Overall Rating - Seriously Flawed ★★☆☆☆ First Impressions From looking at the first trailer of Deleveled (DL), it may not be very clear what you're trying to accomplish, but the second trailer is a solid breakdown of your objective and how the game controls. Between both trailers and the initial round of good reviews,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the puzzles this game has but the stars are just killing any enjoyment for me. You get them for completing levels without dying. This puts emphasis on redoing levels and you are not even figuring out the puzzle you are just trying to "master the controls." This could have worked if they were fun but this game's strong point is the puzzle part and the gameplay is basically just going right or go left. This leads to playing the puzzle (that you already know how to solve) again and again…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beyond the reset confusion, it’s hard to find any flaws in this game. The puzzle concept is a lot of fun, the visuals are just about perfect for a retro styled game, the 8-bit synth audio experience is on point, and it manages to stump you without overtly frustrating you – a crowning achievement among puzzle games. Give Deleveled a go, I highly doubt you’ll regret it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rating: 1/10 Completion difficulty:4/10 IMPORTANT: I am not sure why, but this relatively simple game hits 100% of my GPU usage. This suspicious behavior makes me think it's very poorly optimized, or doing shady stuff in the background. Even without this, it would probably get a 2/10 or 3/10 note. This is a puzzle game all about momentum: hit a cube through the ground with another cube to make it jump in the air, and possibly reach other platforms. This wants to be a puzzle game, with many…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Difficulty : 3.5/5 (Hard) Global : 3/5 (Very Good) This game is not for everyone. You have to love rather hard puzzles AND precision platformers. So be careful, this is a very good and original game but it's hard to really recommend it. If you're confident in your brain and hands skills then give it a shot.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →AVOID THIS! This piece of poorly coded game will fry your CPU and your GPU. When it's running it takes up to 75% of both! Constantly! My rig can run recent games on ultra settings and Ray tracing without problem, and only OCCASIONALLY passes the middle mark of CPU or GPU usage, but only on the most demanding parts with many effects, characters and whatnot on screen. Not sure why something like this that could be made in a Commodore 64 with basic, eats that many resources, but here we are. On…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I guess this is for people who want more Super Meat Boy in their browser grade puzzle games. I didn't find it entertaining, stimulating, or relaxing (my main reasons for gaming). This seemed to me like something you'd play as a test subject in a lab using remote brainwaves to control the squares on the screen, only nowhere near as interesting. The January 2021 Humble Bundle was overloaded with garbage and this title was probably the crappiest filler in the bin.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The mechanics of the game are simple and well thought out - BUT the levels become more like pixel-perfect challenges too soon (first 2 secret switch levels for example). While figuring out in which order you need to activate switches and how to do so is fun, the hardcore precision element is not. Deleveled could have been a nice little puzzler, but it focuses on the wrong gameplay element in my opinion - if I want to train my precision and not my brain, I'd rather play SMB or I wanna be the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was very fun at first. I loved the simplicity of the controls, I loved the possible complexity beyond the first several stages, and I loved the sounds and looks of the game the whole time I was playing it. The one thing I *cannot* stand about the game is that when you fail (break one of the player cubes, fall off the level, etc.), you cannot receive a star for that level. But the penalty for failing is the same as the reward for successfully touching one of the several objectives.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR If you’re into “casual” physics-based puzzle games with a heavy dose of precision jumping, Deleveled provides over 100 of challenges. [15/20⭐, 22h🏅, 4/5💡] Context Disclaimer: I’m pretty bad at precision platforms (I rather spend an hour staring at a puzzle figuring out how to solve it, than spend that hour trying to get a jump right). But since I’m often pleasantly surprised by these simple, abstract puzzle games (hi…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Congratulations for making a game so difficult it's mostly devoid of fun. If you like drilling a single level hundreds of times until you're pixel perfect, this is the game for you. For everyone else, it's a tedious exercise in needless punishment.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good thing I didn't waste my money on this one. I will not waste much time. The idea is good and I like many games with this mechanic. The problem for me is that you can't make a single mistake if you want to finish the level and collect a star and you will need them(every single one) to progress further. This game is for specific type of player. I can't stand this idea so for me at the end of the day this is a good game but made for 100 people who like to torture themselves.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A unique puzzle game with a nice soundtrack, I really didn't expect it to be this fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Miserable little precision platformer. The gimic makes the puzzle element unfun, and the cause of resets, which cost you the levels star. There's a level in world one that doesn't unlock, and the game gives zero indication of what needs to be done to unlock it. The one good thing here is that I got this via humble choice, and that I didn't waste 11.50 on it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its so bad. how can the reveiws be positive?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm posting this review, because the devs asked me to.