Death Race
Terminal Island, New York: 2020. Overcrowding in the US penal system has reached a breaking point. Prisons have been turned over to a monolithic Weyland Corporation, which sees jails full of thugs as an opportunity for televised sport. Adrenalized inmates, a global audience hungry for violence and a spectacular, enclosed arena come together to form the 'Death Race', the biggest, most brutal event. From TMDB

Rollerball (released the same year) is way better, but Death Race is worth watching just for the ridiculous characters, absurd cars and Carradine as Frankenstein. #Filmsky #Moviesky

unlabelledView post →Mary Woronov is a film goddess. She's appeared in such gems as Chelsea Girls, Death Race 2000, Eating Raoul, Rock ‘n’ Roll High School, and The Devil’s Rejects. On mainstream TV she guested on Charlie’s Angels, Mr. Belvedere, and Murder, She Wrote.
unlabelledView post →By 28, you and your gay friend group should be obsessed with the 1975 dystopian science fiction action comedy film Death Race 2000, starring David Carradine, directed by Paul Bartel and produced by Roger Corman
unlabelledView post →I... cannot believe I am the first person to mention Death Race 2000? Surely I'm not. Death Race 2000 is the best Kill the President movie.
unlabelledView post →Mr. Beast's version of Queen For A Day, the Hunger Games, The Running Man, The Longest Walk, Death Race 2000, of every dystopian novel or movie in which the elite literally torture the poor, and say they chose to do it - because the promises of wealth are too high to ignore in desperation. 🤬

unlabelledView post →just watched Death Race 2000 for the first time tonight. I need to show this movie to everyone I know.
unlabelledView post →Who 1st came up the idea of mixing car culture and dystopian sci fi together? Whoever it was, their name should be taught in schools as they created one of the great subgenres. DEATH RACE isn't the best film in said subgenre but it's up there. Amazing how much Bartel and co got outta a meagre budget
unlabelledView post →Around February this year I did another movie inspired Hot Wheels mod for Gaslands. I made Frankenstein's car from the 1975 film Death Race 2000 out of a '72 Stingray Convertible. I had to make adjustments for build differences, also changes to the alligator pattern. #gaslands #wargaming #miniatures

unlabelledView post →is Death Race 2000 the best movie ever made about America
unlabelledView post →The Slime and Verney teams for the #Gaslands Open are complete. I think having six cars for each of the 12 sponsors will be enough gifts for new players for a while. The Slime theme is inspired by the Buzzards in Fury Road. The basic black Verney theme is from Death Race movie remake.

Like “I spent four hours stuck in traffic today and I want to kill everyone” Letterboxd: Grab some popcorn, you’re watching Death Race 2000!
unlabelledView post →I never realized how much accurate commentary the 1975 film, Death Race 2000 has to shed light on the actual political climate that exists in the US today. (Rewatch it and you’ll see what I mean.)
unlabelledView post →#MovieMadness A film you would recommend I watched a few films this year - I would recommend Star Crash as the best, it’s great fun! I would also recommend Death Race 2000 and Gamera: Super Monster
unlabelledView post →here's one of my favorite moments in cinema history (and another Mary Woronov movie!), the first kill in Death Race 2000 (1975)

unlabelledView post →Apparently the 1975 film "Death Race 2000" with Sylvester Stallone and the 1976 arcade game "Death Race" have no direct relationship. Dropping a tombstone of facts today 🏎️🪦 #Fursuit
unlabelledView post →DEATH RACE 2000 (1975, Amazon, #film) Roger Corman's absurdly engrossing and visually inventive cartoonish automobile action farce set in an infantile post-American idiocracy. This really is the prototype for so much that came later and it's a crime we forgot how to make movies where things happen.
unlabelledView post →watched Cube and Death Race 2000 with my daughter tonight. midway through Death Race 2000 she said "there sure are a lot of boobs in this movie" to which i responded "i think that's pretty common in '70s movies". curious, where has our culture gone

[NOTE: The “Death Race” is a challenge to see EVERY Oscar-nominated movie, no matter what it’s nominated for. It’s not easy, and at times can be a grueling task; but it’s worth it to see stuff we wouldn’t otherwise see.]

Bartel’s Corman-forced folllow up to DEATH RACE 2000, lacks the wacky sci-fi satire, but makes up for it with a great cast and plentiful car crash mayhem. 7/10 #grindhouse #carsploitation #rogercorman #davidcarridine #filmsky
