But for that special few, that can complete all of the dad challenges that must be faced, may just have what it takes to be a great dad. Anyone can be a dad, male or female, it's your choice. In this 2D platformer, you will be taking control of a dad, then you must teach your child all the knowledge you can, so they can be the best weapon a child can be, for in this unusual world invincible children are raised as…

Feels a bit like Gunpoint and Ronin in the way it plays, a good ammount of humour. Not very hand-holdy which I think works in its favour and the levels seem quite big with no real idea where to go. Savepoints and health refills are sparse so that adds to the challenge.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Welcome to an experience that will incite laughter, joy, and relatable drama. I played this game twice through in order to create its first "Dadthrough". I love its humor, I love its gameplay/mechanics, and its story is filled with detailed anecdoates that capture my imagination. Dad Quest is a triumph that seeks to demonstrate the power of conviction. We might not be impervious, but we can be resilient! Our will can persevere! I have shared this game with my friends, family, and social…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dad Quest is a game I stumbled upon and immediately purchased after learning the premise. I was looking forward to a comedic game with a lot of silly dad jokes and not much else going on. However, it didn’t take long for things to get just a little more serious in the way the story is delivered. Abbreviated Review: https://youtu.be/vwx--MUjENM It’s a Dadventure… Dad Quest kicks off with plenty of comedy and an overall light approach to the way the game is going to play out. You pick a male or…

unlabelledView post →Feels pretty lacking for a game that was supposed to be released in December 2016 for the people who backed it on kickstarter, but now instead it's in Early Access on steam for half the price I paid for it, with maybe an hour of content?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can watch me play the first 40ish minutes of the game here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qH4ALHEIruc For an Early Access title this has great promise. Platforming is solid with nice tight and responsive controls. The fighting mechanics are funny as hell and add depth beyond the regular fare of stomping and producing magical fireballs that other plaformers offer. Nothing can quite compare to the bond between a Dad and his pigeon splatting child's forehead. While the graphics are simple,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh and completely overlooked game, but Dad Quest, far better than its silly premise would have you believe store.steampowered.com/app/524250/D...
unlabelledView post →It's okay and I'd recommend it to kids, but I feel its humour dies off rather quickly and the gameplay only gets exciting close to the ending, a lot of it is a drag.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dad Quest was really fun to play. Funny conversations, characters and of course mechanics (because well, you throw your child around and can teach them different skills!). It was really enjoyable and would love a sequel, or even a new edition with more content and such (I felt like it could've been a far bigger metroidvania! more skills, outfits that gave some kind of bonus, or stuff like that). Overall I really liked it. If anyone is wondering if you should get it, I would say give it a go…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dad Quest is definitely worth your money. It's funny and manages to incorporate several unique mechanics. This sat in my backlog for awhile, an indie gem waiting to be played. Also you can earn Dadges, err, I mean badges.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm going to be a father soon. Should I take notes?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really good early access game, the dad/child mechanic is pretty simple yet really fun to play with from what's given to us and I can't wait for it to have more upgrades and toys for your child.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Surprisingly this isn't because of the contents of the game, the gameplay was neat and the story had it's own charm and silliness to it. I really wish I actually could have finished the game. The reason I have to give the game a not recommended is there are game breaking glitches that will cause the game to crash or make progress near impossible without editing the game files to warp past the problem areas. And even then I'm not sure if more problems would arise later on. Here is the link to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dad Quest is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro pixel platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This one has visual novel and adventure game elements, as some effort seems to have gone into using the wrong game engine to publish the wrong kind of game on the wrong platform. There's a few jokes and a comedy theme as you use your own child as a weapon, but the mirth wears off quickly as you see just how badly put together this is (on…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has good humor but that's pretty much it... Gameplay is okay but the damage scaling is bad (close to none) and it's just painful to get barraged by normal enemies during mid/end game - fighting swarm of enemies with zero cooldown on their attack while your only move is on a 3-4s cooldown (and deal minimal damage) Also what's the deal with the final boss? Where is my super awesome big bad dad duel-wielding children as chainblades?? This is a 6/10 for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First off, I'm not recommending because