Jools Watsham was inspired by Bionic Commando but said "You really can't make a 2D game these days without people going 'No, I don't want to buy that,' but you can put it into a 3D environment and they'll go OK it looks cool"!

This wacky take on a racing game has a grappling hook mechanic inspired by Bionic Commando...for the Japanese release, much of the game's artwork and music was changed to fit the market (notice Q-Tee here)!

unlabelledView post →even a number of their 80's hits were super "western" in their theming, like Ghost 'n' Goblins (cartoony Halloween monster game), Bionic Commando (beloved pastime of Kill Hitler) and Final Fight (The Warriors, Streets of Fire, but in arcades) and they *still* got othered constantly.

This was used to write games such as Bubble Bobble, Bionic Commando & Ghouls 'n Ghosts. A Tatung Einstein dev machine is used to edit/assemble/deploy the game image to the target computer.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know if it ever got reassessed but I will always stick up for the 2009 Bionic Commando as a game with some substantial issues but a lot of it was forgivable because the swinging mechanics felt really really good
unlabelledView post →You know what would have been great? To have the developers put on the store page in big obvious letters that this does not work with windows 10, even with the legacy drivers. They knowingly allow people to download their product knowing full fell that it will not work with windows 10. And then to go through the trouble to downloading the old legacy drivers, putting their new pc to extra worry and trouble because it might not be compatible and it might screw up their computer in the future for…

unlabelledView post →Cool little game that I spent countless hours playing in the early 2010's. Contrary to what most recent reviews say, the game actually works in Windows 11 and it even runs flawlessly at 144 FPS, but it's kind of a hassle to make it run from a fresh install. I used the most recent DXVK (version 2.5.1 at the time of writing, 32bit, d3d9) along with the PhysX Legacy fix (copying the PhysX files into the game folder) and even downloaded a modified EXE from PCGamingWiki that restricted the game…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It doesn't work anymore. Sure, other players have tweaked their systems, downloaded legacy drivers, run it in compatibility modes - if that's what you're into in order to get a game to work, then great, but that's not my bag.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →November - 2024. This game is no longer playable on Windows 11. I've followed all the "fix it" guides to try and have this game work and the best I can get is that it loads up - but it just sits there on a black screen. Really lame that I'm not able to play this ever again.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, similar to the NES one but on much larger scale. Having said that: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME The game's executables are outdated and WILL NOT RUN on modern version of Windows without having to jump through hoops, which include downgrading the video drivers, setting CPU affinity, etc. Shame that Steam does nothing to fix this. Anyone purchasing this game would expect it to run without problems. Then there is talk about Capcom adding DRM to old games like this.... such great game,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Capcom has been sneaking in Enigma DRM on their older games with an update purely to block modding. This DRM causes performance issues, crashes and has broken Steam Deck support on some games. Enigma has been known to trigger antivirus programs since it’s also malware. Do not support this anti consumer company, they want to destroy modding to sell you skins and microtransactions! Capcom won’t fix their old games but they’ll gladly add malware DRM on decade old games for petty reasons.…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is 2D Dark Souls, initial levels its very hard to play until you get used to it but after 2-3 levels you will get used to it and then its much better, easier and enjoyable to play. Overall the game gives retro gaming on tv feels with touch of latest gen graphics, you will enjoy playing it. also you will feel like dark souls again in final level but after 6-7 attempts it will become easy.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to finish this game here on Steam. Having played the demo, years ago on PS3. However, I can not get this game to start on Windows 11 even after trying some fixes. This game is currently f*cked on a modern PC.

unlabelledView post →Buyer Beware Does not run on modern hardware without a patch. It needs a modified EXE to run on less cores and a legacy PhysX driver and it still may not run
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This works fine on the Steam Deck if you switch to Proton Hotfix. I've been having a blast with it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DOES. NOT. WORK. For Windows 10, the only way to get this thing working is apparently to install a legacy version of Nvidia PhysX. The catch? The website no longer actually distributes this. So simply, the game cannot be run on Win10. At all. I love this game, and always have, but now? Just avoid it. Game does NOT work. Won't even boot to main menu. Do not support Capcom for this.
