unlabelledView post →So I loved the demo, but the demo had visible differences, loaded well without cooking my cpu, and did not have up to 9 separate mobile layers per level. The same cannot be said of the full game, which regularly clocked out my cpu at 100% (actual gaming tower, not a dinky little laptop or whatever), would have to be restarted in order to register when clicking on very obvious differences, and caused me so many migraines from the moving layers overkill that I actually can't think about this game…

unlabelledView post →Looks and sounds wonderful with an art style that perfectly fits this kind of game, but I find it more frustrating than cozy to play. The differences you have to find become increasingly miniscule as I would expect, but moments where you have to place the cursor in just the right spot to glimpse something hidden behind a foreground object burned me out.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first few levels have proper photo-hunt gameplay and then it quickly devolves into pixel-hunting. It's a lazy design decision that leads to a very frustrating experience.

unlabelledView post →An Underrated Spot The Difference Masterpiece (IMO) I'm typing this after getting all the achievements in the game. I don't think whatever I can say with my own words could perfectly describe just how much fun I had as well as how much I felt when playing this game, but I'll try. To put it simply, a spot the difference video game just became one of my favourite indie games of all time. I came across this game from an indie showcase live stream a few months back. At the time I was just taking…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In this game you're playing as a little robot with a broken lens, who is trying to figure out what happened to him. During his journey you accompany him through a variety of levels with various settings. To move on you have to spot a certain number of differences in each area. Collecting pages from the book also helps with figuring out his story. I really like the detailed drawings and different settings of the areas we visit during the little robot's journey. Gathering the pages and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute art, there is a story but it's not really compelling, some meta-puzzles require the French language, and I quickly ran out of interest in playing without hints. The difficulty ramps up quickly, but also fluctuates in every area. One screen may require finding single line differences in a rock or blade of grass, the next will have a giant frog that's not on the other side. I had a decent hour or two chilling out with the art and vibe, the rest was reloading maps to reset the hint timer and…

unlabelledView post →Note: A wonderful friend gifted me a copy of this game. ^^ Broken Lens is a cozy, relaxing, spot-the-differences game with a few mini-puzzles developed by Team RUN and published by Team RUN and Flying Oak Games. You take on the role of a cute, little robot who is on an alien planet. As this robot is exploring his surroundings, it learns what happened to this planet and its inhabitants. Of course, there is a major story spoiler at the end, but otherwise, that's the basic story synopsis. As…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a "this game is good, BUT" as there are a lot of things that irks me with it and may irks you too ! - You have to click more than once when you notice something, most of time if you're not ultra precise, it will count as being wrong. - A LOT of the errors are tiny, size based or only visible on a certain angle as there are multiple layers on each pictures. - The book language is in French. I understand the impossibility of having the content of the book translated in all language but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Broken Lens is a lovely idea, with wonderful music and a beautiful artstyle. But the amount of layers makes the game painful to play. Several times, objects will be hidden in the background or so small that it becomes a game of pixel hunting. The game is also VERY slow to load, in and out of the menus and levels. It starts off fairly nice, and the further in you get, the more frustrating it becomes. Also important to note that there's a secret aspect to the game that requires finding and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some errors were really bad to find and the controls weren't good at some points. But overall it was an amazing game with deep and sad story. Trust me and play it with all achievements to get the full experience :3

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Broken Lens is a gentle, thoughtfully constructed exploration game that reimagines the familiar “spot the difference” concept as the backbone of a quiet narrative journey. Rather than treating visual comparison as a self-contained puzzle, the game embeds it within a cohesive world and a soft, emotional story about perception, curiosity, and understanding. From the opening moments, it establishes a calm, almost meditative tone, inviting players to slow down and truly look at what is in front of…

unlabelledView post →Simple little spot-the-difference game with very cute art. Works well on the Steam Deck. It's very hard though! I suggest not trying to 100% it, as it's quite tedious to find everything, and not very fun in my opinion. If you only find enough things to move onto the next level, you'll have a good time. For the small price tag, you'll probably get your money's worth even if you don't find everything, since there's quite a lot of levels.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cozy, whimsical, and grounding. This game will make you smile at the color palette choices and adorable art style over the course of several different "spot the difference" puzzles. Unique notes are scattered throughout with pages to unlock lore from a secret language. As an AuDHD gamer, I can see myself going back time and time again to help regulate me. The art style, game sounds/score, and Twitch integration feature all make for a wonderful game that's bound to become an instant classic. I…

unlabelledView post →Spot the differences, but you gotta move your perspective around if you want to find everything in the scene. The game has a somewhat abstract, but tragic story going on in the background, which unfolds as you play. Everything is beautifully drawn, and I found myself quite relaxed as I played. There are a few minor issues with differences not loading in correctly in some levels, but I found that restarting the level always fixed it. It took me a little over 8 hours to complete. I can safely…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Broken Lens is a really unique "find the differences" game with actual story telling and hidden puzzles to discover secrets. Each level has a special item that can be found in addition to the differences, which contributes book pages to slowly reveal the secrets. The music is stunningly relaxing and the art style felt well tailored for the topics explored. Adding a slight touch of eerie and emotions. Things were quite fun in the beginning, but near midway through the game, finding the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game in the Hidden Object Sale. At first I had quiet some fun, but then I started noticing that the Devs like to put differences in spots where they are hard to spot. As an example: In one of the later levels there was a robot covering a missing dot. I used a hint (which makes the game lag by the way) it pointed me towards if but I still had trouble finding this missing screw... because a robot was in front of it and there was no angle in which it could be seen clearly. So…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a relaxing, finely detailed but not overcrowded find-the-differences game, with a gradually building narrative. The music is beautiful.

unlabelledView post →I'm not really one for leaving reviews but after getting to talk a bit with the very nice devs on BlueSky and playing for a bit over an hr with my partner leading to us both obsessed I have to review! Not only is the gameplay fun but the lil lore book is such a cute addition. We spent probably 2/3 of the time trying to also decode the writing before remembering this is a french team so its all probably in french (which neither of us know) 😅 either way tho the drawings help get the story across…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After the first few levels I can't even find the difference with the help of green search dot. I need a microscope to find them which means I'm out. Not relaxing at all this way which is a shame because I really like the art style and the first few levels.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brilliant artwork and unique, fun concept. However, the game is let down by poor optimisation (runs really slow and laggy, even on a decent gaming laptop like mine) and also, some of the differences are invisible, some of the pages you need to find are invisible and when you press the hint button, the circle often doesn't highlight the right area where said difference is. Definitely needs refining and the above problems sorting out before it can get a positive review from me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're looking for a cute little 'spot the difference' game, I've been playing one recently called "Broken Lens" where you're playing a tiny robot exploring various environments but your lens is broken and your program is a Lil wonky. It's really fun and the soundtrack is nice!
