60 of 191 · most liked firstPros: * Interesting level design * Solid Hitman-esque gameplay * Well thought out design requiring patience and creativity to succeed Cons: * Voice acting is not the best. * You only end up really using 4 weapons for the majority of the game. * Less than streamlined HUD and inventory management (akin to DayZ). * Graphics, however serviceable, look a bit dated. How Long To Beat? ~13 hours on normal difficulty. Review: Not since "Hitman: Blood Money" have I played a game in the genre that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well the game is incredibly accurate on the German part, They're just as blind as they were in real life to invading russia.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Once upon a time this may have been a good game But having never played it before, I don't have the nostalgia boner that others do Sorry, but this is a clunky out dated game that just did not age well (for me). The basic concept is there, nice thematic ideas. And I won't knock it for the graphics or sound (it is an old game afterall). But what I can't get past is the pacing. I like stealth games but this is stealth at a snails pace. Absolutely painfully slow. I've played stealth franchises…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice game, Story and the sounds are okay. -The graphics a bit old but no problem!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buggy as ass. Really dissapointed because I was excited to play it, but the guy always gets stuck and stops facing the direction of the camera, so pressing W makes him run out to the right. I'd probably have a lot of fun with it, if it weren't for all the problems.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →-WARNING- THE GAME REQUIRES FPS TO BE LOCKED AT 60 -WARNING- It breakes completely at higher values I was also advised to use compatibility mode with WinXP, but I dont know if it actually necessary. One of the best stealth action games btw
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The #1 reason I'm not recommending this game is because of the ridiculous censorship - can't stand that ♥♥♥♥! The enhancement addon(mod) is a must to make the game what it SHOULD be - not this pussified, history hating crap that you get on Steam. But also the missions are just boring apart from a couple. It's like Hitman, yes, but old and janky - even Hitman: Contracts plays better. It's pretty brutal and if you're caught it's basically game over which isn't hard to do. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reminds me of the Hitman franchise. I personally love stealth games and I would highly recommend this one. Set in a WWII era, graphics may not be the best but don't let that distract you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game loses it's charm after the 3rd mission, from then on it's tedious and unfun. there's barely any room for creativity and the map designs are very linear, there's nothing to explore or discover with the main objectives being the only focus in the game. the plot is basically nonexistent, the voice acting is garbage and the gameplay (although funny at times) is mediocre at best. spare yourself the time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To describe it in one sentence, it's basically Russian Hitman Contracts with all the clunkiness if not more. It might take a while to get used to, but it's definitely worth it. If you have Moment of Truth, you can merge DtS1 missions into it's sequel to enjoy the game with improved and more polished content. Check MoTMod. Go for Gold version, it's worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Death to Spies is a spy infiltration stealth action game, similar to hitman, released in 2007 on steam. It's situated in world war 2, intel gathering, capturing targets, assassinating targets, rescuing targets, destroying targets, etc. Comparing to hitman, it's more punishing leaving no room for error. It's very realistic in terms of reaction of AI etc, delay in shooting etc. There're 2 main issues I find, getting stuck in places but you can still try to squirm out and hard to gauge the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Criminally underrated franchise, this is basically soviet Hitman set during WWII. You basically infiltrate nazi camps and have to take out various targets. It's really difficult like most early 2000s stealth games but it's worth it since this game and it's sequel are really good, they have tons of details like real German voice actors for german soldiers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hitman 2 but the enemies can throw grenades and you have less health, incredible
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ great. A stealth game that is actually hard (at least if you're doing a no-guns run-through). yeah bits are buggy af, no it's not impeccably realistic, and yet it's still better than basically any stealth game released in recent years
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is hard. But not because it's good, but because it is inconsistent and buggy. Normal, hard and impossible are all equally difficult. Remember this is a game vs bugs. So you might as well just select impossible -If an enemy spots you and you take him out with a silencer it doesn't matter. He already telepathically sounded the alarm. -The millisecond an enemy spots you he poops out a grenade (Even if both of his hands are visibly gripped to his rifle) This means you must restart…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imagine a Hitman: Blood Money in WW2... Well, there you go
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I not only would not recommend this game, I will actively campaign for others to do the same. The controls are terrible and the collision detection is faulty at best and head-scratchingly stupid at worst. I played 8 minutes (yes, minutes!) before I uninstalled in disgust. I was on the training mission and my toon, for some reason, just kind of started turning so that my forward key made him run to the left ... and there was no way to fix this! This was a gift. I immediately told the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good Game. Adware Launcher. November 28 2025 they added the "Fulqrum Launcher" to load before the game, you *can* then set it to launch the game directly and not show the launcher... but the Fulqrum Launcher still silently launches first invisibly before launching the game. Who knows what it does, but for a game this old it should not be added at all. They did not announce it in the news section, which is why unlike King's Bounty: The Legend no one got upset over this change. There are probably…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hitman: Blood Money in WWII -- immediately both thumbs up! I've only encountered one bug in which my save was self-deleted. The game offers a rather large arsenal for your loadout, but there's hardly a use for much of it, as firefights aren't the goal and are very difficult to endure. However! The German HQ castle mission was very fun to engage in lucrative ways to eliminate everyone, as the castle is filled with SS holding meetings. Brilliant gaming!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely incredible game and updated today, unbelievable, love this game and the devs!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know if this game is good or not because it is so broken I can't even move.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great stealth game with WW2 theme. Classic, Crash free, No need additional launcher, Beautiful graphics, and perform very well. Unfortunately now a days we don't see game like this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think it could be quite a good game, it reminds me of Hitman 2 Silent Assassin and Hitman Contracts. However at least for me there's some frustrating bugs that make it almost unplayable, my character keeps getting stuck and can't move, the camera also glitches out and my character is facing the wrong way. I tried turning on vsync, triple buffering and limiting the framerate but nothing worked, and I'm using windows 10. I'll try the sequel to see if it's better