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: If you're just really into puzzle games maybe mute the music and buy the game on sale. Didn't draw me in. I get the gimmick, but it ended feeling really slow and tedious. It's a puzzle game, but since it's also a platformer, that means that execution and timing are important, but the game isn't very fun to control. Also, the music was a huge surprise, because I muted it after 15 minutes because I couldn't stand it any more. I've literally never done that before.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game trough the humble bundle and decided to try it out. Normaly I love puzzle games where I have to find out the solution. This looked at first like this time off game and is mostly correct but what makes it negative for me is you are a milisecond off and you have to restart over. I enjoy puzzle games but not the ones where you are screwed if your mouse or keyboard is a little slower. A lot of people enjoyed the game and it is not a bd game but not my cup of tea. The price is high…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's refreshing to get exactly what the cover advertises Pros -Pure and simplistic gameplay with adequate explanation of the core mechanics and self-explanatory twists -Minimalist graphics pair well with the gameplay -After the first set of levels eases you in, the difficulty ramps up pretty fast and you'll be looking at some real tough cookies that'll require thinking outside the box Cons -Chiptune music goes well with the game at first, but for me it turned annoying quite fast -As it is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gave this game a fair try but really couldn't find it enjoyable. The small joy of a decent premise and decent puzzles very quickly hits a wall of loose feeling controls when the game expects perfect inputs, something that only becomes additionally frustrating when attempting to collect the level's stars (earned by completing all of the puzzles in a level without dying or resetting a single time) which warps this game which should be a chill puzzle platformer into a rage game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deleveled is a terrible game! Don't buy it!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Never knew my new favorite kind of game would be 1/2 puzzle 1/2 precision platforming. Now I know. I am only on world 4. So far the difficulty has been palatable. Even if it amps up hardcore in the later worlds, I will still probably keep it a positive review because I love the mix. The effort in figuring out solutions i.e. the puzzle part, makes the execution i.e. the platforming part sooooooooooo satisfying. With reg puzzle games, the reward for figuring out the puzzle is...figuring out the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommend, but not at full price. I seem to be about 30% done (33 levels) after playing for 2 hours. I'm a bit bored of the game already; monotonous music and not enough change in level mechanics to justify spending more time on it. Some of the puzzles are SUPER obvious. Some of them have multiple ways you can do them. But overall, simple concept and simple controls = good puzzle game. It feels like they just dragged it out too long. The precision parts gets frustrating because you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is for people who want a better version of a game in their browser. This wasn't entertaining, relaxing or stimulating. I wouldn't play this game even if it was free. The humble bundle of january 2021 was garbage.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deleveled is a basic puzzle game based around using cubes to bounce each other to check points. The game is pretty much as advertised, what you see is what you get. Pros: -Cool concept of bounce physics that's stretched a long ways with different level designs. -New mechanics/level characteristics introduced with each world/set of levels. -bonus stages/hidden levels. Cons: -Design is super bare bones. It's just lines on a colored background that changes slightly when you hit a button. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Eh, as far as puzzle games go this one isn't bad, just lacks any motivation to play it. Music: average. Visuals: minimalist garbage. Story: n/a. Just play portal instead, or any free mobile puzzle game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Genuinely one of my favorite puzzle games. It really wrings the most out of all of its mechanics. There are plenty of times where performing the solution is just as hard or harder than figuring out how to do it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deleveled is a strikingly original puzzle-platformer that rethinks one of the genre’s most sacred assumptions: the jump button. Developed by ToasterFuel and published by The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild alongside ToasterFuel, the game strips movement down to its fundamentals and asks players to solve platforming challenges purely through momentum, gravity, and spatial reasoning. What initially appears minimalist quickly reveals itself as a deeply thoughtful and demanding experience that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can tell from the first five minutes that this is a great little puzzle game, but I can also tell that it's too cerebral for me. Good job devs though!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun, simple puzzle game! harder than I thought for sure
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm really enjoying this game so far. A very decent puzzle platformer with a very fresh mechanic. The controls are extremely simple - most of the time you just use 2 keys for moving left and right. There are some other keys used, but never in a situation that requires precise timing for using them. I am writing this review mainly on behalf of people who may be enticed by the puzzling aspect of the game but concerned that the game may be too tough requiring very fast reflexes. I would say as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Puzzling, intelligent and a charming soundtrack. I blasted through the first few worlds as the time just flew by. Recommended to all puzzle lovers <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Deleveled has a lot of personality and was a very fun experience. Minimalist puzzle games are my jam and this is one is pretty top-tier. The concept of pushing all the switches is simple and original, and the levels are designed expertly so that you are not locked into one specific solution or switch order. When I consulted a video walkthrough for some of the levels I found that where I was in the stage was completely different than the walkthrough, which speaks well of the multiple solutions…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The SFX and music are great, and overall the game feels very polished. The puzzles feel very unique and are adequately challenging (not too easy, not impossible). Glad I picked it up!