negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The good. There is a massive library of problems separated by theme and level of content. I have not seen this done so effectively in any other program, and I have used many. There are levels for every player beginner to master. Modern programs really need this feature. The ability to review and export games are also very welcome features. The bad. In the section introducing players to the game some solutions require making moves that would be losing moves. This happened in some of the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Takes a lot to start in an ROG Ally with SteamOS (more demanding games play flawlessly), and once loaded its impossible to play since controls are a mess, could not create a profile unless attaching a mouse, and to make it worse the cursor was invisible. buttons overlap UI.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is probably the best chess game on steam its not sloppy and it actually teaches u things (even the basics matter) but ill say this the AI is slow when u play chess games but its a 3 dollar game so i cant judge it too much to the developer (PLSS TRY TO FIX THE AI SPEED ITS SO FUN BUT THE THE AI JUST WANTS TO NOT RESPOND FOR THE WHOLE GAME ) 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I mean its chess so you cannot go wrong and chess lovers would enjoy it! But the achievement part makes it actually fun and addictive

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got it for a dollar so well worth it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good chess game for most player skill levels from never have played to high skill level. I can't speak for some expert player but for someone like me that hasn't played in a long time it's great way to relearn the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yep I like it! It is intuitive and easy to use, many options for training, choosing different strengths / ai opponents + chat. Calm atmosphere. Board and pieces are supernice. Would be nice if there also was chess 960, and perhaps my own invention: Royal Pawn Chess with 4 royal-pawns which can move and capture like kings on c2/f2 and c7/f7. PS: the app didnt work well because I couldnt create a new profile and I didnt know where to get a link code from to connect with steam!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As someone who didn’t even know how all the pieces moved, I have to say that I’m really loving this game. I had never played chess before, but I wanted to learn, so I decided to give Chess Kingdom a try. The game explains everything in a very detailed but easy-to-understand way, with clear examples and helpful explanations. You can play against CPUs of different skill levels, and there is even an AI assistant you can talk to while you play. The visuals are really pleasant, and the music…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great chess game for beginners, includes lessons and puzzles to start your journey. Great price! Post-match game analysis is great tool to pinpoint where your moves were sub-optimal while learning what can be improved. I like this game even more with every detail I discover.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought i knew how to play chess but after playing this it turns out my knowledge is actually very limited. This game will teach me all the moves i had never even heard of and hopefully turn me into a chess master or at least someone who actually knows how to play and can give people a good game and defeat beginners like i was before i started playing this. Awesome chess game, really simple to use just fantastic!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's everything you could hope for in a chess game, with frequent updates. You will find some bugs or errors but it's also one person who made the best chess game for learners, those familiar with chess, or masters of the craft, and sells it for $5, cheaper than some competition, so cut them a wee bit o' slack.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played many games on Steam and this is my first review. If you love chess, this is your game. There are puzzles, lessons, critiques, etc. The dev is very responsive and the game evolves. No, not chess, but the way it is presented. I am very impressed. Full disclosure: As a former IT and Finance guy, I have no financial interests in this game, but I am a fan. Well Done.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good stuff - lots of fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Coming along nicely.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been playing this for about a week now, and so far it's quite satisfying. Finally, a version of chess with good AI.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As of May, 2026 Chess Kingdom is a work in progress -- a bit rough around the edges with some features still being improved and implemented. The developer is *VERY* responsive to feedback; changes and fixes often comes within 24 hours. The ability to train by playing tournaments and league seasons against a variety of computer opponents is alone worth the $4.99 price of admission.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game! It keeps you challenged and hooked.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun chess game with good progression. Pick this one up!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its chess, it has chill vibe music and PVP - whats not to love!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really cool chess game, loving the chill music and the skins make the board look insane!! The asynchronous online gameplay is GOLDEN, can finally play with friends without having to schedule when, I just make my move whenever I can and they play whenever they can. Highly recommend!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun Chess game especially if you wanna learn the basics, or even want to hone your skills. I like the progression too. Give it a try
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Went in without expectations but was pleasantly surprised to see the amount of content for the price. It has a lot of features and content to go through, so I can definitely recommend it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super chill chess game Lots of game modes: local PvP, online matches, and asynchronous PVP, perfect to play with friends when you dont find the time to play at the same time The music and visuals are also super chill and even got some fun and and special challenges Runs super smoothly, definitely worth it if you like chess.
