51 of 51 · most liked firstThe game recently received a 1.0 update after a few months without an update. Unfortunately the only change I noticed from the last version was they changed the version number. While the game has promise, it still has bugs that have been around for a bit as well features that don't feel fully fleshed out With that being said, it can be fun. However, I can't recommend it to everyone. You'll either find the game to be fine, or feel that it has a wealth of untapped potential that will likely…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incomplete translation right at the beginnig. Chinese letters even though language was set to english. Overall bad translation with sentence structures that don't make sense. Probably just run through a translator with no proof reading at all. Maybe will try again at a later date IF it gets translated by a human. As of version 1.0 -> not recommended!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is nothing but a grind. The translation is really rough. you can cut down 2 trees and you need a new ax. the days are really , really short. you constantly have to sleep and eat. The entire game is a grind. It needs a LOT of work. I really wish I hadn't got it.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well I think the game is drastically over rated at 92/100 and when you see the first basic achievement of basically do the first task is only done by 20% of the player base and most of the reviews are non enlish chinese I question the legitimacy of the score (edit it was when I first looked, its 70% of the players have now... which is probably the ones who got the game after the initial questionable ones) Overall and for meta score I have to give this a NO If you like EA games and this genre…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I did enjoy my initial play, however the game has technical issues.. My negative rating is due to apparently well known bugs, (building buildings) and lack of response from the game developers, and almost no response on the discussion forum.. ) Also checking on discord brought no joy as even linking through steam page provided NO link to the discord for this game. I did get one helpful response telling me the issue i was having was a well know bug however. To be honest It is a nice game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definitely some lil quirks and localization issues but fun little game. Especially at this lower price its a good deal to add to the library for those weekends you just wanna shut off your brain and just play. I am looking forward to see how this Early Access goes!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dragon Quest builders 2 in 2D. with harvest moon elements. Best way to explain it. (with added benefit of not being text heavy) Early access so expect that. Some minor translation errors and things of that nature. Mild jank, but game is smoother than it looks in videos. Feels enjoyable to play. No crashes or issues performance wise. Huge potential, and pretty good as is at release.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GARBAGE Unfinished product labeled as finished. Way too many ingame bug and unpolish gameplay.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The foundation is there - it’s like Dragon Quest Builders 2 and the graphics are super cute. The price isn’t bad if you want to give it a try, but I’d recommend waiting until some basics are fixed because the game seems to be in the Beta Testing phase instead of Early Access. There are just so many things that are really rough. The foundation is there, and I love the concept and art - but this game is in a rough state. Examples: The walking speed is driving me insane, it’s way too slow.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has great potential, but there are some things I’m not seeing other reviewers mention which is bizarre to me. So I figured I’d make a quick “update as I go” review. Things I Like: - Works well on Steam Deck (change controls to gamepad not perfect but good) - Cute artstyle - Fast Travel - Save anywhere - Town building (seems influenced by Dragon Quest Builders with villager room requirements) Things I Don’t Like: - Poor English translation - Missing many controller prompts in dialogue (tells…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked the art style and the chibi like characters , only thing I found goofy was how it sprints maybe it's my opinion but yeah all over the game is quite good the visuals are quite nice and a overall nice sandbox game . So far I liked the game liked those slimes and those running chickens all over the lawn lol. Well all these farming Sims are amazing based on agricultural and mining practices , crafting and gathering resources as well. I have played many other farming simulator games…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think this game has some real potential but i would not recommend it at the moment. its very good though for early access, but there is so much work that needs to be done. The tools break too quickly and you get barley enough materials when your hitting rocks and trees. i have played for about 3 hours and most of the time was re making my tools because they break too quick or i was wandering around aimlessly trying to find things for quests that weren't marked on the map. You don't get much…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, I quite enjoy the experience Border Town offers. It's simple yet effective with some unique takes to the mechanics, such as having NPCs that will eventually do your chores and help manage your village. The freedom to roam around everywhere and not be handheld by needing to do quests in a specific order was refreshing, and not having to save up thousands of coins to buy an animal, knowing that I could farm them in the wild and get a chance for their soul stones to drop, well that was…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Redid my entire review after spending more time (and after initial dev response). Giving positive but i have the same problems others do: -quest tracking and its information is worst i have seen in years. probably a product of the translation work but wow its bad -slow walk speed with no sprint. -extremely limiting energy/stamina systems that get a bit better with time. -Absolutely zero gameplay settings for things like day/night length, or options to lessen the energy/stam requirements for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a nice mix between Stardew Valley, Don't Starve, and Rimworld.