As far as I know, there isn't even a work-around You don't even get the whole DLC when you get this one, you have to buy a DLC for the unfinished DLC. Wow. Even EA would be impressed here
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Almost unplayable without the Pay2w Ranger company. Those you have to buy extra in a DLC ! If you play it without them be ready for an unfair and relentless scenario where you can neither save, nor recover from any slightly bad decision. I got this for free from some sort of promotion and i still feel robbed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ardennes Assault… more like Ardennes ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. So basically, you think you're buying some nice, juicy extra missions for Company of Heroes 2, right? Wrong. What you get is an entirely different game mode, slapped together with more strings attached than a used car from a shady dealership. You get to choose three companies to play with, out of four total. But oh-ho-ho, what's this? One of them is locked behind a paywall! Yeah, before you even set foot on the battlefield, they’re already reaching…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →nice game about soldiers havin a.n.a.l. sex in the woods while their comrades dying from tanks and big milfs with guns god bless the war! and equality (btw i'm just stupid americano didn't want offend anyone hehe)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Company of Heroes 2 is a continuation of the popular RTS game where the player commands an army during World War II. Ardennes Assault is an expansion pack that adds a new campaign and introduces many new elements to the gameplay. Graphics: Highly detailed scenery and unit models. Special effects and animations are of high quality. Gameplay: Fast-paced and dynamic gameplay. Many interesting missions and challenges. Introduction of new units and tactical elements. Sound design: Original and…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The AI is absolutely unfair. I started the campaign like 20 times over the last years and stopped playing after a few missions, for multiple reasons, often because I was just bored. But today I installed it again. I know how to play and I know how to use my units. The first 2 missions are quite easy, but the third one with the paratroopers is absolutely insanity. You fight against the germans over 3 main points. There are multiple minor points that give you resource bonuses. At the beginning…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played for 20 hours, get to final mission. Some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mission where you have to get kills with vehicles. Mission bugs out where enemy tanks are unkillable, just eats shells with one shot health. Loose campaign. ♥♥♥♥ THIS ♥♥♥♥
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its pretty good in principle, sadly some of the core mechanics have been broken by updates to the basegame and never been fixed. This DLC should NOT be on the Steam Store. It is currently not functioning correctly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Should come with the western armies
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ew. There's DLC in my DLC!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The single player campaign in Ardennes Assault is basically just random skirmish games against an overpowered AI opponent. There are a handful of story missions throughout the game, but most of the time you are playing generic skirmish maps. The balance is also completely off: while you usually start with a base camp and a single unit of engineers, the enemy will start or quickly get more/better troops and vehicles. This allows them to quickly dominate the map while you are still starving for…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ expansion. It would've been cool. It had potential. But some missions are just so damn annoying. Just the defending the sanatorium one, for example. No matter how much fuel I have saved up, how many points I've captured. I always, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, fail at the last attack, when they rush you with all kinds of OP tanks, and you are trying to defend against them rushing your point with your paper tanks that blow up after 1 hit or 2 hits from them then they rush you with SO MANY people that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember somehow finishing this DLC years back on normal difficulty. Recently I wanted to try it out on hard and, of course, it's pure misery. The difficulty curve is all over the place. In that regard It's kind of similar to the Theatre of War, which boils down to two mission types: impossible or stupidly easy. Nothing in between. Ardennes Assault however, is somehow even worse. Particularly due to lack of a campaign-level save button. So no save scumming this time. The buffer of error is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →campaign extremely bugged
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thanks god I got this DLC for free. it´s awfully bad. Sometimes enemy tank is invicible. So you can´t win. You won´t have enough supplies anytime. So everytime you need to attack something or defend it´s always pain. Becouse against your hardly recruited 2 rifleman, machine gun and anti tank gun German will have about 3 tanks, 10 infantry ...... I hoped it will be good but the reality hit me really hard. I lost the mission where I had to take over tanks but I never had enough fuel. And I had…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Company of heroes 2 SUICIDE assault Review This campaign is really unforgiving, is not hard, is just....ridiculous... Starting from the fact that, playing with the United States forces is already a handicap, your tanks are thin paper compared to the german ones (i understand that this is historically accurate but still). There is a invincible tank bug that ruined one of my last mission, this haven`t been patched since release from what i see. The killing point of it, is the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Russophobic crap
