Bone Tomahawk
During a shootout in a saloon, Sheriff Hunt injures a suspicious stranger. The doctor's assistant, wife of the local foreman, tends to him in prison. That night, the town is attacked and they both disappear—only the arrow of a cannibal tribe is found. Hunt and a few of his men go in search of the prisoner and the foreman's wife. From TMDB

You go to town & gunslingers bully & demean you, you're lucky if you don't get shot, and medical treatment is a booze wash & amputation!

unlabelledView post →Bone Tomahawk would have been such a better movie if instead of having the antagonists be literal savage inbred troglodytic Indians, horribly racist, the antagonists were immortal, inbred, insane conquistadors who found the fountain of youth there in the desert. But that's just my opinion

unlabelledView post →📽️🩸 Tonight's movie was BONE TOMAHAWK, which I'd never seen. A Western where the land seems not just desolate but malevolent, with tremendous performances by many talented people. It's an interesting and compelling film- and I knew about 'the scene'- but holy hell it goes hard, & it is truly BRUTAL.

A Kurt Russell western. This might be fun." 😱Horrifying, Disturbing, Horrurbing(?!)🤢 "Bone Tomahawk" (2015)

unlabelledView post →The 20 most traumatizing horror movies. >Horror is the movie genre most positioned to take advantage of the fears and desires in the deepest parts of the human psyche. It’s also the genre that has pushed the boundaries of what can and should be seen on the screen, particularly in recent years. Horror films, particularly those released in the 1980s and afterward, have worked very hard to plumb the hearts and minds of viewers, bringing out those things that many people are afraid to face in their…

Craig Zahler/2015) Zahler's awesome horror/western that asks what if Cannibal Holocaust ran headlong into The Searchers. Great film for fans of both westerns and horror. Check it out!

unlabelledView post →FOR SERIOUS. In watching Bone Tomahawk, there were two thoughts: [the thing hasn't happened yet] 1) Everyone keeps saying there's something really horrible in the movie, but I've made it so far into the film that I have no idea what they mean. Did I miss it? [the thing happens] 2) OH GOD OH NO

THE 13TH WARRIOR takes Crichton's EATERS OF THE DEAD, his great faux de-mythologizing of Beowulf, and adapts it squarely as an action-adventure swashbuckler, but it could've easily been made as a horror movie. One could argue that BONE TOMAHAWK is pretty darn close to what EATERS might've been.

unlabelledView post →Bone Tomahawk has some of the most realistic and disturbing torture and violence I've ever seen on film. I went into it expecting a hard boiled western but its a straight up horror movie. Excellent film though, very underrated.
unlabelledView post →I like Bone Tomahawk and was willing to give the guy a pass; Then I saw the Puppet Master movie he wrote, a goofy series usually about dolls killing Nazis and he made the puppets Nazis themselves and it was just one of the most mean spirited movies I'd ever seen.

unlabelledView post →And rounding out my horror/western top 3 is none other than Bone Tomahawk. Honestly, this is 90% an amazing western film, and the last 10% contains some wildly brutal stuff, not for the faint of heart! But gosh, the journey getting there with Russell, Wilson, Fox, and Jenkins is supremely good

unlabelledView post →This is sort of like if they decided to make BONE TOMAHAWK in the 90s in Newfoundland. It's a solid "B movie" through and through. The creature designs aren't bad. It never really gets excessive, except somehow the ending narration gets SUPER skeezy. Just to add a perverted little cherry on top.
