positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controller is highly recommended for this game! I can tell you because, for the first few hours I had to play it without one.. and it was really hard to get the hang of it and with a control it is a bit difficult to play this game but still worth it is addictive this game. 6.7/10

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Look, I really wanted to give this game a positive review. REALLY wanted to. It's got gorgeous visuals and art direction, great moody soundtrack and a whole lot of potential. , unfortunately, it's all brought down by the huge amount of bugs and terrible level design. Most of the time you don't even see where you're supposed to be jumping to because the next plataform is off-screen, which causes you to jump in the wrong direction and fall to your death. The controls feel very awkward too and I…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Motorbike game that plays a bit like Elastomania where you control your bike by leaning back and forth and explore. Blast through obstacles using blades on your wheels and cut them in half leaving heated metal behind. Destroy objects to gather more scrap used for upgrades and customization. Controls are unusual and you will definitely not find anything like it - change direction anytime and do u-turns and jumps. Health is limited and after that you repeat the level. Difficulty wise it's medium…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun side scrolling game with bikes against bots and various hazards. It has too many advantages to pass like nice level design with secrets to descover, variety of abilites between the bikers to suit your style, many different enemies, cool main theme song while the sound doesn't disappoint. One the other hand, very few bugs not worth mentioning and controls may be tricky to some, although I finished it entirely on Keyboard I see some may have some issues without a controler. My biggest…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game that sounds good on paper but ends up being a horrible experience for the player. The controls are incredibly not intuitive where you control a motorcycle on a 2D plane, you have all these button combinations to control different aspects of the vehicle however people will not be willing to memorize them because they are still too busy grappling with how flaky the lane-switching and physics are. I tried skipping everything including, bonuses, upgrades, skins, collectibles and you can…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tried with keyboard....maybe i was wrong. Tried with xbox controller as suggested in main screen...madness takes me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controls are too unintuitive
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →**** FIRST IMPRESSIONS **** Remember folks this is just my first impressions of the game within an hour of playing. First off, I think I reallly should plug-in my control pad, sadly it is not here atm, so I had to use the keys which makes the game less smooth. And that my friends, is the key word here...smooth... This game is fantastic fun, at least the first couple of levels which I have played. It took me awhile to get around to trying this game out. I was burned out with platformers,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The idea of a 2.5D motorcycle combat platformer where your front wheel is a giant, junkbot-shredding buzzsaw is undeniably awesome. Traversing the stylized retro-future levels using physics-based stunts and pipe-riding feels incredibly stylish when you pull it off. Unfortunately, the controls are frustratingly complex and unintuitive, often turning high-speed momentum into awkward fumbling against the environment. It's a visually striking and unique action game that is held back by its own…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This must be one of the worst game i ever played in my life.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Steel Rats squanders its cool dieselpunk aesthetic and unique motorcycle concept with frustratingly clunky controls that make it look like it was ported by a goldfish. The gameplay rapidly becomes stale and repetitive, offering little depth or mission variety beyond very simple shooting and clunky platforming. What initially looks stylish quickly devolves into a forgettable slog plagued by imprecise handling and wasted potential, making the entire experience feel more like a frustrating chore…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Actually not that bad, but it's floaty and janky, can be solved with an old controller, or just some time to get use to the KB controls which took me a bit but I got it down. Was pretty fun from then on. It's a fun little game with an interesting concept and I do like the graphics and overall atmosphere. Good time when you're in the mood for such a game as this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bad controls kill the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting concept but it just doesn't feel polished, it has a relaxed vibe when realistically you expect heavy metal, smash stuff and zoom based on the theme and concept. I don't feel as if it offers enough content , I didn't play for long and still hit many bad bugs which meant restarting levels to fix. Just feels like a fun idea, badly executed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →5/10 grab it if you really want it but its ok if you miss this game fun, a little broken tho
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →horribly optimized (or not at all), lazy low-medium-high overall gfx setting, rebindable but abysmal controls. losing a life respawns you at the last checkpoint (often before a cutscene, of course), but dying a few times (or the game crashing, which it does on the regular) means back to the very beginning of the level and ♥♥♥♥ that mine chase at the end of level 5. FIVE! no difficulty or accessibility options, like skipping to the next section after failing a bunch of times. one could (and one…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Needs some patches and improved controls. Cool concept...just needs more work.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game just keeps crashing constantly whenever I try to play it. Can't make any progress
