  Boring and repetitive. Being unable to keep your inventory items or space feels like I'm wasting my time when I dare to explore more than is necessary for the objective. Since you start every level in the run with no items and your stats reset, it becomes extremely repetitive waaay faster than it should. Can't recommend, play Deadly Days instead.

  The bones of a very good VS-like are absolutely here. Also getting definite Zombies Ate My Neighbors vibes, and that is high praise. Can I recommend it? Sort of.   Dead Engine is trying to hard to be to many genres and fails at being a simple rougelike, game has absolutely no dialoge so "story" if a five second comic strip in the beginning is a story. why is there a camp mechanic? or an inspection/trade mechanic? good thing i have nothing to trade and i love when gameplay is mine rocks and chop trees for npcs that dont talk, love when a game has no idea about pacing or fun gameplay. i was ready for another flavor of 2d horde killer, but if its a taste…

  way too unbalanced for the moment. melee is unplayable, and ranged enemies kill you almost instantly. progression is too slow and after 10+ runs ending within the 1st level, simply too hard. overall interesting ideas and mechanics, nice art-style and imho a good potential but so far just too unbalanced.

  Finished the demo and couldn't wait for release. Waited the first patch and just started to play but it looks fantastic so far. As someone who plays tons of vampire survivors-like games, this game is a nice breath of fresh air, and to my liking, game is not too easy. I will update my review once I finish the game.

  I really loved the concept, it’s very fun. The art is beautiful, and the survival gameplay is enjoyable. It has some issues, but since it’s released in early access, I believe they’ll sort them out. It will get better as it receives updates. I hope gamepad support arrives very soon.

  Doesn't feel finished. I won the first run i tried just picking whatever was higher rarity and walking around the maps looking for loot. Filled up the backpack expansion pickups a few levels before the end and the ones picked up after didn't do anything. After the run, i think i softlocked myself, by clearing an area and not having the wood to build a campfire.

  The bag mechanics and the survivor camp mechanics are a fresh take on the genre and i feel like these mechanics should be the basis of the game moving forward.
