But EVERYTHING ELSE about this game is pretty bad. The voice acting is cringe level 9000 The storline is bland and unoriginal. The gameplay is too repetetive and boring. The camera control is super bad and confusing its an active detriment to your gameplay. And for 25 dollars the game just isn't worth all those negatives just cuz it looks real pretty. I'd…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The worst camera system I've ever had to endure.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The voice acting might be terrible but I can live with that the camera though... my god... Can I please see? Please?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love shooters like this, but the combination of weird camera, wonky jumping and falling off pipes all the time and time trials made me just rage quit after a few tries. Don't mind if it's hard, but not because of clunky controls. I hope that gets fixed, I may revisit it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wait a bit on this one. It looks great, and combat is pretty nice but the camera is just awful. The dialogue isn't great either, but if I was like 12, and was thrown into a mech and informed to survive, I'd probably be just as, if not more annoying. Camera isn't forgivable, however.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Where to start with this one. Drakkar Dev is a small studio of around 5-ish people based in Italy. Blackwind is their 8th completed game. The majority of their catalogue is mobile games so it's nice to see them get more ambitious and branch out onto the PC market. If you take a look at some of their previous work you can easily see the improvements they've made as a studio. -This game has some very bad English voice acting. So bad that they should never have added them and just had text boxes…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was excited to get my hands on this game after seeing the trailer. I'm all for hack and slashers and dont mind the lower budget feeling at all, yet the sound effects in this game are a major turn off. I feel bad too cause its an indie studio, but man the sound design is just poor, especially when executing enemies. When you impale an enemy with its own limb you expect a gory splash, but instead the sound feedback is closer to squishing yogurt out of a cup. Seeing how executions are a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I needed to give this game a positive review. I don't understand the "hate". I really enjoyed playing this game. The graphics are good, the different robot skins are nice. I like the fights with the special moves. I like the "wall running" I really had no problem with the camera. This is a video with my gameplay. Decide for yourself: https://youtu.be/8HgOFueO_Xs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Voice acting (and this is where I quit): I can't. I literally can't. The voice acting is absolute cringe. Give me an option to mute the damn kid. It ruins everything. "WoOoAaAhH, tHaT's sO cOoL!!!!!!11!1". I have no idea how different people playtest this game and are like "Yep. This kid commenting LITERALLY EVERYTHING is fine." Everything else is pretty good, mech sounds mechy, monsters sound like monsters, music is pretty good. Gameplay: Upgrading system is a mess in itself. You have a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just finished it, the camera issues are fixed and the game is fun. I had a lot of fun. Thank you for making it. I woudl suggest a bit of variations in the finishing kills animations otherwise it was a lot of fun thanks.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game !! Forget the negative reviews, the fact that the game on day one has some bugs (already solved) is normal. It happens to AAA games with nasty bugs and they charge you triple for it. I'm sure in the course that the developers will do everything to fix them, as they did with the latest update. So rest assured and play it which is an excellent game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have not played much yet but from what I have seen from playing the game myself &, watching people play it on twitch. The game does have its flaws however. Voice acting is on par with the original RESIDENT EVIL on playstation 1. Yes it is that bad, and its not so bad its funny it is so bad that you wish you could turn off the voicees. The game plays nice and is responsive which is one of the most important things of a game. I'd say wait for the game to go on sale and buy it, or buy it when it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game, it's so straightforward and brutal, simply put it's like the God of War of mecha robots (vs aliens). I love the idea, the design, the execution, the models look great, I love mostly everything about this game. And yes, I know the camera view is not perfect, but it's not so off-putting as people are saying. I have played games with much worse cameras. This for me is a great find, a hidden gem!! I would never find it if I wouldn't browse the GOG store. That's right, I found it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an update since my previous review. The love and effort put into this game by the devs is alive and thriving, and they are listening to the community to rectify bugs and glitches and concerns at initial release. This is a fun top down shooter with some interesting new little (but likeable) tweaks and gameplay. Thank you for listening Devs!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is not a perfect masterpiece but I'm not sure it deserves the bad reviews that I have seen. You might label it as a bit of a twinstick shooter and that is partially correct. While in your mech (and using the drone) there are some aspects of twinstick shooting in it, but there is also a bit of (admittedly wonky) platforming to do in spots. The melee combat is simple enough, using light and heavy attacks to allow for simple combo strings and you can buy upgrades to add finishers for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good game, top notch graphics for an indie studio. The camera had some problems but the new update has fixed most of them! So far so good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Blackwind is your typical twin-stick action shooter with a distinct sci-fi flair and classic arcade design where you move around with one stick, aim with the other and fire with the trigger. You be playing as young Jim Hawkins, trapped inside his father’s prototype battle armor complete with a palm cannon modeled right from Tony Stark’s Iron Man suit along with lock-on missiles and a detachable drone that can be remotely controlled to explore areas otherwise inaccessible. The game is held…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game's not bad. It's just that bad things simply outweight good things. + Okay-ish graphics. Simple game to turn of the brain and just shoot/hit some enemies. 90% of achievements can be completed without ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with guides. Also, the difficulty doesn't affect achievements so you can safely play on easy. - A little bit pricey for it's content. Should be around 15-20$. Reticle works very badly with camera meaning that you always shoot slightly off the place you're aiming. Very inconvenient.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't talk too much about Vyrande Blackwind because my players are on this site, but he's the Demon Lord and one of the big bads of my Fabula Ultima game. He's responsible for destroying one of my player's home city and stealing the light from their giant tree of life. Why? An ongoing mystery...

unlabelledView post →Blackwind is nothing complicated, it achieves its simple goals fairly well: for the most part. There are aspects that lack fine tuning, some jank, but overall a solid project. Difficult to add specific detail but would play more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not great, not terrible. I got up to the first boss about 3-4 levels in an unlocked a handful of abilities. Picked it up on release because giant mech suits are awesome. But this game is trying to be DOOM without being DOOM. It feels like the devs pulled a lot of inspiration from the newer DOOMs. A mix of platforming, keyfinding, a few somewhat hidden secrets, and their take on glory kills. That is, executing enemies for health special ability boosts. But they failed to take what made…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent game. Not sure what the mixed reviews are about. Twin stick shooter has it all. Twin stick aiming? Check Dash move? Check Fast melee and heavy melee with combos? Check Jump with double jump? Check. Upgrades for everything? Check. Challenging combat? Check. Decent Graphics and lighting? Check. Runs good on modest machine? Check. NO STAMINA SYSTEM TO MANAGE AND BOG YOU DOWN JUST TO KILL THE FUN? Check. Now I am not that far yet, but I do have a couple of complaints. One, the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Graphics are very good. Both models and landscapes are well done. Your mech can be upgraded with various skills and customized with different skins. The story is well written and involves the player in the plot of the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A quick little adventure, but not worth the full price.
