Decision to Leave
From a mountain peak in South Korea, a man plummets to his death. Did he jump, or was he pushed? When detective Hae-joon arrives on the scene, he begins to suspect the dead man’s wife Seo-rae. But as he digs deeper into the investigation, he finds himself trapped in a web of deception and desire. From TMDB

E.g. is this Decision To Leave, an intelligent, brilliantly constructed thriller, or is it All The Old Knives, a great one-and-done, high quality thriller?

Despite recent controversy with Writer's Guild, he has directed some bangers! 03 Oldboy 05 Lady Vengeance 09 Thirst 16 The Handmaiden Recent films DECISION TO LEAVE (22) & NO OTHER CHOICE (25) also rock. #filmsky 🎥

unlabelledView post →"No Other Choice" is now streaming on Hulu. Another good Park Chan-wook film is "Decision to Leave"--also available on Hulu.

unlabelledView post →#NowWatching DECISION TO LEAVE (2022). Director: Park Chan-Wook. Tang Wei, Park Hae-il. Getting caught up with brilliant mind behind OLDBOY, THIRST, THE HANDMAIDEN (among others). #filmsky 🎬🎞📽🎥
unlabelledView post →So excited that No Other Choice is screening at London Film Festival (LFF). I am def going to try for tickets! I saw Decision To Leave at LFF and Park Chan Wook introduced his film beautifully. Plus, how amazing would it be if some of the cast were there too? #nootherchoice #parkchanwook #lff

unlabelledView post →I've not seen a bad film by him but Oldboy, JSA, The Handmaiden, Decision to Leave and No Other Choice? Those are five of the finest films ever made, the technical excellence and emotional depth is astounding.
unlabelledView post →Sorry(, baby), I'm trying to be more positive these days. Let me rephrase this: I hope The Secret Agent gets every nomination it can tomorrow, because it is a truly special movie in a way that only a few others—Decision to Leave, La Chimera, all the Hamaguchis—have been to me this decade.
unlabelledView post →"oh wow another Korean movie! I'm sure this 'Decision To Leave' is going to be just as life affirming!"
unlabelledView post →Park Chan-Wook (OLDBOY, THE HANDMAIDEN, DECISION TO LEAVE, LADY VENGEANCE)'s new film NO OTHER CHOICE may very well be his best.
unlabelledView post →Park Chan-Wook has a new film this winter that is getting a lot of buzz, but in Houston you can see his last film, DECISION TO LEAVE. Houston Film Critics Society is hosting at River Oaks Houston. It's a great Hitchcockian thriller about a cop and a murder suspect who fall for each other. Tickets:
unlabelledView post →Decision To Leave (2022) Contender for my favourite film, I just adore Park Chan-Wook's cinematography and storytelling so much aaaaaaaaaaa. Another amazing score, too. It is an unhealthy love story between detective and suspect, and has one of the most memorable ending scenes I've ever witnessed
unlabelledView post →One of the movies I'm most looking forward to at the Venice Film Festival. THE HANDMAIDEN and DECISION TO LEAVE are two of the best films of the last decade.
unlabelledView post →Oldboy is a very good movie but yes does deal with some darker themes. A classic revenge flick. That being said, Decision to Leave is considerably better. A film as devastating as it is beautiful.
unlabelledView post →Waittttt I can use Bluesky now for something! I am gonna watch my 500th movie soon and I want you to choose. unlabelledView post →Loved ‘No Other Choice’. A lot of fun and beautifully filmed. Still prefer Decision to Leave but this wasn’t far off.

unlabelledView post →Well, now that I’ve seen it, it’s pretty much exactly as demented an oversight that No Other Choice wasn’t even nominated for Best Foreign Film, like Decision To Leave before it. Oscars just don’t understand Park Chan-wook I guess, but these are like immaculate films, you guys.
unlabelledView post →The International Feature Film nomination process is stupid but also something I'm obsessed with. A Park film has never been nominated both because the Oscars passed on Decision to Leave and No Other Choice but also because South Korea submitted The Age of Shadows in 2016 instead of The Handmaiden.
unlabelledView post →High probability I'll be watching the 2022 Park Chan-wook film "Decision to Leave" this evening. Heard good things, & I liked Thirst and The Handmaiden quite a bit

unlabelledView post →Movie of the day, No Other Choice. By itself, it's pretty good, but when compared with the great Handmaiden and the suoer great Decision to Leave, it's def a step downward. It is a treat to see Son Ye-jin 😍 and Kim Hyung-mook 👍 in any movie or drama! YMMV #filmsky
unlabelledView post →Ooooo, I mean Decision to Leave might be his most romantic film for me. But pretty much all of his films starting with I'm a Cyborg But That's Okay have been about love.
unlabelledView post →I feel like nobody saw Decision to Leave (which I FUCKING LOVED) but also 2022 was an absolutely off the hook movie year so I understand. I might watch it again before No Other Choice. Park Chan-wook is one of the best directors working imo
unlabelledView post →If Decision to Leave was Park Chan-wook’s serious Jimmy Stewart Hitchcock movie, No Other Choice is his sillier Cary Grant Hitchcock movie. Very entertaining, a bit meandering in the middle but brilliant ending. Insert Doofenshmirtz meme about Korean thrillers with Native American costumes. #TIFF50

For those going in blind, this Neo-Noir deftly obfuscates and subverts genre expectations. #film #cinephile #movie

unlabelledView post →Really shouldn't surprise me how weird Park Chan-wook's Decision to Leave is, but...it's VERY weird. Just a remakably strange movie about obsession filtered through every type of modern mundanity.
