I was a bit on edge in the first small parts of the game because everything felt stale and very slow, that however, changed quickly after those parts. Very good game, chill and unique graphics with a good pace of action too. QUICK TIP for anyone that is planning on playing this for the first time - it can really help to pay attention to the conversations, I ran around like a headless chicken a lot trying to figure out what to do, but it was all explained…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think I like the idea of Clid the Snail more than the actual game. The idea of playing a Gears of War style game based on an anthropomorphic snail is fascinating, but in execution the game feels more like a watered down version of an already watered down tactical shooter like Warhammer: Inquisitor Martyr. Clid could've used an inventory or something else to vary the game play. As it stands, it feels more like a mix between one of the aforementioned shooters and an adventure platformer. There…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is ok. It is fun for a couple of hours and has some nice details. I only recommend the game because of its price. (buy it now 40% off or in sale) Full price would bend my thumb down. (unfortunately there is just yes or no) Good parts: o Nice world and environment with funny details o Good music in some parts of the game.... Average parts: o Different weapons for close and long rage combat, but that´s it. (no Upgrades) o ... in some levels the music is rather annyoing o Story…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great, little game with a magnificent world design and awesome unique setting. The story has been fun and relatable so far. Sadly the pakouring is too difficult and no option exist to make it less painful, with instakills and save-points too far in between to detract from the fun that could have been had otherwise... I'm actually deeply saddened this isn't for me. Oh and the English Full Audio isn't English. Who would have expected that anthropomorphic Snails don't speak English in a low-budget…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am a snail with a shotgun blam blam The guns feel weighty and nice, the art style is great and well realised and the music, the music is so moody and fitting. Big surprise how good the music is. My only gripes with this game is that it takes a little too long to get difficult - on the other hand it's almost all killer no filler.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't like this game. It has a lot of problems. First of all - the graphics are so piercingly bright and muddy at the same time that your eyes get fatigued very quickly due to it. And it looks visually outdated by 15 years. In the first part of the game it's more like an annoying puzzle game than a top down shooter. Talking about shooting - it never feels fun. The enemies rarely react to the damage you do to them. And all encounters feel exactly the same (except a few boss encounters)…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Clid The Snail is a twin-stick shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity has been brought to extinction after a catastrophic event, while anthropomorphic creatures have built their own citadels and need to defend themselves from the slug plague. You play as Clid, a mercenary snail followed by a cute firefly called Belu. After a troublesome rescue mission, they are exiled from their village and forced to look for a new home, which they find in Alastor, a group of outcasts with a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The combat in this game is made for game journalists. Almost all enemies just walk at you in a straight line, then stop to make a weak and easily dodgeable melee attack. All while you shoot at them with guns and they die extremely quickly. Bosses are a joke too, judging by the first 2-3. There are no difficulty settings here. Ironically, walking around the map is a lot more difficult due to all the one-shotting lasers—in one part, for example, you're on a moving platform and have to quickly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →combat got boring really fast, no real depth or challenges
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a bit shocked at the basic features that are missing from this game. Can't remap controls at all. Don't like the control scheme? Too bad. Bloom is crazy and can't be turned off or reduced. Googled it thinking there must be a way to edit .ini files or something, but nothing. I can't remember the last time I uninstalled a game this quickly. I have a feeling I'd like the game if I could actually adjust these things, but as it is I really can't recommend it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →REALLY needs a chapter select for those missing achievements, I thought it was going to have one by the end but it didn't, so highly recommend that you explore each level completely before moving on if you want to 100% this game - guess I'll have to come back and grab them. As for the game itself, I loved the cinematics especially that starting one. The art style is nice, has a realism look going for it and the music is something else. The friends you make along the way - I love that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice Setting and Graphics, but the savesystem is crap and annoying because dying clunky ans slow controls isnt cool, when your save is "miles away" and run again to the challenges through enemy hordes