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bugged, and doesn't even give America for the cost of a full campaign? Also, tanks are the equivalent of light vehicles, don't stand a chance against any form of anti-vehicle and do piss damage.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My own Stuarts became invincible after the Germans captured it, ruining my campaign. I'm giving it a negative review solely for that bug which they know about but haven't fixed after 9(!) years.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This DLC is absolute garbage. If you want the OP commander, PAY extra on a DLC The enemy rolls up on you with panthers and rocket artillery within the first 5-10 minutes, and you have no anti tank or resources to unlock tanks or any way to REASONABLY contest them and defend yourself. You are constantly starved for resources (but in an impossible way, not a challenging way) and the enemy wipes your units all the time, meaning you lose 'health' on your unit on the map part, and it does not give…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Virtually none of the bugs have been fixed since its release.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nope, don't even think about buying it, unless if... ... you have a passion to buy a DLC, in another DLC and get robbed twice. (Relic is being innovative here actually, P2W in a singleplayer game, which you already paid for) ... watch your troops can't shoot a single bullet straight (yes, far worse than the original game), while the enemy troops are all roaming around like MG-sharpshooters. ... see an enemy Tiger at your base while you are still struggling to have a Lieutenant, whose…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NIckel and dimed us again. Waited until this was free or I would not have got it. Probably will never play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enemy kubelwagens dealing suppresion damage ? Enemy spawning pumas at 5 minutes ? Enemy artillery having no fog of war ? AI instead of fighting just wooshes around the map magically taking points that are unprotected ? We have it all
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →scummy monetization
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →OK, I bought this a while back but I'm getting back into the game now so I'm going to lay this out for you. This is major ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ - honestly, this is the kind of ♥♥♥♥ that should have laws against it. PART 1: The Campaign This DLC features a campaign where you manage the U.S. Forces in Belgium. It grants access to the Ardennes Assault singleplayer campaign, and use of the U.S. units within. However, upon starting the campaign, it immediately gives you the illusion of choosing 3 out of four…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The campaign is kinda fun but it's absolutely broken. I've started it twice and both times I've had to stop playing because the game just crashes midway through every battle. This isn't a problem in the base game so I have no idea why this happens.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super very unforgiving campaign. Your forces cannot take on the enemies 1 on 1 and you really don't want anyone die, so it really calls for coordination and superior firepower strategies. ie. retrying a lot. What's worse, while the company strength limitation discourages blindly dropping Paratroopers, there's also a bug preventing Able from building any Pathfinder, so half the time your Paratroopers cannot even get reinforcements even if you decided to use them aggressively. This is dumb.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Remember the Kronus campaign from Dawn of War 1: Dark Crusade? This is that, more or less. Its a pretty fun and slightly replayable campaign that does get you to experiment with and experiance the full spectrum of the American faction. To this day it still has annoying bugs like an entire faction specific and important unit being unusable, and some missions difficulty feels way harder than informed on the map- HOWEVER. It is just a campaign. it is not the American faction pack. You don't get…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't buy. This so called campaign is just a money grab. Most of the missions are gimmicks and its obvious this was a minimal effort thing. The base COH2 campaign is pretty good but this is just pure hogwash churned out to make money. Can't believe I fell for this. Ugh.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The devs were dumb enough to have the single player campaign here share unit balance with multiplayer, which means that all the years of balance patches they made for multiplayer completely broke the campaign balance, to the point that its an absolute slog and not fun in any way. Don't buy, just get the USF multiplayer army instead
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't try to finish the campaign, it just too hard. It is not like a challenge that makes the game interesting, it is plain bad. Also this campaign is like iron mode, you can not retry mission. My life is too short to try to enjoy a game that is just broken. Also I didn't appreciate that the Fox company has to be buy it :/
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easily the worst campaign I've ever seen in an RTS, not that I've played many. I'm not a fan of the US Forces as a faction, but that is not the problem here. Missions are linear, boring, trivial and look like they've been made by an unpaid intern. It is more fun to just go into a multiplayer session against AI. Despite buying the game in the most non ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (I bought the All Out War version from a 3rd party website, it includes all the commanders and DLC other than the 4th company for this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You have to pay actual money to unlock snipers. First level is good, second is like a one sized one vs one, third level is literally a 1v1 vs bot.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This dlc is a shame! Ive got this for free and it feels I've been robbed! The campaign is awful, repetitive, the capture points is a kill fun. Compared to the soviet campaign it feels like Ardennes Assault is a side quest. Repetitive side quests. Oh! And there's a dlc inside this dlc! So you fell like you got robbed twice in one move! Not worth of your time
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if you want to spend multiple hours Getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by crappy game mechanics and game modes while the oberkammndos simultaneus ♥♥♥♥ you with their troops supeiror to yours in everyway and this dlc for 20 dollars requires you to spend another 5 even to get all the content the dlc has i feel like even EA would be like yo you gotta cut back thats a little too much greed like i love this game but this campeign introduces you to the AIDS that is oberkommandos and just is so buggy its so bad
