Great game from the Desperados III team. Sadly overlooked and so the studio ended up closing up because there seemingly wasn't a market for them. Well worth picking up.

Absolutely in love with this after playing Shadow Tactics. All the way through mid-game it's still surprising you with new challenges, mechanics and characters that feel so fresh and exciting to play around with. Too bad the devs went bankrupt, I could've kept playing their games for the next 30yrs.

Great games don't necessarily always excel on every front; they simply get the most relevant parts right. Desperados 3 is a great game for that exact reason. Armed with a simple story of revenge, desperados 3 takes gamers on a challenging journey of tactical stealth gaming experience with Cooper and his likable group of friends. On the surface, it is a simple story of revenge spanning several intricate missions. You're introduced to characters and their handful of skills, shown how they work…

I'm just putting this out there for anyone who's on the fence this Christmas 2025 about this game.... Get off the fence. Get it. The games are awesome and if you already love these types of games, GET THIS ONE. This is probably the best aside from MIMIMI's over the top last game which is also definitely amazing. I love playing through this game about once a year. You will too. It's awesome. EDIT: Oh, and I have about 3 times as many hours. This game is so good I gladly paid the developers…

Random shoutout time! Any Desperados III fans out there? It was probably my 1st tactical stealth isometric game since Commandos 2, and I was surprised at how solid the gameplay and story were. Sucks that Mimimi closed doors. But I still a couple of their games in my backlog waiting to be played.

TDLR: Probably one of the very best in the niche "tactical stealth" genre. In this iteration of the genre you play a group of western movie archetypes, Cooper the Gunslinger, Doc the Black Hat Assassin, Kate the Femme Fatale, and some others. The game has a strong narrative, but the story is quite short, and the game is really focused on replaying the missions to get a higher score / better time. Tactical Stealth games are a bit of a rarity, and honestly, not really my thing. Mimimi Games…

I know the game is received extremely well, but it just isn't for me. Both Shadow Tactics and Desperados III scenarios feel very unrewarding in terms of the outcome. You spend long minutes deciding on a strategy, make a few trials and errors until it succeeds, and move on to another encounter. The strategy for dealing with enemies is the same across every game by Mimimi – removing enemies one by one depending on their view cones and patrol areas, occasionally using the environment. A direct…

I went into Desperados III hoping for a solid real-time tactics game, and what I got was one of the most polished, clever and deeply satisfying stealth experiences I’ve ever played. If you enjoy games where every move matters, where planning feels like solving a lethal puzzle, and where a single well-executed plan makes you feel like a genius, this game is an absolute gem. What I loved First and foremost, the gameplay is brilliant. You control a band of five wildly different outlaws, each…

Classic Mimimi, which means a well thought out Stealth Strategy / Real Time Stealth Tactics game with lovingly crafted maps and characters with disperate abilities and tools. Do not sleep on the Baron Challenges, which handicap you with some rather interesting and challenging returns to the same maps as the main game but with decidedly new challenges. Worth every minute of the 100 or so hours to complete. I only found a couple of bugs, neither of which were game breaking. Games like this,…

If the overwhelmingly positive reviews aren't a good enough indicator, yeah this one is great. From the same devs that made Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun; they really stepped it up to another level. Gameplay - Great Music - Great Graphics - Great (though not a super focus of the genre, it's pretty much what you'd expect) Characters/Story - Both great Every aspect of this game is good and done well. Plus the content and replayability are also good, expect levels to have multiple…

I played it, it was fun, but filled with repetitive gameplay, boring enemies and very cheesy story you will skip through after 1st mission, I feel it's far from the very high rating it has, especially IF you played Sumerian Six which wipes the floor with this story and mechanics wise. A LOT of route plotting bugs and it feels as if the movement/attack sequencing is designed too tight, i.e. play it like they intended or struggle. Last mission and the mexican standoff is the stupidest thing I…

If you're familiar with Shadow Tactics think of this as its Spaghetti Western counterpart. It features a compelling storyline, memorable characters with unique abilities, and I believe anyone looking for an excellent real time tactics (RTT) game will absolutely love it. I happily completed the main game on Hard difficulty (without the DLC), then spent another 10.6 hours finishing the DLC. This game will always hold a special place in my heart. Fun but can be repetitive and frustrating. This is basically a puzzle game and indeed, in many ways, it's the same puzzle over and over again. You work your way through a level, where there will be groups of three or four enemies with overlapping viewcones and a patrolling guard and you have to work out which one to take out first and how to unpick the overlapping viewcones of the rest to neutralise them all. And then you move onto the next group. There's usually only one 'golden path' and…

