post →#196: Double Team They really Double Team'ed that guy. This movie almost works. Unfortunately the editing really hurts it, and the story drops some of its most interesting ideas really quickly. Why does Dennis Rodman keep having poorly ADRed basketball-themed one liners? #filmsky 5/10
unlabelledView post →Not relevant, I have not liked a movie since Double Team
unlabelledView post →Romeo Must Die is fantastic! And while I haven't seen Simon Sez so I can't speak to that, if you want to check another Rodzilla flick, watch Double Team. Fantastic movie.
unlabelledView post →WAIT SOMEONE ELSE REMEMBERS DOUBLE TEAM?!!?! It's so incredibly stupid and great. It's like an action movie fever dream
unlabelledView post →Double Team is ACTUALLY a movie within a movie. As in, they crammed a totally unrelated spy movie into the middle of a Dennis Rodman movie.
unlabelledView post →Have you seen his movie, Double Team, with Dennis Rodman?
unlabelledView post →The best Dennis Rodman film is Double Team
unlabelledView post →It's a great pick, an extremely fun film. I think my personal favourite is either Double Team or Hard Target
unlabelledView post →I have a deep, unapologetic love of Double Team (1997). It's not JCVD's best movie - that's Sudden Death (1995) - but it's a bonkers masterpiece.
unlabelledView post →Kickboxer is really good and JCVD is almost angelic in it. Bloodsport has the better villain and Forest Whitaker. I really need to do a JCVD movie marathon. I haven't seen Double Team in the longest.
unlabelledView post →My mandela effect is that I swear the movies Demolition Man & Double Team were the same movie. It starred Jean-Claude Van Damme as lead and Wesley Snipes as the villain. The movie was the plot of Demolition Man, but with Double Team's finale. I don't know why I have this clear memory, but I do.
unlabelledView post →Revivals and remakes: A Doll’s Life (Broadway) Moose Murders (Broadway) American Passion (Off-Broadway) Double Team (action movie) Random Hearts (drama movie) Krull (fantasy Sci-Fi movie) Black Dog (trucker action movie)
unlabelledView post →The movie Double Team is different than I remember.
unlabelledView post →That opening sequence is great, and to be fair the rest of the movie struggles to live up to it, but as JCVD flicks go, it's pretty solid. Compare with Double Team, which I am watching as I type. Or should I say; I don't know why I am watching, etc. All kinds of terrible.
unlabelledView post →The plot of DIE HARD became a genre in and of itself. A fortunately competent JCVD film, which promised much opportunity for the work of his film career, but which peaked at KNOCK OFF and DOUBLE TEAM, with a bump in JCVD that did not reflect his own personal life Path, or we would have more like it
unlabelledView post →It's badass season for my favourite podcasters Bald Move, so I just watched Double Team from 1997. It's a hilarious pile of trash, I loved it! Just a few things that happen in this film: Van Damme and Dennis Rodman fall out of a plane in a giant basketball. Van […] [Original post on mas.to]