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I realy wanted to continue playing this game but controls are extremely confusing and difficult. Nice idea, bad realistion.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The concept of the game is interesting, but it doesn't deliver. Voice acting is mediocre, emotionless. Game lacks sound effects. Level designs are interesting, yet not polished enough.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Actually not that bad, but it's too floaty and janky, making it tiresome to handle, and the precision platforming it expects of you does not work together with the lack of precision it gives you. The speed of the motorcycle is also incredibly inconsistent, when you're in the air the vehicle slows down making it feel sluggish and in general you'll find the vehicle switching between speeds constantly making for a very unsatisfactory experience. The handling could be fixed by making the game less…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is barely a recommend. It is hard to recommend but some people will enjoy it. It shows some of its age. The controls are okay but man some of the levels just suck. most levels are fun but they decided to do the stupid thing of a runaway or chase level and it completely sucks. There are times that you just know that the QA must have taken a sick month since some places they should have reigned in some of the ideas. One is this part where you are running away upwards from a robot.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The controls on pc is so d0gsh1t they advertise using controller at the beginning. You restart to the beginning of level if you fail mid level. The pipe mechanic so back you cannot control %90 of the time. Not worth of your time. Not to mention I had to enter some values into my system environment variables to just "start" the game. I was continuously crashing while starting it. Wonder who and how they discovered this fix.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has something going for it. But the controls are bad and the story is not that great. Cookie cutter characters. "The fearless leader", "'The boy genius".
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another platformer which offers a nice concept, but bland gameplay. The idea of having a motorcycle in a platformer is pretty unique, however, I don't see any fun in this game sadly. Even if you just watch the trailer, the game doesn't have much to offer. Neither the bike customization nor the gameplay makes you stay in this game and hence, I'm pretty sure that you find other platforms which are worth your time. No recommendation.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →absolute garbage game. not fun to play, terrible controls, and constant bugs/glitches. play something else.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A neat way to combine racing, platforming and action but marred by confusing controls, annoying physics, and tedious boss fights. Plus it crashed in the middle of a boss fight so that's when I had my fill of it. Maybe if there's a sequel, I'll be interested, but this right now is not very good.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Totally something different than your average platformer
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ok, I'm done trying to focus on the shiny parts of that turd (it looks and sounds good, and it's not unpleasant to play when it's not trying to ♥♥♥♥ you, which is increasingly frequent as you progress). For crying out loud, a -game- is supposed to be pleasant! A turd with game-breaking bugs that haven't been fixed since the game's release. Four years on! A turd with awful boss fights. A turd with some bullet-sponge enemies that can randomly one-shot you. I. Am. Done.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tldr; 4/10, get it on sale if you want but there are much better games in this price range Edited: lowered the score from 5 to 4 after finding so many frustrating bugs, like random sticking into the walls or bosses killing my characters instantly. I got particularly mad at the last boss with that bug repeating itself for like a hundred times that I uninstalled the game - and I never do that. Longer review: To be honest, mixed definitely suits it the best. It's both fun and boring at the same…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the idea and the controls but I sometimes feel like characters get thrown off the 2D axis, and unreasonable gravity and a severe lack of checkpoints prevent this game from being an enjoyable experience.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a buggy mess, level 4, mission 2 (i think). The robot chase stage where you ride vertically up pipes and whatever else. It is an absolute buggy mess that my play style cannot complete, i like to cut a lot of (mili)seconds off, and cutting those critical tight corners where you better your speeds are bugged to heck and back. I had an invisible force caught under my bike on several occasions that stuck turning in auto doughnut loop, which on the chase stage, is nearly unplayable, as the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ok, I've tried this game on other sales platforms and I ended up with it on here as part of a bundle. I thought, hell, I'll give it another go since I have a better PC this time around. It has a cool story, very nice art, and the concept is wild. Problem is, the execution of the gameplay is terrible. Then you get your soft locks where if you crash you can get hung in the terrain and background and can't get out or move. I just can't recommend something that has janky controls.