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love CoH but this is a scripted bug riddled hell, miss one step and all is lost. It has its fun factor but the puzzles ...really ?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I felt a bit weak.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried to like this DLC, but the issues are visible.. 1. The Rangers battalion (which i heard is the most OP and the one that actually gives you a chance for what i'm gonna say at the 2nd point) is locked behind YET ANOTHER paywall, DLC within a DLC... not good 2. The first 2-3 missions that are made the same way as the campaign are alright, but once you get to see the map itself, and get to go to those missions.. they are IMPOSSIBLY difficult for the casual, maybe even the veteran player,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This must be one of the worst balanced campaigns in the Company of Heroes franchise. Unless you play pitch perfect, you will be ambushed by a tiger in your base before you even have a lieutenant out. And don't even get me started on the virtually invisible buffs they get on harder difficulties. I like playing the game on hard mode, but 2 squads of Riflemen lost to 1 squad of pioneers. Come on.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Frankly put the balance in this DLC is awful. I beat the normal campaign on Hard and that doesn't hold a candle here. You will have a mission were you have infinitely spawning German tanks which are at the max level. While you can't even field your lowest tier of armor before they're literally camping your base with King Tigers. I have no idea who the people are below calling this underrated, in the first hour you'd probably agree. After that, it is trash. It goes from new maps to multiplayer…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you load a save that was saved in a mission some ai units don't take damage. Game doesn't allow you to take saves in the campaign map before a mission. Game breaking
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →****DO NOT BUY THIS GAME**** THERE IS AN INVINCIBLE ENEMY TANK BUG IN ONE OF THE MISSIONS WHERE YOU HAVE TO CLAIM VEHICLES THROUGHOUT THE MAP BEFORE THE ENEMY DOES The stuart tank they capture is completely invincible, you cannot kill it, not with bazookas, tank shells, nothing. I'm serious, I thought it was a fluke until I restarted the mission and it happened again. ***********DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!! IT DOESN'T WORK CORRECTLY!!! positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Company of heroes 2 is worse than company of heroes 1, honestly it looks good but it became more advanced and hud doesnt look right unlike in coh1, i also thought i could access US forces if i bought Ardennes Assault dlc but i needed to buy other dlc for US forces to be avaliable, you also have to pay for doctrines and commanders, coh1 aesthetics look better than coh2, i want to refund the game but i cant because i already have 2 hours in it, there's also barely any good mods unlike in coh1:…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Ardennes campaign was too unforgiving. I lost two battles because the game told me to move forward to a point when I should have stayed where I was. Then I had to restart the whole campaign because my entire unit died. THE WHOLE CAMPAIGN!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Relic, I have been a fan favorite of the Company of Heroes series. I love playing the Ardennes Assault campaign but at some point it the Airborne battlegroup has become unplayable due to the “Pathfinder” unit never being able to be deployed. When the DLC first came out it worked but it doesn't now. I want to enjoy the games that you make and I have been waiting to purchase any further games until I know that game breaking bugs in your series will not be added and then left to rot after I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it was good on launch but now its just an unenjoyable bug fest because of all the patches that came later. example of a bug is the invincible enemy tanks which are near game breaking. only did this campaign again to unlock stuff for multiplayer. 0/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Most social gamers prefer a simpler games. The Ardennes assault is good but with no saving option is problematic. You have to restart everything again if you failed in one of the mission. I been trying over and over. No point. Waste of time.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall a good game but with some fatal issues. Simple bugs such as pathfinders being locked out make it frustrating to play with the airborne company and are not fixed many years later despite being well known, and to withhold one of the companies (Rangers) is shameless monetisation.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →just play the first coh
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game mode is good, not much story but had fun. But the normal difficulty was too easy so I tried out hard. The way Relic makes game hard is the way I don't like. Instead of smarter AI, they just launch armored, tanks earlier. Which makes game more "hopeless" to win and stressful. Doesn't feel like you are playing against 「skilled opponent」 but rather playing 「unfair odds with horrible opponent」
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This campaign is the biggest ♥♥♥♥ Relic ever published.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →worst DLC ever..
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While still an RTS, Ardennes Assault takes a lot of cues from wargames. By opening it up and providing countless meaningful choices and random events, Relic has put the war in the players’ hands. It’s not a directed journey through a bunch of scenarios where winning is all that matters; it’s a persistent struggle where failure is always nipping at the Americans’ heels, where an entire company can be lost in battle, making the war seem even more desperate. It’s exhausting, and the best game in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’m a big CoH 1 fan. CoH 2 is not as good but the Russian campaign is pretty decent. But “Ardennes Assault” is very disappointing. They don’t let you save progress during missions, for me this makes in unplayable. There is 1 slot where you can “save and exit” so you can save the game and then re-enter it. But now during the third mission this saved game will not load, it makes the whole game crash.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been thinking about it and I saw it in another review too, the best way to explain Ardennes Assault is "Kronus from Dawn of War Dark Crusade but its WW2 Ardennes" that is what this is and funny thing Dark Crusade is both more replayable and more enjoyable then Ardennes Assault. Because in there you have lots of different factons to use. In here you can only be the Americans, fair enough, but you get 3 different Companies (essentially the same as choosing 1 of 3 commanders to get their…