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After completing the game I must change my review from recommended to not recommended. I really hoped the game would become more difficult as it went on, but at no point is the game ever challenging, even when encountering new enemies, they never deviate enough to become challenging. The bosses also arent difficult. What I enjoyed about the game - THE WORLD. I think this was definitely the highlight of the game, exploring a world without humans and populated by highly developed creatures was…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Clid the Snail is one of those rare indie titles that immediately distinguishes itself through concept alone. It drops you into a miniature post-apocalyptic world where the fall of humanity has allowed animals to develop their own societies, alliances, and conflicts. Clid, the unlikely protagonist, is a cantankerous anthropomorphic snail expelled from his home citadel for being too reckless and confrontational. His exile sets the stage for a journey that is equal parts redemption story and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →want to spend hours stumbling around trying to figure out what to do, then go online only to find a tiny number of links to watch OTHER people stumble around for much longer and worse than you? This is your game! Developers also decided to let environmental objects entirely and routinely block your view, so like, WTF?! Targeting is ridiculously imprecise...for a laser. Let that sink in for a minute. The graphics are gorgous., but blurry for some ridiculous reason.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's beautiful. It's just not fun. No zoom in/out function. No map function or quest direction indicator. Can't rebind keys. It's a shame because the art is wonderful and the characters are unique and creative.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended on sale. Clocking in at just over 5 hours for me, this game didn't overstay its welcome. It's a serviceable experience though it feels a little rough at times. There's enough guns and shells available to vary your play style as you choose. The story is minimal and the cast is few yet memorable. Overall, I had a good time playing through considering the play time, price point, and story conclusion. Pros: Selection of guns, shells and upgrades (the Turtle has a SECOND…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really want to like this game. The world seems really interesting and the visual style is cool, but the sheer volume of particle effects, muddy bloom, lack of contrast, and zero options to tweak anything beyond the brightness and quality, and the general oversight for any reasonable UI/UX design makes for a game far lesser than the sum of its parts. Gameplay is fine. A bit clunky. Mostly due to the randomness of if set decoration will or will not have collision on it and the aforementioned…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this title is solid 4.75/10 so just a bit below average. what went well is quite unique semi post apo world with mutant zero vibes, some textures are interesting and well done, idea to put special skills on snails shell which change appearance is also cool. and i wont lie, 2d picture in shop encouraged me to buy it, also trailer is very well made, so good job on you artists. unfortunately i cant recommend this game because of purely graphical path that was chosen - overwhelming bloom effect,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A bit clunky on the combat side of things. A bit tedious on the puzzle side of things. A bit frustrating on the environment/movement side of things. A bit murky on the visual side of things. Not terrible but a bit not great either.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game. I have only just started it, but the world is gorgeous and I am already invested in the story. In environmental puzzles can be challenging at times, I have died to the same laser like 3 times now. The combat so far seems decent, although I am not properly into the game yet. I know a lot of the reviews are saying the combat is too easy, but it's too early for me to comment on that just yet. Just wanted to leave a review to help counter all the negative ones, as this is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Genuinely awesome, worth picking up both for an action game and for narrative - highly recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A drunk snail that exterminates slugs, what I've always wanted to be. The game is very enjoyable and the art, story and music are spectacular.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring as hell So, you're a snail with charge rifle, enemies are flies, bugs, and slugs. The biggest issue is laser traps as puzzles - absolutely annoying.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very cool and on sale! story is insanely slow at the start! You might even say it goes at a snail's pace... But the world and combat is good and the boss fights fun. On sale, WORTH!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They sell you this game as an action packed shooter, but the introduction into this game is slow as a snail. First you need to do a very basic tutorial, which you cannot skip. Then you come into town, move around and try to find the ones you need to talk with in a made-up jibberish annoying language. Then you get outcasted and after 15 Minutes you finally can shoot things. But it isn't action, it is a boring mess with a single shot weapon, underlined with this lullaby of background music. I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really enjoyed this game, it has a very unique feeling to the setting / world. The characters are fun and I liked exploring the world. Combat is a little samey after a bit but its well worth the cost
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is severely slept on. i loved it all the way through. story was great, characters and design looked awesome. i also loved the sounds of the weapons (main gun was my favourite sounding). to me this is a game everyone should experience. i really really enjoyed it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While I got 100% in under 10hrs it was still a fun little game, definitely worth a purchase when atleast 30% off as I think the asking price for time played is a little high. In saying that, I do hope they do a sequel to expand upon it's world and gameplay.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome. wish it was harder . A tear jerker at times.