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →“High-speed” 2D platformer that has janky steering, bad combat mechanics, and a penchant for giving you bonus objectives that are entirely at odds with its game mechanics. Boring and frustrating.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring platformer.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Never seen such bad controls, both keyboard and controllaer are absoloutly disgusting...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hollow Knight Trials HD Finally, a worthy contender for PC GOTY.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very frustrating glitches that make me restart the levels it is easy to get stuck and the controls can get unpredictable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can tell creative ideas and some passion is put into this game. However, I cannot and do not recommend this game to anyone for it is a highly unpolished and buggy mess. This game is a combat speedy platformer game, where a group of ragtag bikers with pretty awesome bikes go around destroying robots. You get to select and switch between any 1 of 4 characters anytime during the gameplay which makes it convenient. The majority of the level designs are pretty ok, however, there is one level in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Steel Rats has a fantastic sense of style and an intriguing premise but it feels awful to play, with some of the worst controls I've encountered recently. Moving up and down the playing field lacks finesse, air dash didn't want to trigger consistently, and turning around is awkward more often then not. The presentation is very polished - including a nice clean UI - but everything under the surface is rotten. I've always thought Trials of the Blood Dragon, despite maybe not being a great Trials…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is pretty much trials with a story. it seems cool at first, but the voice actors really break the illusion of robots overpowering humanity, it sounds like a kid having to act grateful on christmas when they get another pair of socks. The controls make it over-complicated and hard to remember so i die all the time for pressing the wrong key some of the mechanics you need to use dont even work right. I cant finish the last level in one of the districts because the magnetized track or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am very disapointed to say. I haven't found any rats. So far its pretty alright!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just don't bother
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →nice game i liked upgrade and skin system but the worst keyboard controls ever. Its unplayable. Game wants you to be fast in action parts but how can i push 5 different button at the same time. great concept ruined by controls.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Platformer with bikes sounds like a nice idea, Unreal Engine also adds nicely to the graphic part, but my god, the physics in this game are so ultimately ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. Extreme amount of bugs: most of the time you won't be able to normally pass the intersections of the pipes, shooting is half-useless because of the wierd targeting system, characters connection to the "road" will sometimes force the bike to turn in unnatural angle and kill the character, you can sometimes stuck in enemies,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I usually recommend games I do 100% achievements but I cannot recommend Steel Rats. TONS of bugs, not working skills (not fixed for years ultimate like I've read on forum, stometimes it works but most of the time not). Controls... oh my... don't touch this without controller and even with it get ready to getting used to them for a long time. Even after 1-2 hours still is hard to comprahend all of them - who need acceleration in left/right platformer... If you are stubborn (like me) and you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →dont give any chance
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game is not just accelerate and break, has a story, missions, objectives, and good graphics - approved
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game concept. Bad execution. Depth perception is the worst nightmare in this game, it is never clear and it is extremely important for this game. Controls are not tight. It has some imaginary lanes that sometimes you are in the correct lane, sometimes not, you move up, sometimes the character goes up sometimes it decides to remain in the lower lane etc. There are interrupting cutscenes frequently. Interrupting cutscene videos are terrible in this game. They kill your movement flow…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I did not enjoy it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun 2.5D side-scrolling action arcade game set in an alternative 1940s American in which you use motorcycles to destory Junkbots.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has great potential. The graphics are nice, you drive a motorbike and can perform a lot of moves and actions. The controls work very well when playing with a controller. The only complaint I would post is that after a certain point at the beginning (the drill), it becomes too difficult to progress. So I was not able to complete most of the game because it became to difficult. Maybe the developers expected too much skill of the players.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very different platformer from everything that I was used to. Instead of running around jumping from A to B, you drive a bike jumping from A to B. Cool story, cool setting and cool characters. It's a fun game, but if you don't have a controller, you'd better skip it. All the fun goes away when playing with a keyboard.