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Giving the game a positive review with caveats: Border town is a 'stardew valley' like game mixed with grinding the likes of 'dinkum'. It is a great time waster but to make it really fun it should bring about some serious nerfs to some aspects below 1. Graphics - Pretty cute chibi like characters. Animations are smooth. Nothing more to say.. its just good (sort of like dont starve with clean polished images) 2. Resource Grind - Not too grind heavy but other elements of this game make u feel…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →hope u like forums cause plenty these quests are gunna require u to constantly go to them as A some quests tell u to go collect materials but dotn actualy tell u what materials u need anytime except the one time in npc dialog B there is NO way to tell were u got soem tehse quests if u arnt paying attention as there is nothing liek map markers indicating go here to finish quest . small stuff like this can ruin a game expeience for what seems like should be a nice relaxing time killer otherwise
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not recommended for purchase unless discounted by at least 40% or more The concept is interesting, I always like to play this kind of games but the implementation and execution of this particular one is.. hmm. UI glitches and lack of QoL mechanics for easy gameplay are a few noticeable issues in this game, Id say its still rough around the edges even if its already released as a full game. After it's full release there a no new updates even if its just bug updates for over a year now.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game doesn't seem to have support any more.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just finished the game and unlocked every Steam achievement before writing this review. Honestly, it was a really refreshing experience. I’ve played a lot of farming RPGs and I was starting to get tired of the usual Stardew-style pixel farming formula. This one actually feels different. It mixes creature collection, farming, base automation, and a medieval setting (no guns), which is exactly the kind of RPG I enjoy. What I liked most is the economy and progression balance. You can earn a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Broke the tutorial quest by destroying the statue before I was supposed to. Whoops!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game be even funnier if I could get Austin back from the goblin camp
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am enjoying the game. It is similar yet a bit different from the other similar cozy farming sim. Also I have to figure things out as there aren't any information guides wiki etc. Taking my time to enjoy it. Not as customisable as Echoes of the Plum Grove and can be a bit grindy, though. Still fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute game, but still quite rough around the edges. The basic gameplay cycle is quite fun: rebuild the town by recruiting people, giving them homes and keeping them happy and get other benefits in return. I like the mix between building, farming and exploring the map for new discoveries. The existing combat is very basic and doesn't stress me out too much (still needs some balancing though). There's different types of people and professions to choose your recruits from, that also bring…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is great, although' i haven't got an answer for the flooring tile, which i figured out on my own by using a hoe, then i have to stop in order for me to not make a garden plot. Although it worked like a charm. Thank you for bringing this game out to EA (Early Access) where players as myself, can help with the community on the flooring tiles, although' it's sad to say we won't get anything from it, i was hoping to get the flooring tile into my inventory, i hope this would change,.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is full of grammar errors, to the point that there's bits of it that make absolutely no sense. There's also at least some of the main quest in Chinese. It wasn't running great, either. I can run the newest Monster Hunter on ultra perfectly fine, but this game was stuttering with every movement. The character creation is cute though, I'll give it that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the balance is completely off. weapons degrade far too quickly, food spoiled and the combat is boring. most of the time you are just grinding to maintain, as if the dev is using grinding as content and placeholder....especially true when they simply change early access to ver 1 without any actual meaningful update that address any of the current issue. even the game is really not expensive i still can't recommend it at current state.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the good is good and definetely a lot of potential. however atm each mechanics still lacks what it should do. but rooting for the dev!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still no fix for a hunger bar dropping waaaay too fast. Could be a good game but i cant progress further, im too annoyed by this issue.