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd like to think of myself as a "seasoned player". Started Steam on 2011, yet I played a ton since I was six years old (no, I'm not six and a half now, thanks for asking). Thus, I've seen a fair share of games and some of them really felt nothing short of a masterpiece. I think Clid The Snail deserves such a tag. A full fledged game with pleasurable graphics, a simple yet effective story, collectibles (careful, you can miss them!), a OST that perfectly matches characters, places, moods,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really nice game, kinda reminds me of Spyo: A New Beginning. Bought for a 90% discount, I'm not sure about paying full price but at 50%+ off, absolutely worth it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Clid the Snail is a short game that offers a wide variety of weapons and shells, allowing experimentation with different playstyles. Its story is minimalistic and simple, yet effective, with moments of humour that add charm, and well-designed boss fights, featuring engaging mechanics and patterns. On the downside, the vignette effect can make it hard to see what’s happening at the edges of the screen, and during hectic moments, it’s sometimes tricky to follow the action right in front of you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very weird game I don't know why I like it but I do. First of all this game is mid about every aspect. Gameplay can be boring sometimes but I didn't mind it. The thing I do mind is killing the same boss 4 times over and over, hives suck. I can't say much about other bosses they are easy and not complex but has a good feeling too. Music can be good but every part has only one song and it becomes tedious over time. Other weapons has no benefit rather than using lazer because lazer is unlimited…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ironically the game feels sluggish and the inability to rebind the controls is a complete deal breaker.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the art direction of this game. The OST might get repetitive, but the gameplay is fun. Definitely recommend!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As much as i want to praise this indie title and encourage more indie studios to be creative even if their games are small in scale, this was a flop. While it has a unique to look it that's really the only positive you will find here. The game is just really boring to play, and that's the worst thing a game can be. Its top down shooting is below average, most of the time enemies won't even react to getting hit, its controls are okay enough until a boss when using a mouse is needed for how…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game with a great story.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Couldn't bring myself to play this game any further. All you do is walk around, kill two enemies every three minutes, while sometimes getting hit by a shot from an offscreen enemy. Nothing happens, you just walk a bunch, then shoot three times, then walk again.

At Toys 'R Us you survey the shiny, shrink-wrapped denizens of the gaming department, perhaps accompanied by a parent, or maybe a chum who, like you, is raring to go for a new experience in our favorite of favorite hobbies: Video Games. There's a jingle of coin in your or your mother or father's pocket and you will not be leaving this store without seeing it spent. You glance at Snake Eater, unsure of what exactly goes on in that game; you pick up a display case promoting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like top down shooters and the art style then you'll probably enjoy the game. The difficulty scales well as the game goes on, and there was enough difference in the weapons that I ended up using all of them by the end. The plot is quite simple, but the characters have enough personality that I always enjoyed the dialogue regardless.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was very cheap when I got it, and I assumed i'll get some fun out of this for this price. I didn't research about this game at all and went in thinking the reviews are generally positive so it must be kinda fun. Nope. This game lacks the charm required to make us care about a snail with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ recharging gun. The start of the game is so confusing and boring and evern when it finally picks up and it starts to get good, you end up with traps and combat situations that require a snail to be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very bad. 30% of players bothered to finish the first level. And it is not even long.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is not supposed to blow your mind. Its something you pick up when you kinda want to shut off your brain and have some missions to do by killing Slugs, moles and w.e. else with futuristic sci fi weapons as a snail. I play a lot of games and this one is relaxing to me. Its not hard but there are things to do and the world is interesting and the slugs spray blood when you hit them hard with one of your guns. Nice touch!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is decent , story is ok, graphics are good , the controls and some game mechanics feel old but you can get used to it, however I do want to point out that combat is somewhat lacking impact and it can feel clumsy sometimes. Overall the game is quite simple and to be honest I would give a "mixed" review but since I cant , I recommend it but on discount.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is absolute slop. I only played it cause it's in my library and i wanted an easy 100%.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I quite enjoy this game, i'm not quite eloquent enough to say much about it other than top to bottom, the visuals, the music, the characters ect were all quite good. I actually bought this game before on a separate account as i would play it with my brother. I never did see the ending so i got it again, and was reminded why I played with my bro. I'll never see the end because there isn't an option to change controls. I my self have lost most of my right arm, meaning i can't use the right…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing experience. Truly, only thing I would like is more of it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Story Clid, a snail with an attitude, has been banished by his community for being reckless and bringing war to his people. His Banishment brings him to cooperate with a makeshift group of individuals who embrace him and offer him a chance to do good. Gameplay It is a top-down shooter with some puzzles here and there, but mainly an action-oriented game. We get to use a varied set of weapons and throwables, enemies are mainly slugs among others that show up depending on the mission.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great top-down shooter that rivals games like The Ascent. A short and sweet experience that delivers the best the genre has to offer. Whether buying it on sale or full price, Clid the Snail deserves every cent it demands. The story dials in on themes of found family and betrayal. If you can handle a little bit of animal-on-animal violence I couldn't recommend this game anymore. 10/10