I think its bad, I actually enjoyed playing this game quite a bit, but the main reason why I cant recommend it is because the game seems to not run very well on modern hardware or in general. Let me first say why the game was enjoyable. The story is pretty cute, the game in general is very charming and has this sort of wholesome vibe to it. At times I felt sort of comfortable and relaxed playing the game due to certain areas and tracks from the ost. They…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i base all my parenting strategies on this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dad Quest is a wonderful platformer game with a good story, fantastic music, great humor, social commentary, and most importantly plenty of dad humor. Having backed the kickstarter all the way back in 2016, I can say this game truely was worth the investment for all of the joy it brought me to play it. Highly recommended to play with Mouse and Keyboard because aiming with thumbsticks is challenging.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is honestly amazing. Imagine being a dad that turns your child into a Pokemon. Sounds amazing, right? Not convinced? Watch me play the first ten minutes[url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02Co045NRr4] here.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →5/10 was fun/funny at first, but the gimmick got old never got around to finishing the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far, so good. :0) This is a fun little game & the developers seem cool. With the big discount now, what are you waiting for??! Not too easy / Not too hard 7 out 10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've only just started but so far this game is awesome and I'll be gifting it this year to my brother-in-law for fathers day, between you and I, he could really use the child based combat training. At the moment his go-to technique is tickling, which he is proficient at, however that only has the potential to stun, but doesn't inflict any real damage.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →-10/10 Be me, playing this amazing masterpiece of a game, simulating what I wish the life of me and my son could be like; killing floating potatoes by bashing his head against them. I come across a pig who says he will give me a hat if I beat his game in under 20 seconds--but its not just any hat, no no no; it's a propeller beanie for my small little boy to have extra head-whacking power. I try, and try, and try again, every time learning new tricks and getting a better score. I get my new…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thanks to this game, I have been able to raise my children correctly. I have also seen the number of pigeons decrease which is a good thing! Thanks devs!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very underrated game. The dad jokes are unsurprisingly all over the place. The story is so silly yet so well excecuted. Controls are fine, not too precise. Had a good time playing this
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun platformer, doesn't take itself too seriously and has a kinda ridiculous plot but it works. If you like platformers / silly stories I think you'd like it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really had a good time playing Dad Quest, especially because my 5 year old kid was sitting by my side watching it... the most amazing question he asked was: "Daddy why did you never threw me like that?". Well, there are some questions that should never been answered... But let's back to the game... The game is a very nice 2D platformer, with colorful graphics and a really nice pixel art style that I quite enjoyed. The game has a fast learning curve and it is very easy to play both with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1st hour 1st impressions: It's a little text-heavy, but the dialogues are generally very funny. The levels are metroidvania-ish but you don't have any sort of map to keep track of where you're going. The levels are not huge, so it's not really a problem. It's definitely worth some laughs, and it is fun to throw your kid around at evil pigeons and flying eggs. I had no problems using an Xbox 360 controller. I'd get it on sale if you like metroidvanias and have a good sense of humor. 7/10 would…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Disclaimer: My scores/reviews are almost always based on having bought the game at close to the "lowest historical price" on steam at time of purchase. Quick score: 5/5 Notes: Great game, great soundtrack. Extremely underrated on steam.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like any parent, you'll want to throw your kids away. They keep coming back though. They always keep coming back.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Be a Dad! Make Dad jokes! Wear cargo shorts! Hate pigeons! Hug your child! Beat pigeons into submission by wielding said child as a blunt-force weapon! 10/10!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just now finished this game for a LP and all I have to say is, wow. I absolutely loved this game from beginning to end. A fun platformer with a hilarious story. I highly recommend this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dad Quest is a 2-D platformer with very dad-tastic humour with heavy reliance on using your own child as a projectile weapon and occasionally a club. Story wise, it doesn't matter, it's more about the really off the cuff dad humour that goes a bit too far in some scenarios. While I did get a good chuckle from the jokes it offered on occasion, for every seven jokes it told, only one of them landed for me, and this only got worse as time went on. Despite its short length and relatively rapid…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/fynPPebR6o8 Not a perfect game but pretty goofy and I like that. It's a fairly easy, straightforward, linear game but I liked that as well. Exactly what I wanted from something like this. It didn't overstay its welcome and the combat and world are unique enough to hold my attention. Take special note that it's mostly ranged combat since the hit boxes aren't super precise. However, ranged combat is tricky because if you miss a throw and have to try and get your kid back you're…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Travel the post-apocalyptic landscape wielding your child as a weapon and being the best dad you can be. 10/10 what Fallout 4 should have been.