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old graphics but a neat little stealth game, i would equate it to hitman but ww2
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like a WW2 Hitman with no other difficulty option but hard.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →whatever you do, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! Controls feel really weird, when you do the training level you get stuck everywhere. I had my camera bugged out so I didn't know where I was walking. This game is a BIG NO! Not even worth 1 euro
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is just like communism. it doesn't work
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm going to preface this by saying THIS IS A GAME FOR MILITARY, STEALTH OR MILITARY STEALTH NERDS. If you want a game similar to the third game, Alekhine's Gun, you will not find that here. This is very much an "of its time" game. But, that said, as difficult as it is (cos, again, it's of its time, meaning it's harder than it ever needed to be), I do kinda like what they produced here. I mean, they added a realistically difficult military conspiracy game here. Something where you need to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old school hitman stealth. Disguises is the name of the game here. Quite clunky and dated, but I still liked it. If you really like social stealth genre, or just hardcore stealth in general, this is a pretty good classic game for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →W video game, very underrated, 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Save Scumming: The Game ft. Bad Controls
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very very hesitant review. slavjank hitman. incredibly buggy, with most easy to walk around or easy to fix. the fun parts of the game are very fun but the levels are not as freeform as hitman levels and there is much less freedom and creativity in the carrying out of assassinations. disguise system is fun though. game is also one of the hardest games i've ever played.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice Hitman-like game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's been eight years since the best stealth game I played and I found it again, the AI, details, graphics, missions and story are the best in that year, this is the 9th time I've finished the game with the challenge :) I can confidently say that it is better than Hitman and other stealth games. There are other versions that I haven't played and I hope it will be as great as this one. Hoping for a remake....
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got gunned downed by German soldiers in the first level for bandaging my leg after falling off a balcony. 10/10 best stealth AI ever!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just to clarify, I am not reviewing the actual game or story here (as will be understood why below), but providing a review to warn other potential buyers. I sadly would not recommend this game. Whilst the concept and game does appeal to me, it just wouldn't work properly. I installed it, launched the game, which crashed. I then relaunched it and this time got in. Went to do the training and upon starting the obstacle course, when jumping over blocks my character would freeze in the air for a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I honestly don't know what all the negative reviews are on about. This game doesn't really feel any more frustrating than the average stealth game, and the level design seems to encourage the kind of creative "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that actually worked!" strats that we love to play for. I have beaten six levels on Hard difficulty and got Wolfhound on every level except one (The castle rescue level. No idea how you're supposed to pull that one off). Overall, I would highly recommend this game for any fan of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game bought on sale, started first time: Crashed. Started again, set resolution to my 1080p native resolution: Crashed. Played the tutorial: After moving 2 meters I was unable to move faster than 1 step per 10 seconds. Very infuriating. Maybe it's my install, since I see many positive reviews, but for me it's a definite no-no.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like a WW2 Hitman
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good idea but one of the least playable games ever made you have to click three times to fire a gun and you can barely jump over a small obstacle
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very hard russian stealth action. Impossible to play on high difficult also. Like Commandos met Hitman. Recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to enjoy this game, but after stumbling at like tenth invisible wall on the tutorial I gave up. Literally unplayable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like stealth games based on WW2 then this is for you. Good Game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If Hitman was a WWII game ... ... this would probably be it. Though to be honest I am making that comparison in case you haven't heard of this game. Death to Spies plays a lot like Hitman ( closer to Silent Assassin/ Contracts ) but takes place in the early 1940's. You take the role of a Russian agent who was promoted and then worked for Smersh. The story is explained with a framed narrative, meaning that what you see in the cutscenes is the present, but you play the missions that took…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →VERY GOOD IF U WANT THE GOOD OLD NOSTALGIC HITMAN STEALTHILY GAMES HIGHLY RECOMMEND
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far made it to the fourth mission, so here goes.. Despite the slightly odd controls, it's a surprisingly nice to play hitman-style infiltration game. English translation could be better, but not encountered any slavjank yet. Civvie would approve! Picked it up on sale and recommend you do too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game where you can see the young Hitman before he went bald and got a barcode
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like Hitman 2 - Silent Assassin, but much harder. Going guns blazing is a bad idea. Requires patience
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Clunky hitman set in ww2. A little tough to learn and work with but it follows the hitman formula in a ww2 setting despite a few bad levels I think this game was fun much better than the games that came after.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →spys dont deservve death :(
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →does not even start nowadays! xD
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →new hitman dlc pretty cool
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good stealth but hard
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun (if slightly flawed) Hitman-like game set in World War 2. Glitchy, but a good game. I'm looking forward to playing the sequel! Also, it runs well on Linux!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Damn this game takes me a long time to beat on each level but it is a really good game. I'm usually not a fan of stealth games as I get frustrated easily but for some reason I'm enjoying this one. I guess I like the atmosphere. It's also good for listening to slavic music or podcasts in the background. Recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is quite hard for first timers. Players need to plan things out to complete the missions. Needs patience and timing. Harder than the Hitman games I played. Overall, its a good game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buggy and Broken
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game.. That's it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A poor man's Hitman. Make no mistake, though, it's a very solid stealth game. My only complaint is that the game is too short.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I must say one of the best third person shooter/stealth games in my opinion ,such a great experience playing it. Very trying game as you go up with the difficulties! I recommend it and its only 2.99 if you buy the gold edition!
