Broken Arrow
When rogue stealth-fighter pilot Vic Deakins deliberately drops off the radar while on maneuvers, the Air Force ends up with two stolen nuclear warheads -- and Deakins's co-pilot, Riley Hale, is the military's only hope for getting them back. Traversing the deserted canyons of Utah, Hale teams with park ranger Terry Carmichael to put Deakins back in his box. From TMDB

unlabelledView post →This film freaked me out me when I accidentally saw it on TV when I was little. God knows why I was watching it, but glad I did. (Big fan of Delmer Daves - Broken Arrow, 3:10 to Yuma etc)
unlabelledView post →Hot take while everyone is still waking up: “Broken Arrow” is a better John Woo film than “Face/Off.”
unlabelledView post →I've said it once, I'll say it again - the movie, "Broken Arrow." Rangers are generally not people who comply with demands they know to be wrong and harmful. And if they do comply, expect malicious compliance. Proud if you all.
unlabelledView post →#NowWatching Broken Arrow (1996 John Woo) Is this a great movie? Probably not, but the combination of Travolta ham, Slater heroics, and John Woo action is pretty irresistible. Also that twangy guitar score is an all timer.
unlabelledView post →I’ve seen John Travolta and Christian Slater in Broken Arrow roughly 12 times but could not tell you anything about what happens in the movie

It's been an INCREDIBLE journey, and I am so so SO thrilled people enjoy our film. See us at the Broken Arrow Film Festival on Friday, Oct 2nd @ 6PM!

This film features four highly entertaining chopper fireballs with the one featured here the pick of the bunch. To quote John Travolta: "I said goddamn, what a rush!"

Day late on @fthismovie.bsky.social's Junesploitation '26, but I did a double feature tonight to make up for it. 1st film is a film I haven't watched in like 25 years - 1996's BROKEN ARROW by John Woo. It's pretty dumb, but has a fun Travolta performance.
unlabelledView post →In case you missed it yesterday, we've teamed up with @cultmovie.cards to celebrate 12 classic helicopter explosions in film. Entry no.3 was for the stone cold exploding helicopter classic BROKEN ARROW (1997).

unlabelledView post →I love that they bring back the Scream 2 Dewey theme for a brief moment, which is always a story I love because it was never meant to be a part of Scream 2. It was supposed to be a temporary placeholder and was actually the main theme to the movie Broken Arrow. #FrightClub #ScreamVI

unlabelledView post →This excerpt from a contemporaneous USAF film dramatizes and explains the causes of this wholly-preventable Broken Arrow: a combination of equipment failure, crew fatigue and exhaustion, poor decision making, and human error. Not mentioned: SAC’s prioritization of nuclear warfighting over safety.
unlabelledView post →So we've been chillin in front of this vista for days thinking it looks like a film set, and turns out it was. (Thanks to local Sedonian George for the heads-up!) 1950 film Broken Arrow Vs now!
unlabelledView post →sometimes i’m just really in the mood for the specific kind of movie he makes and it puts me down a dark road that ends in me rewatching fucking Broken Arrow (i like Broken Arrow tbh)

unlabelledView post →Broken Arrow is a prime example of 90s action movie. Silly story, over-acting, and Travolta as the bad guy. Give it a watch if you don't want to use your brain-meat too much for nearly two hours. Follow me for more 28 year-old #HotTakes

unlabelledView post →BROKEN ARROW apparently holds the record for most exploding helicopters. We need a movie that tops that. Real helicopters and explosions though. No CG.

unlabelledView post →Broken Arrow is another Woo/Travolta mid/late 90s action movie with over the top performances but it plays better with reality than Face Off. It's still silly but here it's mostly the dialogue. If Travolta dialed it way back this movie would probably be more fondly remembered
unlabelledView post →Broken Arrow (1996) dir. John Woo I love this film bc they make the villain Vic Deakins so cool lmao #johntravolta #johnwoo #actionmovies #1990s #filmsky
unlabelledView post →I like the bomb philosophy of action movies. Where if you have a ticking time bomb, you should have it go off. In Broken Arrow, they let a nuke go off IN THE MIDDLE of the movie. Because you really don't want to end this movie with a nuclear explosion, right?
unlabelledView post →It’s my favorite American John Woo film, with BROKEN ARROW a very close second. It’s definitely my favorite VanDamme with TIMECOP coming a close second. The battle in the Mardi Gras float graveyard is my favorite part of the movie.
unlabelledView post →37.) BROKEN ARROW (1996) - I believe this is the first instance of the "chung chung! dun DUN dun dun" action movie trailer music and even if not it's still a great old-school action movie trailer that hits a few of Travolta's best lines in the movie
unlabelledView post →I just finished watching Broken Arrow for the first time in decades. The writer of Speed + the composer of Dune + the director of Hard Boiled is a formula for peak cinema. (Or a really fun action movie). 🕊️🕊️

unlabelledView post →I watched (some of) ‘Broken Arrow’ with some friends in the theater, was commenting on the way out to them that it was stupid but at least it was short, only to be informed that I’d been asleep for about 45 minutes of the middle of the film. No appreciable difference in my understanding of the plot.