This is essentially a puzzle game, so don't expect any action-heavy gun fights in this game. If you played the first Desperados (or similar games), or any other games from the dev, then this game is very similar. However, for a puzzle game this is really well done and I finished the main story on hard mode in about 25 hours of gameplay. I haven't really looked into all the bonus content yet, which seems to be redoing missions with different enemies/setup. Good: * Completely bug-free…

The prequel for the Desperados series, in which not just Mimimi greatly improved the concept of the Ninja Cowboy Cooper, as well as made the first two Desperados games easier to play and understand, especially certain mechanics related to timing, walking silently, and programming actions. That's a feat, especially considering that the first two games are also gems, but hard to learn, and even harder to master them. Here all characters are very likeable, resourceful and useful (this game has…

I very much enjoyed that - and thought I'd give this game a try. So glad I did - the story is also engaging - character's are likeable in a twisted humorous macabre way - Hector is one sick psycho puppy but doe's make you laugh and is oddly likeable. Desperados 3 is an amazing tactical stealth game. The story follows a group of dangerous misfits who come together in the Wild West, causing chaos everywhere they go. With guns, poison, traps, and sometimes dynamite at their disposal, they always seem to have a clever plan, a sharp joke, or a bit of dark humour ready for every situation. One of the highlights of Desperados 3 is its intricate level design, which allows for multiple approaches to each mission. My only small issue is how the devs…

It’s an okay game – neither great nor terrible. You can get through all the levels with little effort by making good use of F5 and F8. The story isn’t essential or particularly important. It’s a nice game to pass the time with, so I wouldn’t pay more than €10 for it.

Cooper and his gang are back. I loved Desperados 1 when it came out, it filled the gap felft by Commandos behing the enemy lines. The ohter versions were not that bad but compare to Desperados 1 were BS, they fall in fashing during that time of "everything has to be 3d" Here the magic is intanct and got new mechanics, Isabelle's character is the best and simplify missions a lot. Great game focused around stealth and clever use of your characters abilities to distract, lure, kill and hide the bodies of your enemies as you move through each level towards your objective. It has a very satisfying gameplay chain of identifying which guard is the weak link and can be picked off without notice. Frustrating. Infuriating. Patience-destroying. Those are the first three words that come to mind when I think about Desperados III. Seriously, this game can drive you insane. You basically need 7 cups of herbal tea per minute just to calm down. Let’s start with the save system. It can absolutely ruin your experience. The game doesn’t autosave, so if you forget to save manually, you can easily lose 10, 15, or even 20 minutes of progress. And somehow, it gets worse. At one point, I finished a…

Bought for $3.50 and it's way more game than I thought it would be. Like others have said, it's a trial and error stealth/puzzle game in a western setting. Story is good so far(into Chapter 3) and is interesting enough for me to keep going. Controls and runs very good on the steam deck. Isometric games are sometimes difficult to control with a controller but this game makes it easy. Even has quicksave mapped to a button by default.

Gameplay, I love the mechanics used here and there is so much potential for more games using this system. Western, it's a western. Good game but comes off as redundant compared to Shadow Tactics. Feels like a 70% overlap (literal, where the palette for character types is carried over, most special abilities are the same albeit shuffled, mostly same mechanics, etc.). Where they do finally deviate from what Shadow Tactics did and introduce new skills (e.g. lure, control, etc.) or new ways to do things, it's great because it feels new and worthy of a new entry. Maybe some folks wanted "more of the same" but I was hoping…

But most heist games opt for greater focus on execution than planning. PAYDAY is more of an action game than a stealth game, and Monaco is a frantic, multiplayer arcade experience. Even slower-paced games like Invisible Inc and Desperados III only let you plan a couple of steps in advance.

While I enjoyed parts of the game, overall I have to give this a negative review. On the easiest setting it is WAY TOO DIFFICULT. I literally had to save and reload some levels over 100 times before beating them. The reason? Every time you try something, a guard notices you. Then you try to eliminate that guard and another guard notices you. This repeats until you eliminate the one guard no one is watching, then work your way backwards. The game should be called 'Who's looking at who?'…

It's taken me a while to come back and try to go beyond the initial missions, but doing so has made me realize how good a game it is, and the regret of taking so long to fully realize this. Boring puzzle game, not a stealth combat game. Repetitive gameplay loop with little room for imagination. As other reviews pointed out, if 99% of your players solve a scenario in the same way, it's a puzzle game, not a tactical stealth game. Graphics are okay for a unity game, but the art style gives this impression of blurriness and bad contrasts to me.
