positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great game, i love how its so beginner friendly as you can find loot caches at the back of the large spaceship and at the very edge of the maps. If you are having trouble progressing just go in a random direction until it says you have entered the ecological death zone (this means that there are no dangerous creatures) and there you will eventually find an upgrade for your system which will begin to leave tips for further progression into the game. Goodluck! <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game thinking it was a peaceful underwater exploration game. 🌊 First 10 minutes: “Wow, beautiful fish, coral reefs, relaxing music.” 30 minutes later: WHAT WAS THAT SOUND 1 hour later: I hear a distant roar. The water turns dark. Something large moves in the distance. Then I meet the love of my life: Reaper Leviathan This creature’s hobbies include: screaming directly into your soul grabbing your submarine giving you permanent psychological trauma Meanwhile the game expects…

In the lawsuit, they argue that Krafton was aware of their roles and that Cleveland was working on a Subnautica film — that Krafton requested.

unlabelledView post →I’ve not been following the Subnautica 2 drama, but the bits and pieces I’ve picked up secondhand sound nuts. “Video game CEO in shambles after employees create very good game that sells extremely well, panics and loses $250 million.” Like. Uh. Sorry, buddy? That’s rough, I guess?

It’s such a rare and wonderful thing to play a video game where the end-goal is to build, rather than destroy; to heal, rather than to kill.

The world is immersive and the amazing music really adds to the atmosphere and tension. It can feel a bit slow at times but the exploration, mystery and overall vibe make it really worth playing. 🎚️ Difficulty 🔲 My grandmother could play it 🔲 Easy 🔲 Normal ☑️ Hard (It is hard until you understand it.) 🔲 A challenge to be…

And in the spirit of keeping this review vague so others may experience what I did, all I will say is that this game is one of a kind. I yearn for games like this set in alien oceans. The base building in this game is simple and fairly enjoyable, and this is from someone who dislikes base building in pretty much any game. Exploration is integral and rewarding, as you get to learn more about the world you are in and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just noticed that Subnautica 2 is the most wishlisted/followed game on Steam due out this year. By a large margin, too. The same Subnautica 2 that is apparently going to be self-published by the devs now after Krafton decided to self-destruct over having to pay bonuses. They're gonna make bank.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game because I thought, "Hey, It looks interesting enough. It's very nice and shark looking animals are pretty cool." I was wrong. This isn't a "fun underwater exploration game." This is a Terror Management Simulator disguised as a marine biology project. The First 10 Minutes is wow, look at the pretty fish. A beautifully made adventure/survival experience set within a large and varied underwater world full of interesting and exciting flora and fauna. Strong story elements prevent stagnation and boredom and lead the player to new and changing biomes. Whilst necessary for progression, the crafting and collection elements are minimal and without the repetition or slog of most open-world survival games.…

Was dropping this game twice because of how scary it was but was still enamored with the idea that I kept coming back. Had to play in 20 minutes segments each day to get used to it. You play as Ryley Robinson, the seemingly only survivor of a crash, after your captain mysteriously changed routes. Using what resources around you you need to survive and explore trying to find a way off the planet. But you quickly learn you are not at the top of the food chain. I find Subnautica perfectly…

It has helped me during darker times of my life, and i still think it lives up as a great game years after it released. The atmosphere of this game is amazing, it has a way of making you feel so small in this big ocean world. And the silent player person makes *you* feel like you're there and let's you react to the world around you. The storyline is great, and the graphics still look great.
