Artistically great but doesn't feel very "arcade classic" to me. Very loose and imprecise in terms of movement and hitboxes, too many buttons, often have to squint and scan the screen for the one tile you're missing. Just not that into it!!!

You can find more interesting reviews on [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/33843777//] Fenol Baron Approves Curator page Do not let Citrouille relax you with cute little witches, rich cartoon graphics and adorable bright locations. For an incredibly beautiful cover hides a very hardcore game that throws a serious challenge to the player. Citrouille has just a few zones with a handful of levels in each, and just a single boss fight. The levels are well-designed, and there are new threats introduced in each new area. However, it’s an extremely short game, and after a player has beaten it, there’s nothing to demand a second visit. The only sop towards longevity is a battle mode for up to four players that switches things up so that players are competing with one another instead of cooperating. It’s a decent twist on the formula,…

If some of you are wondering why this game looks familiar, that's because it's a clone of a little-known arcade game called Rodland. And it's a really good clone at that. Good graphics, fair difficulty, a lot of modes to choose from. good PC version, and a nice set of multiplayer options. It even tries to do some things differently from Rodland, like the magic spell mechanic, which I think is neat. I haven't gotten through much of the story so far, but it seems competent enough. I don't like…

Really the only redeemable factor is the art style, it's great and it's what drew me into buying it. The game is super basic, and that's fine for some game's, but the game has to have SOLID mechanics for simplistic games to work well and I just don't feel like that's the case here. Also the soundtracks are literally just royalty free Kevin MacLeod songs, which I can not overstate how awful the songs make the game feel to sit through. I'm sure we've all unwillingly heard our fair share of these…

"A classic arcade puzzle platformer game with adorable characters." Review Citrouille. It's made by Lumen Section and published by Plug In Digital. This publisher has often been a partner for good indie developers. Especially among them, Lumen Section is a hidden gem. This game has been designed so that the player can experience well the developer's affection for the game. This game is full of cuteness and loveliness. Let's have a look. Gameplay Style. This game has a modern sense about…

Yet another game with the #1 platformer issue: awful collision detection. I can't even begin to understand why it is so difficult, but it apparently is. Too bad.

Amazing indie platform game ! very dynamic, fun and annoyingly addictive :D Don't let the price demotivate you, it's more than worth it and helps small indie studios create more and more !

It's not Lode Runner, but it's not bad. Citrouille is a single-screen action game with a ladder-building mechanic inspired by Rod Land. Since there are no restrictions on when or where you can build ladders, you have a lot of freedom of movement. Combined with a relatively high game speed and random AI, it's clear that Citrouille is less about strategy and more about reflexes and adaptation. This is not in itself bad, but for how unique the ladder mechanic is, it's less deep than I had hoped.…

Challenging, old-school, and has a neat art style. The music is public-use, unfortunately. But worth it on discount.

Fun game with an arcade style to it, it's strongest feature is the great art and animation with lots of very detailed backgrounds and very cartoonishly animated enemies. It's a short game, featuring 5 worlds and a final boss (Which varies according to the character you're playing as). Also has couch co-op and versus modes which can add more replayability to the game if you got someone to play it with. Gameplay is basic but can quite challenging in later levels. Definitely recommended if you…

Pretty good, very cute art, and a simple yet interesting core mechanic. Very difficult, I suppose the old 'quarter eater' type of arcade game is what they were going for. There's concept art in there for a bunch of stuff that isn't actually in the game, other characters and enemies, shame they weren't implemented but eh. Buy it on sale though, there's not much to it.

This is a small great game that was released during "dark" time - Steam search algorithm was broken and big sales were coming. That's the only reason why Citrouille didn't get the attention that it deservs - because this game is awesome! This is a very fast puzzle-platformer, where player needs to combine his reaction with his attention. Every stage brings something new to the gameplay, animations are great, everything is moving and the game itself reminds never ending madness. I love it!

Meh game. Was not for me. The gameplay gets boring quick even though it took me around an hour to beat the game. You can attack and kill some enemies whilst others when you attack them they just get stunned. I made the game as easy as possible since i dont like hard games. There is not much to say. Just a meh game that gets boring quick. Gameplay was nothing special and same goes for the story. 35/100

It doesn't even work. Not for me at least. I have a 60% keyboard and this uses arrow keys to control. I have arrow keys I just have to use FN + Whatever key my arrow keys are set to. I can move left and right but up and down doesn't work so can't even play it. Seems like a cheap mobile port anyway.

Citrouille is a challenging puzzle platformer that hearkens back to the arcade days of yore. The style of play derives from classics like Donkey Kong and Pac Man, requiring fast reflexes and continual movement through levels that rapidly escalate in difficulty. Controls and physics are smooth, and the colorful Halloween setting pairs perfectly with the season. With all the usual motifs expected from a classic-styled platformer, Citrouille is a welcome addition to the holidays.

Nice little puzzle game, easy to play and understand but stay challenging. The graphics are very nice and the atmosphere is sweet. The game has some little things which could be improved (like adding an indicator to see how close of the level's end we are, some sounds effects or animations) but none of these things hinder the gameplay nor are bothersome. Overall, the game is nice and if you like platformer-puzzle games (or little games) you should try this game.

lame. graphics are nice but the difficulty is too high, not fun, and the game too unfair we have to start all the way back from the beginning of each level and levels are composed of sub-levels. shortly after the beginning i reached a timed bonus level to get more tries that consists of a map where most of the blocks composing the ground are slowing the character, the few others are just regular tiles, and the goal was to reach walking cages with the hearts in them, that were walking at…

Citrouille: Sweet Witches is a colorful arcade-style platformer developed by Lumen Section and published by Plug In Digital that reimagines classic single-screen gameplay with a distinctive magical twist. At first glance, its vibrant art style and adorable witch protagonists suggest a lighthearted experience, but beneath that charming exterior lies a tightly designed challenge-driven game that rewards careful planning, precise execution, and mastery of unconventional mechanics. It is both a…

Deceptively tricky, it's a combination of classics like Lode Runner and other single screen style puzzle & score attack games but with a cute artstyle and really zany animation set for the moves (reminded me of the Mickey Mouse Metroidvania for the Nintendo Switch). Enemy AI is RUTHLESS but can be outsmarted and cheesed. I really wish the soundtrack and sound effects were not just stock Kevin McLeod stuff but it's still a recommend. Cute and silly fun time. Need more halloween & witchy games so…

this is an arcade style game with no scoring system or endless mode and weirdly unresponsive controls along with music that's ALL royalty free; the music for the cutscenes is literally sneaky snitch aside from the very professional art/animation work this game isn't very good, i hope the artist (Romain Schlienger) gets to work on better games in the future

A fun little title inspired by Rodland and other single screen arcade games, starts easy but becomes fairly difficult and almost frustrating near the end, especially when playing as the "evil" witches. Shame that it is so short and with almost no replayability value. The characters' designs and their animations are all quite adorable and it would be nice to see them again, maybe in a different type of game.

I have a soft spot for 'bob-likes'. Think Parasol Stars, Don Doko Don, all that great stuff. Obviously, the closest comparison is Rod Land. If you're into that game, you don't need to even hesitate here. Give it a try! If you don't know what Rod Land is... uh, you should go play that. And then come back and play this too!

The closest thing you'll get to Rodland, only with it's own style and better.... unless you count the ice level. That level is kinda unfair with snow falling from above and slippery floor, that's just a mean combo.
