Developer CAPCOM Co., Ltd., GOG.com
Dino Crisis 2 is a 2000 action-adventure game developed by Capcom Production Studio 4 and published by Capcom for the PlayStation. It is the second installment in the Dino Crisis series, with designer Shu Takumi taking over as game director from Shinji Mikami from the first game. The narrative continues the story of special operative Regina, who must deal with the fallout of a time-distorting event which transports… From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0)

I am a native Spanish speaker from Argentina and this game is the sole reason i decided to learn to speak English, so that i could understand the story of this game back when i was 6 years old more than 20 years ago, playing it on my old PC with my CRT monitor. Thanks to this game and my newfound obsession to understand the language it was in, i was learning more and more english every day and I started getting straight As in my english class during…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thanks Capcom for acknowledging Dino Crisis existing I hope the original Resident Evil trilogy come to Steam next Edit: I found out this version has implemented the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Enigma DRM, if you don't want this junk on your system I highly recommend to refund (or not buy) the game on Steam and buy it on GOG instead, since it's exactly the same version without the DRM. This is also the case for Dino Crisis 1, both ports are fine but are ruined by the DRM implementation.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Doesn't work on the Steamdeck out of the box. Partially because of the added DRM, and partially because capcom didn't do anything beyond repackaging GOG's release with added DRM. Pathetic.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DRM No achievement Not compatible with any of mods/improvements out there No actual controller supports. The game itself is good Tank control is just not really for keyboard
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sadly way more attractive then the a few months before released GOG Version. Its a great game which i still own in original and love but: - No Linux Steam Deck possible (Thx to enigma) - Some Sound Bugs which did not exist on the GOG Version - There is no possibility to close the game (Even ALT+F4 did not work!) - Overall a bad port Save your money and get the GOG Version.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dino Crisis AND Dino Crisis 2 are now on GOG! Y'all know how much I love these games, so go play them in my honor! Or just, idk, play them anyway! 🦕 www.gog.com/en/game/dino...

unlabelledView post →I love the Dino Crisis series. I don't like random unnecessary Russian made DRMs like "The Enigma Protector". Refunding and will gladly pay $200+ for a physical copy of the original PS1 game rather than having a red flag of a DRM try to install something in my registry. The first red flag? When I select "Start Game" I'm prompted with a message to Chack not Check, "Chack Register. Do you want to register the registry?" Suspicious.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought both 1&2 and was disappointed with the added drm to such an old game. Can't even play on steamdeck. Capcom is really out of touch, skip this version.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →'Dino Crisis' and 'Dino Crisis 2' are now available on GoG. www.gog.com/en/game/dino...
unlabelledView post →It does not work on the steam deck by default. It will not go past the launch screen and it does not recognizes the controls. There are manual fixes to get it running.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still the greatest Dino Survival game of all time. Pros; - Dinosaurs - Playstation 1 Classic - Survival Horror but ARCADE SHOOTER - Made before dino games became full of scams - Regina is hot and has a fat ass - Dylan is okay I guess Cons; - No remake :((((((((((
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Please port RE1-RE2-RE3 (Classics) TO STEAM with Achievements and REMOVE ENIGMA DRM Please don't punish people paying for the game. ENIGMA DRM GETS CRACKED IN ONE DAY!!!! Release the game without DRM PLEASE!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beat Dino Crisis! Loved it! Playing Dino Crisis 2 and uh... This is a literal straight line with zero survival mechanics and nothing but shooting I'm confused by everyone saying this game was excellent. So far this is pointless noise to me, does it become anything neat? Should I stick with it?
