unlabelledView post →Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the best Star Wars game cause it has a side quest where you recruit weird aliens to hang out at your friend's bar. It's basically Digimon World but Star Wars.

unlabelledView post →Great game, it is basically Digimon World 1 with a lot of quality of life features, if you loved that game or you had virtual pets as a kid you should pick it up. If you want the best experience I'd recommend playing on Easy, as that was basically the intended Normal difficulty, all it does is increase the stats gained from training and money gained by 50%. This is more in line with how the original Vita game was. The gameplay itself will still be difficult, but you won't need to spend an…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay I’m no game dev but can we talk about what a rare game #Digimon World is? Taking Tamagochi virtual pet simulator and put it in a large overworld exploration game is something I never see outside of Digimon. We need more virtual pet games that combine other game genres like this. #Indiedev
unlabelledView post →The Digimon Story: Time Stranger demo is GOOD STUFF: store.steampowered.com/app/1984270/... It's such a leap from Cyber Sleuth, not only in presentation but also in quality of life features & difficulty. High chances of becoming the best Digimon game ever (nostalgia for Digimon World aside lol)
unlabelledView post →The game fills a very specific niche, if you're into the pet caring/taming aspect like Tamagotchi or the original Digmon World, you might like this game. The game has the foundations to be a very fun game. Your pets can evolve into very unexpected digimon, which adds that sense of anticipation of "what's next". Exploring the world, helping out and recruiting digimon for your city, unlocking new quality of life aspects to make your pet taming easier, is very rewarding. The foundations are all…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of those games I have to "Recommend" with some notes: It's very close to the original Digimon World which was released for PSX. First and foremost this is a digital pet sim game with many of the same and sometimes frustrating gameplay elements. Your digimon poop. Some poop more than others. You need to either stop what you are doing and locate a toilet asap or use a disposable item ASAP. Can't do either because you are in the middle of a pirate ship? Too bad. Care mistake for…

unlabelledView post →Digimon World 3/2003 and the DS Digimon games are objectively The Coolest Thing Ever™, with superb pixel art, music & vibes... ... but are also grindy as hell and extremely poorly designed. So the mods & cheats are like "remove game from game, I just wanna vibe".

That all changed when I got my grubby little hands on Digimon World 4 and it made me feel, for the first time,,, that This Game is Complete Ass

unlabelledView post →At this point, I haven't quite got the 100% in this game, but I still intend to follow through with it. There's not much variety in the gameplay I have remaining, so my final thoughts are set in stone. I cannot genuinely recommend this game to anyone who doesn't fit in a fairly niche audience. Also even if you do fit the niche audience, don't go for the 100%. It's not worth it. This game is aggressively grindy. Going for the 100% makes this issue infinitely worse. My main issue with the game…

unlabelledView post →This game has so much busy work in it that I just can't get into it. A lot of people called out the grinding as being too much, but what gets to be too much is the pet care system. My digimon have to sh#! every 10 minutes and you have to stop what you're doing and rush to a bathroom or they crap themselves. What's worse is in the little tutorial system it hints at there being an unknown penalty if they crap themselves 16 times. I'm not sticking around to figure out what it is.

unlabelledView post →Definitely wait till the game goes on sale, because it can easily be bought for like $7-10. With that price in mind, this game is 100% worth it. It has a surprising amount of content. The story isn't anything crazy but it is quite absurd and funny at times, which is pretty close to how the anime tends to be. This game is pretty heavily knowledge-based; I'm trying to play it without looking things up if possible, but you can skip that feature of the game by doing so. That being said, there's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So I will open that I do actually love this game, however its flaws are glaring and it is already filling a niche, so I cannot recommend it to anyone checking the steam reviews to check whether to buy it or not, even on sale. I love this continuation of the first digimon world. I hope they make another one of these games, but if and when they do they need to fix a lot of the end game, resource collection, level signifiers, and add better roadblocks instead of the half thought out ones in…

unlabelledView post →I love Digimon and I wanted to like this game so much but I just can't recommend it. Everything feels awkward and clunky. The menus are clunky, walking is clunky, animations are clunky, collecting resources is clunky, the placement of enemies around the maps feels incredibly awkward and so much more. Taking care of the Digimon and all the little things that you need to do with and for them is excellent! This was my favorite part of the game, and I managed to play like 20 hours without my…