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its my first year as a Dad and this game has helped me out on raising my son. I was defintely doing it all wrong, but now my son can finally be the weapon he was meant to be. I have begun my Dad Quest.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fun and funny game that I'd call a light metroidvania. The game has some challenge, but works well for people like me who don't have the skill or patience for all the back tracking and death.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Per many people, I wait to play a game until it's out of Early Access. Went through the whole game today and am shocked that it was more than a short meme game. Dad Quest finds it's place after the first couple areas and finds it's similarities with contemporary metroidvanias; and can be closer to Guacamelee if anything. Dad jokes are sprinkled about, and you'll be surprised when the game does take itself seriously, and even when it doesn't. Graphics: A+ Soundtrack: A+ Fun: A

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tutorial is long and boring It might be fun after that but I don't plan on figuring that out
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dad Quest is a lame pixelated snore fest blah

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game does not progress after finishing tutorial. Waste of time
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →some of you will get to relive your childhood as the weapon and not the weapee
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good game with a good sense of humor. The platforming is fun, although for a metroidvania the map unlocks way too linear. Many issue with the game is the combat. Throwing your child, while funny, means that once thrown you can't attack again. And recalling your child takes a while, so you have to run around and wait for your child to return. Worse: Power attacks are done by holding left click and recalling is also left click, so often times when done recalling I would still hold the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Context: Was gifted from a friend to commemorate(?) becoming a real-life dad for the first time a few months back. Control Method: Xbox 360 controller 'Thoroughness of playthrough' - completed 80% of achievements within first playthrough, remaining bonuses completed in 2-3 hours afterwards, though some collectibles left undiscovered, Plot: The storyline concept was pretty unique and a lovely way to learn about the 'dad universe' without over-explaining aspects of the world & lore; Greatly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a wonderful game. I really had a good time playing this. To be honest, i had bought this as a meme-ish game (like 'shower with your dad simulator') and was only planing to play for one time but i was pleasantly surprised on how it hooked me with it's gameplay and fun story. It is a metroidvania-lite game and has a nice and enjoyable story, nothing serious. I have already gotten a few friends this game and would recommended this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just became a dad myself, so I couldn't pass up checking this one out. I was a bit skeptical that the experience would be little more than a long drawn out joke about using your child as a weapon, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise at around 10 hours of enjoyable gameplay. Dad Quest made me laugh out loud more than once. Many games try and fail to be funny, but this one has a sharp sense of humor that often surprises. Though the gameplay mostly sticks to tried-and-true…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Funny and cute. Game is repeating itself from the beginning but i enjoyed few minutes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's quite good. Not difficult and not too long. Worth a playthrough.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was an absolute blast to play. The dad humor was absolutely on point. The main game play gimmick of using your tiny child as a weapon was both hilarious and well done. Even addressed in game. The upgrades felt interesting and worthwhile to try and switch between. (I preferred the keyboard and mouse controls due to how aiming works). I would have liked some more menus/information control of quests I was on and things I was searching for. Overall a solid humor title, with some fun…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great little game. Worth the money. It's kind of like a mini metroidvania. Took me 10 hours to finish it. It's pretty well polished but could have used a few more side quests and things to do with gravel once you max out. Also, it was sorely lacking a map system and "current objective" reminder. That made it easy to get lost or pick up where you left off after not playing for a week or so. But good times, none the less.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A surprisingly deep story with some really good humorous sequences! In many ways it is a criticism and also a love letter to classic adventure-style progressions.