unlabelledView post →Are Dino Crisis 2 and 3 worth playing? Having seen most of the first game now, I can easily say it's excellent and actually pretty underrated! Though while I've heard that sentiment before already, I never hear anything about the other two

unlabelledView post →It's a good classic game, and really fun to play. If you love the first Dino Crisis, you'll gonna like Dino Crisis 2. PS: Just remake the game CAPCOM.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(Same thing as Dino Crisis 1 so Im just copy-pasting my review of that here) I love Dino Crisis 1 & 2 and I want to see interest in this series revived, or for Capcom to realize that there are eager fans out here waiting for a Remake. So buying these 2 games on Steam was a no-brainer for me. What you get here is the GOG version of the game which is a pretty passable way to experience the games. Including texture filtering, Anti Aliasing, variable resolutions etc. And it ran for me pretty well…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Happy to see both 1 and 2 finally on Steam, hope Capcom do the same for all the RE games still missing from Steam and hope Dino Crisis 1 and 2 being on Steam leads to the series being revived
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know why everyone knows Capcom as Resident Evil, when this was Capcom's best game at the time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Inferior versions of the Dino Crisis games, thanks to the 3rd party DRM that ruins the audio and is completely unnecessary for a 30 year old series. Do yourself a favor and get these and the OG Resident Evil games on GoG along with REbirth patches. DRMs on retro games is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a damn nostalgia trip. I remember playing this when I was 11 years old on someone else's chipped PS1 console. The game is action-packed fun. You get rewarded for simply playing the game and unlock unique weapons for each character. On top of that is the combo system that earns you points that is used to purchase the aforementioned weapons. Story-wise, it blew my mind as a kid. Obviously now as a man in his 30s I do not think it is as impressive anymore and there are inconstencies…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm conflicted on this. I love Dino Crisis 1 and 2 but As of now i can't recommend this. Feels worse than the GOG version DRM added to this version for those that hate it. Controls feel more tanky this version. Gonna sink more time to see if maybe plays better.. I also get it it's an older game but this port feels half assed. Also no Achievements? Would have bin pretty sweet. Can't even shut the game off properly (NOT EVEN ALT+F4) Will change it later but as of now its a wait and see. At…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DYLAN! you son of a b1ch! Run just as good as I remember. Only issue right now is that the intro videos are all ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with red colors for some reason. Might need an update or two.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bring Classic Resident Evil 1, 2, 3, Code Veronica, Outbreak 1,2 and Dead Aim to Steam as well Capcom. Just Do It.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Please add proper settings with scanlines and gamepad support. Please add Steam Deck support. Please add the original Resident Evil games to Steam. Please add achievements. Please delete DRM
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →T-REX-CITED TO FINALLY PLAY THIS AGAIN! EVEN VELOCI-WRAPPED IN CHILDHOOD TRAUMA A few days ago I randomly thought about this game, the one that psychologically mugged me on PS1. Fast forward to yesterday and boom, it’s on Steam. Destiny? Fate? Capcom sensing unfinished childhood business? Probably all three. Back in the day, I had two major problems: 1. The eerie atmosphere had me on edge 24/7, every corridor felt like something was breathing down my neck. 2. I somehow ended up with the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Now this THIS was a videogame, man. No nonsense, no fluff, no padding. Just running and gunning dinos for hours getting your combo count to the moon so that you can buy the next stupidly overpowered weapon to do it even better. For beginning to end, hunting for the next no-damage 20-combo room so that you can finally see if those rumors about the secret boss velociraptors are true. For hours. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Some boring-ass, beige-blooded, vanilla-ice-cream sipping…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a dumb waste of money. I bought this expecting at least some steam achievements, but there's no steam integration at all. Just go buy the DRM-free version on GoG.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's true that its a cool weird transitional game that's fun to think about but more to the point, i feel that the steam banner art makes it look like a t-rex is yelling "DINO CRISIS 2" at you
unlabelledView post →Like most PC ports of retro games this is close to bare minimum, although to be fair I have seen worse, it seems there are small improvements in terms of sound and visual stability. At least they added modern controller functionality (read the store page for what is supported), I can confirm Xbox-one is working, but you will have to use one of the 3 presets in the game settings (keyboard can be remapped via the in-game options as well). They also have added some generic screen settings as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's so sad Dino Crisis died from Enigma. And no, not the dinosaur. Enigma balls Capcom.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dino Crisis 2 takes a very different direction compared to the first game. While the original leaned heavily into survival and puzzles, this sequel shifts almost entirely toward fast-paced action. You play as Regina and Dylan Morton, with differences mainly coming from their weapon styles and combat approach. That said, this distinction is fairly surface-level and doesn’t really evolve into something meaningful enough to stand out as a core strength. What I did enjoy is that the game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Run and gun game with dinosaurs. What's not to like. Would recommend. P.S. Capcom please make a true Dino Crisis 3 to address the cliff hanger of this game I BEG
