Overall Rating - Seriously Flawed ★★☆☆☆ First Impressions When I first saw Deep Dungeons of Doom (DDD), it made me think this dungeon-delving rogue-lite would have quality loot and level-ups to compensate for repeated treks into harrowing danger, but it's more like diving deep into horse manure. It's not hard, if it's…

Hello Friends! I decided to write this review for this game. First off, this was originally supposedly a mobile port game. From posts on the forum, i deduced this. I never played this on mobile phone though, so this review will be specifically about this version. The game is basic in design, but complex on certain monsters. You only do 2 things in dungeon, well three if you use potions. You press right to attack monsters, and press left to defend yourself. After playing several dungeons, you…

Another nifty mobile game ported to Steam. It's a well done side-scrolling dungeon crawler, pretty simple but fun to play. The battle system is mostly about timing and your typical actions available in these types of games. Some of the bosses are a bit challenging to help keep things interesting. The retro art style is nice and the background music is great. It's a bit short, but it's a cheap game so another great score!

Pros: + Pixel art style + Post apocalyptic setting + Good animations + Multiple characters with different playstyles + Fitting soundtrack + Upgrade tree Cons: - No audio sliders - No way to turn off sound effects apart from muting the game's audio in your volume mixer - No resolution settings; game won't remember the window size either - Grind does not seem to be adjusted to work without microtransactions - Combat gets tiresome fast - Lacks separate inventories for each character - Dungeon…

Deep Dungeons of Doom is a mobile-based casual game with very simple mechanics, where timing is the key to success. By choosing one of the three availabe 'heroes' (the rogue/mercenary and witch aren't really good by nature) we have to defeat monsters in 2 dimensional dungeons (and towers), but instead of moving from left to right, we proceed from up to down (or the other way round) floor after floor in dungeons or towers. There's a plot, but it's goofy and shouldn't be taken seriously. Evil…

This game is fun at first, but is extremely annoying if you die in the dungeon or on the boss fight. If you get far enough in a dungeon, you can choose to get 10% gold back or have a chance to get your loot/potions back based on a RNG roll. 3 classes to use and you can upgrade their skills with gold. Needs to have a checkpoint system to avoid fighting same monsters over and over.

This is a great game ruined by its controls and some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game mechanics. A single dungeon takes way too long to complete and one mistake can kill you, but the fact that there are so many rooms in one dungeon it becomes annoying and you eventually start making mistakes because you are bored, because you don't feel you are making any progress, room after room with the same annoying enemies, just awful game design.

Embark on a vaguely defined quest, that involves exploring some dungeons. In the dungeon you find a room with a monster. You have one button to attack, and one to block. The challenge comes down to memorising the monsters' attack patterns so you know when to press the block button. When the monster dies, you go to the next room, and repeat, except this time the monster has more health. By the end the dungeons get far too long. Pros: -- Art style -- Metal references Cons: -- Tedious gameplay…

TL;DR: A fun little game to pass the time (6/10) This game is 12 years old now, and the graphics were not that good even when it was originally released. But it holds surprisingly well! Visuals & Gameplay The graphics are deliberately 8-bit pixelated, which makes it look as good as it was when it was just released. The gameplay is very simple: You attack, block, or use an item to kill monsters. You can collect gold & items from killed monsters. Occasionally you're given a skill point to…

As a phone game, it is pretty solid, but when compared to a lot of PC games, it doesn't hold up too well. Deep Dungeons of Doom is a clever, streamlined roguelite lootfest. Choose from three character classes, tap your way through rhythmic combat, and swipe deeper into dungeons filled with quirky enemies. The pixel-art style adds charm, but beware—the word “deep” doesn’t quite apply here. Still, it’s worth a play for its addictive simplicity and vintage arcade vibe!

Usually I say something of value. But there is nothing of value here. It's a generic phone app ported to PC. There's a reason you don't port phone apps to PC, they just don't work on PC. It's not terrible, you'd get a passable time waster out of this *on a phone,* but it's not worth buying in my humble opinion, especially on a PC.

You simply go through dungeons pushing one out of three buttons. Either to attack, block or use an item. Sometimes you get new items. Sometimes you don't. Terribly repetitive. Not that good of a game. Shame since the graphics are nice looking.

2D, 8bit garbage. 3 keys: Defend, attack, 'advance' to make your way through vertical dungeons against a variety of enemies while facing the worst of them all, the random number generator. The first hour or so has some appeal, but the number of idiocies the game puts you through is surreal. - The grind is infinite. You literally need thousands of gold to level up a character, while a late game dungeon, requiring around 15-30 minutes, will drop 100 or so gold. - Characters 'level up' during…

The gameplay is very simple, you are basically playing with two keyboard keys and the whole point is to time your attack and defence actions, sometimes you have an item you can activate to add attribute points, heal or cause some effect. That's it. The fun part of the game is trying to come up with plausible builds to overcome the dungeons. You get to play as 3 different classes with 3 available exclusive perk trees for each class which you can mix in to combine different perk bonuses into…

Started as a fun little game, ended as a repetitive, exhaustive mess. Deep Dungeons of Doom can be summed up as a small game about going into dungeons and fighting enemies while also being able to use equipments, items and skills to help you. This is perhaps the most "mobile port" game possible; if you're fine with that and the small session time it tries to push, then this might be worthwhile. But it's just so unmemorable. The art's nice, but the gameplay is just so dull— it's very obviously a mobile game. Combat is either hit or block, hit or block. Over and over and over for every dungeon. Even worse, the port shows signs that the difficulty was steep to induce in-app purchases, which is not present here, but is obvious by how…

The premise of a hypercasual dungeon crawler (2-button gameplay) seemed appealing to me; in fact it still does. But the critical piece of information I was missing with this game is that not only is it a mobile port, but a shoddy one at that. The first hour or two of gameplay go well enough and then progress suddenly comes to a complete halt. The player is set on this horrendous grind for gold to unlock skills for their characters, the kind of grind that is typically "alleviated" with…

A game for grinders. Everytime you die you lose almost all your gold, unless you repeat the same dungeon until you succeed. Definitely made for mobile gaming. All you need is 2 buttons for defense and attack. Attack when enemy is standing still and defend when it moves.
