Thats´'s not the case. You get unanimated screens with subtitles/text. The characters are NOT lifting you into a "Creed" oder "Rocky" universe, and the fighters only have one unique superpunch and just look different, Thats it. And there is nothing "iconic" here. I asked for a refund.

CPU will literally perfect counter then power move at perfect time every time (usually while your in the middle of a combo). No growth or investment to be made.

I've been loving it, not least because of the ridiculous alt-timeline stories some of its characters get, such as stopping a nuclear war and fighting a reanimated Apollo Creed.

The ‘story’ mode involves reading on screen text like a visual novel, whilst listening to random grunts. The actual boxing gameplay is bad. Dull button mashing, over the top, arcadey rubbish. I won my first match without trying and thought “what just happened?” There’s no real development or incentive to keep playing. Rocky fans avoid. Boxing fans should await ESBC.

The Arcade mode has a story and I haven't gone through all of those yet. Combos are a little confusing at first. A lot of people say it isn't compatible with controllers (even my Steam library page says that), but it works just fine with my MSI controller. It's a decent time killer if nothing else.