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is great! I just don't see myself finishing anytime soon.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Disclaimer: My scores/reviews are almost always based on having bought the game at close to the "lowest historical price" on steam at time of purchase. Quick score: 5/5 Notes: Unique, simple, challenging. Fair warning, this is not strictly a logic puzzle game, there are also many difficult precision timed input (platforming) sections required as part of the solutions. So be warned if you are not into that kind of thing. Personally I stopped around world 7 because I didn't like the mechanic…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got the game for free from a friend's Humble Bundle + thought I'd just try it out for a laugh because I like puzzles. Good game, simple layout with retro simplistic touch and no frill level maps. Fun mechanics: you need to make two opposite balls jump up certain obstacles by using the bounce gained by falling from previous obstacles - and if you lose the bounce due to a false movement you might be stuck. If you still manage to solve the puzzle, you can solve the level but lose the star…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The core mechanic is interesting, but some levels require so much frame-perfect playing that it gets pretty frustrating to play the game at times.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the concept as a puzzle game but on each level there is just too many combinations of the switches you have to hit so I personally think they should be color coded. That's the only reason I wouldn't want to play it. I would rather just find how to get to the switches rather than find the combination too.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A super simplified puzzle platformer where you control two squares acting in mirror image of each other and try to get them to reach certain points on the map. When the drop from a height and meet in the middle it causes the other square to bounce so you can do some jumping, and sometimes you have to bump one of the squares into a wall to get them off center to get them into the correct positions. It's an interesting idea, I just didn't find it all that fun after a bit. There's not a lot of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun little physics based puzzle platformer
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not horrible but I just couldn't stand playing it. The most annoying part is how easy it is to desync your blocks or accidentally kill your momentum. When flinging one up a wall it's all too easy to tap it too early or to land on a vertical part of the wall and stop the bouncing, this forces you to redo the whole puzzle. There is a reset button, but I can't for the life of me figure out what they were thinking when it was implemented. First you have to hold it for a few seconds (why?) and…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nothing stays beneath Platforms vanish with each leap Balance finds the way
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →most innovative puzzle game I've ever tried. But from 80% of chapter 3/10 I'm stuck stepbro. The difficulty curve is steep starting with that chapter.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very good puzzle game This game starts easy, the mechanics stay simple all along but the complexity of the puzzles is going up. You do not need to be extremely good to have fun with it but tryharders will love this. Big thumbs up for the developpers
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A simple puzzle game where you control two blocks moving left or right while falling upward or downward, with the ability to transfer momentum between them. Your goal is to place them on special markers and toggle them. Very often, beyond figuring out how to reach these markers, the game also requires dexterity, intelligence, and planning. Honestly, this is one of the few really good combinations of these two qualities. I think this combination works well because the solutions in this game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great game to play when you think you're smart to remind yourself that your mind can always be boggled
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The puzzles are decently fun, but the star for no deaths mechanic just adds too much needless frustration
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only I can find out the secret behind the cubes. The cubes are the key to true power and world domination. If you thought the anti-life equation was powerful...this is on a different plane entirely. The cubes are everything.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This puzzle game manages to be simple, yet challenging. You're only moving the joystick left and right. I didn't find the platforming to be particularly difficult. For me, at least up to world 4, the hard part was actually solving the puzzles. If you like hard puzzles, grab this game. If you think you might like hard puzzles, grab this game; it won't take you over two hours to figure out if you'll enjoy it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Big brain puzzles
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little puzzler that can really make you think, but doesn't require a lot of brainpower like escape games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has a simple premise: you control two cubes simultaneously, and try to guide them towards buttons that have to be pushed at the same time. However, what may sound easy is actually quite challenging. Each world presents a different mechanic in their levels, which keeps the game fresh and interesting. It gradually gets harder, and you'll have to pause and think what you're going to do to earn the precious star that you have to obtain in order to advance. Keep in mind that you have to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, I'm not a huge fan of puzzle games. Somehow I got a copy of this one, and decided to give it a shot. While it's not for me, I definitely appreciate the effort put in to this. The level designs are pretty clever. I *do* feel like I'm occasionally solving them in ways that weren't intended, though. I think that's just a part of the nature of the puzzles. For a first released game, it's not bad.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool puzzle game with decent variety. 7/10