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game but I think it be even better having an online mode to play with friends build up the town together. Maybe future update? Please consider.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I genuinely love this game. It is a bit grindy in parts, but the animation and style of the game is adorable. It could be better with some more tutorial instructions/quests with some sections - particularly concerning livestock- but for the most part its an awesome game with a lot of potential. Would reccommend for lovers of farming style sims like stardew!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very enjoyable and fun so far. The controls are very simple and the game graphics are adorable and charming.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Necesse + Don't starve together, great game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It feels like an game version of an Isekai anime. You start out in the middle of nowhere w/o a memory, there is an adventurer's guild, farming, building, social stuff. The art style is cute, combat is simple, swing/roll away/swing more, victory. Fun little game so far, something that you can do at your own pace. early drop rates of things make it a little grindy to start out, but i'm looking forward to the town building aspects.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So I have been keeping a discreet eye on this title for a while. I wanted a Stardew sort of game that was less farming sim, and more open world builder, with all the other stuff, and this for the most part is on the money, just that. You make your avatar, you then follow quests and learn how to craft, build homes, workplaces, recruit people, explore and a million other things. It's involved, but not overly simple. It has keyboard and controller support and is a lot of fun. It is not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Border Town presents a charming mixture of open-world exploration, farming, crafting, settlement restoration, and fantasy RPG adventuring, bringing these elements together around the simple but effective goal of restoring a community destroyed by an orc invasion. Developed by GoHoGames and published by 2P Games, it gives players considerable freedom in deciding how they want to approach progression. Rather than pushing constantly toward combat or story objectives, it allows quieter activities…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While I'm leaning towards a thumbs up on this one, I'm a bit torn. I love a lot of aspects of it -- the art, building a town, recruiting people to come there... but it just started to get repetitive. Managing your stamina and food gets a bit old. I think, at some level, it boils down to the day feels like it goes by too quickly, and there's no way to speed that up without being tired. (at least not that I'm aware of) What I mean by that is that you can not "just sleep" to pass the night…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is good and all but the resource gathering is all off, like only getting 3 wood per tree but you need 2 wood to make a coal and 4 coal to make a torch the balance is all off, but that's just me

unlabelledView post →Great little sandbox game with surprising depth. The dialogue from characters is a little humorous with a few strange names for common items but it kind of adds to the charm- can’t wait to see what comes from this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game! I’ve had hours of fun. I think it’s worth it full price. Translation is pretty good. Works great on steam deck. Honestly not that many bugs, a pretty smooth games. Controls are easy and make sense. Things I would like to see with this game - more interaction with villagers. Perhaps more quests. It does have a quest board. The relationship part between villagers is pretty basic. Not a lot of dialogue and can’t really build a relationship. - I did wish there was more information on…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great idea/potential. Already addictive and fun... Need more story/content and I can imagine people playing for hundreds of hours

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the deep crafting in this game. I've already sunk the majority of 2 nights playing this game. And it works great on my potato PC. I love that I can keep all my resources in my warehouse and pull them from anywhere on the map. Love the fast travel as well. Some of the adventure guild bounties will direct me to an area to kill 2 or 3 monsters. but there will always be one less than the requirement and the location doesn't change, so unless I know where they spawn elsewhere on the map, I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A charming little farming/town sim with combat and adventures. You start out as the only person in a dead town and need to rebuild it by building infrastructure and inviting people from the local area to come live in your town. You can give them jobs, such as farming. The chibi art style is particularly appealing. Just wait till you execute a combat roll with one of these little people, it's kinda hilarious. Framerates were great, and everything worked really well controls-wise. I'm…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I find it to be a cute game with it seems allot to do. Controller works very well. Graphics are cute and good sounds
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far this game is really fun, I see minor translation issues, minor pathing issues (The npc's mindlessly walking into walls), but there is nothing game breaking or anything that takes away from the games core. There's a lot to do, even with the quests, you can still just do as you please at your own pace gathering resources. It's a very fun game and it's very easy to mentally get lost plating.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun, chill game not too much pressure,
