You play as a group of seed friends. Both the visual and sound design are SO delightful.

unlabelledView post →With as much as I loved Chuchel, I'm sad I never picked up Botanicula until now. This game is delightfully absurd. (It was an Epic freebie) It also does the thing I love (that I guess some people hate?) where all the sound FX are just somebody making mouth noises. 😆

It was made using hand-made paper figures and structures. It's so gorgeous!!! The soundtrack by Floex is beautiful too. A truly wonderful experience. It only takes around 1,5 hours to play, yet the creator spent 6 years building and photographing the paper models. I am truly in awe. This is why I almost exclusively play indie games. unlabelledView post →#335: Botanicula An adorable sort-of-successor to the dev's previous puzzle game Machinarium. The character-swapping gimmick is great, there are a lot of good puzzles, and I always love a game that tries to tell a story with zero dialogue.

The PERFECT sound design was my favorite part but it was also creative and funny and unique. Incredible world/character design as you step into this tiny microcosm of plants and bugs. Cannot recommend it enough

Their aesthetic is unique in the game industry, and their games have won multiple IGF awards. Their most recent game is Phonopolis (actually voiced in English) currently available on Steam.
unlabelledView post →guess the closest in vibe i would personally compare it to is Botanicula and Samorost. generally, any Amanita Design games. 2nd Samorost game has been a great influence on me in general, both in style & game design
