I asked my wife if she felt I did her a disservice by not making the game more historically sexist, and she said no. So, I guess, fuck those haters.

Who does this benefit? The game enmasses negative reviews thereby limiting sales, and players who've been anticipating this game for years are let down. This game is so broken that it's impossible to progress. They've literally added a 'respawn' button because they know people are going to get stuck in geometry or can't climb out…

First chapter: If you place the wrong stone, the stone has a chance to simply vanish so you cant take it out and place the right one. So you are stuck and have to respawn at last checkpoint. Well, this last checkpoint saved the stone placement so you have to restart the whole chapter. Didnt get the clue first and had to restart the first chapter 3 times. Second chapter: Now in the second chapter it is even…

How they managed to make a Lovecraftian horror game that looks this good but feels this annoying and lifeless to play is a fascinating question. I'll throw this out to the universe: A story requires a character. Maybe even two characters or three characters. Maybe even a whole lot of characters if you're writing multiple books in a…

Major Bugs: Unfortunately, at this point, I’ve had enough. The bugs are killing the fun. I had to restart whole chapters multiple times just to make any progress. Sometimes I couldn't jump or climb anymore; other times, essential objects wouldn't become visible/interactable. Right now, it’s unplayable for me due to these technical issues. It’s a shame because the core idea,…

unlabelledView post →As everyone else is saying - game is absolutely broken, can't go 15 minutes without encountering game breaking bugs (can't analyze, can't jump, or the confirm button just doesn't work). The story and the presentation are fantastic, the atmosphere is great as well, but the bugs just ruin any enjoyment. It seems the devs are not in a hurry to fix these bugs, so I absolutely DO NOT recommend this game. And for a big fan of Lovecraft as I am, this is really a shame. The potential was there.

Quite hard you have to read a lot and pay attention, especially if you want to get the low corruption path. Basically you can progress in two different ways. For example, in the third chapter, you can either put the crowns on top of the skeletons head, or you can use the spheres, placing them onto the big yellow shields. Another example is in chapter 5, when you can either eliminate the monster or hypnotize it. And…

unlabelledView post →Massive game breaking bug that blocks progression and very little communication from devs. Who by the way base their bug prioritization off a VOTING system. The progression bug has two votes so who knows if they will even get to it in a reasonable time. It's been 4 days and I still can't play the game I have paid for. It's a shame too because its a really enjoyable game too.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When this game is working as intended, it's firing on all cylinders. Great atmosphere, fantastic setting, decent plot, some nice effects and some memorable puzzles. The deduction "mind map" has the potential for greatness. Unfortunately, the game rarely works as intended. As all the other negative reviews mention, this game is completely ridden with bugs. In order to fix blurry hair I had to make my own engine.ini file; there was no way to adjust the options causing it in the game settings…

Loved the demo, full game is disappointing. Game is so buggy and I got soft locked on the 6th chapter because I cannot pick up the cube, it is now locked into the base with its engravings which may I add the puzzle for the final door is literally impossible because even after you do all the constellations they don't even remotely match the engraving you are…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed the atmosphere of this and the story. The bugs though, man the bugs. Randomly losing controls when trying to mouse move, it just pings everything, having to restart the game to fix it. Random puzzles not solving, then in the citadel it doesn't let me make orbs anymore. After a dozen restarts due to controls and stuff not working, I've decided I'm giving up on this game for now. Hopefully the devs can fix the bugs and I can finish the game. The lack of testing on this is wild, even…

unlabelledView post →Game looks great, it nails the atmosphere, visuals and voice acting. I had no performance issues. However, to say that game is not what I was hoping for would be an understatement. I expected somewhat standard survival horror with Lovecraftian theme, with similar mechanics. That is not the case here. It seems that every puzzle needs additional ten steps to complete without any real reason, other than to stretch the gameplay. According to Steam I've played for two hours. It seemed way longer…

What makes this a hard no rather than a "wait for a patch"? Big Bad Wolf is reportedly being shut down by Nacon as part of its insolvency, weeks after this shipped. If that holds, there is nobody left to fix any of this. Shame, because what I played of it before it fell apart, I was enjoying. Don't buy it in this state. Some of the bugs I…

Its the usual Cthulhu story with even less suspense and the usual cookie-cutter looks , creatures and settings you'd expect from any of these so-called "lovecraftian…

I learned this firsthand. I went in wanting a scary, gripping experience, but what I was met with was a slow slog. The game is a first-person, Lovecraftian, story-driven investigation game, and it completely misses the mark on keeping you engaged. That said, I wanted to write a review so that people can go into this with the correct expectations (which I certainly did not have). It is a horror game? Visually, sure. Gameplay-wise? No. Is it a game set in the Lovecraftian universe? Yes. Is it a puzzle game? Yes. Is it anything besides that? Also no. The good: - visuals are fine - Lovecraftian lore - atmosphere is spot on - in-game help available if…