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately still subpar release compared to emulation via Duckstation but its great to have these more easily available for people
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PLZ remake this Capcom gods!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Valve has pushed an update to Proton Experimental that has fixed the DRM launcher errors for these games on Steam Deck/Linux, so at least you can actually play them now despite Capcom's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Still, we should still be asking for Steam Cloud support at least because it's frankly ridiculous that we're still getting new game releases that don't have that in 2026.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Im beyond excited to play my childhood game !! Just wish it was a remaster atleast, with improved controls
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I switched to Linux almost a year ago and, congratulations Capcom, you've managed to release the first game I have tried playing so far that did not run perfectly out of the box and that actually does not run at all because it crashes immediately upon start because of some borked Windows registry manipulation hacks. Also: DRM for a game from 1999? Seriously? Game refunded. I'm just gonna play my old PSX ISO in an emulator instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really nostalgic playing again at the age of 30... Brings back memories playing together with my brother and father, taking turns and getting to the end. Thank you so much for making my childhood awesome.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Part two of the series chose violence Dino Crisis 2 pivots hard into action. And it absolutely works. - Combo systems - Score chaining - Branching paths - Replay value through the roof It feels faster, louder, and more confident with intensified dinosaur chaos that defines the series. The moment-to-moment gameplay is kinetic. Raptors don’t just exist as threats, they’re part of a combo flow, earning you points throughout the game. You’re encouraged to engage, to master spacing, to move with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm gonna post the same review I posted on Dino Crisis 1, because it's very important and I'm a dedicated fan of classic Capcom games. To everyone who wants this series to come back, get remade OR want a re-release of RE1,2 and 3 on steam or even get a remaster of them, please for the love of God, buy this game and the first one. Now I understand that DRM sucks and it ruins gaming, but you have to understand that if more people will buy this and we'll show our interest, the higher the chance…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Capcom, give Dino Crisis the same treatment as Resident Evil Please!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First play this game when i was 7. That's 25 years ago. I've been playing it intensively since 17 years ago every ramadaan,at least i'll finished it once a year. So happy when they ported this game to Steam this year,i still waiting for the remake but, this one is okay. First time playing it legally. I'm so happy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →#randomgameSaturday Dino Crisis 2 - PS1 - 2000 - Capcom A dinosaur Survival horror game with a greater emphasis on action than the first game in the series. 🦕
unlabelledView post →Dino Crisis is an interesting series. In part it is because of the concept, and in part it is because of how different they are from each other. Dino Crisis 1 is a survival horror game that feels very much like playing Resident Evil, but with dinosaurs instead of zombies / mutants. Dino Crisis 2 does not. It has the same graphics and the same aiming system, complete with fixed cameras, but little else feels the same. Ammo is never a problem. If you run out, you just refill at the next station…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Remove DRM from this classic ( my review will change when it's removed from both dino crisis 1 & 2 and all 3 of the og re games)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →unlike Dino Crisis 1. DC2 totally different gameplay it all about gunning down dinosaurs. no issue on pc but game wont run on Steamdeck due to DRM registry "DRM for 26 years old game that is DRM free on GOG"!!! Capcom will always be Capcom!! Story and the ending is great. DC2 is must play game. --- Capcom plz DC3 and MH 1-3.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game 342: Dino Crisis 2 If you play Dino Crisis 2 expecting more of the survival horror from the first game, you'll be disappointed. But if you play expecting an explosive, action-packed shooting game, then you'll have one hell of a good time with one of the most fun games the PS1 has to offer.

We have been begging CAPCOM to give this IP some love! Once you buy it, make sure to head straight to the guides on how to unf*ck this port, due to the botched resolution of the cutscenes and the terrible sound quality of this game. After installing the Mulderland update package, this will take you straight back to your childhood, where you…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game started for me fine, I had to verify it through Microsoft though. For those of you not having a proper controller support, I made one it might need tweaking a bit but feel free to try it, I'll add the link in my review. I hope you all enjoy the game, lets hope the series get's the resident evil 2 remake love it deserves. steam://controllerconfig/4249140/3665756671
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Also it’s not lost on me just how much Dino Crisis 2 DNA this has. Curious if the game influenced this in any way.
unlabelledView post →Same issues like the first one: -no cloud save -no english subtitles -no achievements -limited saves F9 to return to title, and another F9 to close the game. Never played DC2 when I was a kid, so this is new for me. Compared to DC1, DC2 felt like the development was rushed, I think they had so many ideas but couldn't stick to one. The beginning felt like a drag: a lot of back and forth through the maps. Jumping in water level sucks. DC2 is more of an action game than solving puzzles Resident…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Takes everything from the first game and cranks it up. The shift to full action works great and chaining dinosaur kills for combo points never gets boring. More variety, more chaos, more fun.
