Some of my fav action tense drama films: Unforgiven, the Firm, Crimson Tide, Get Shorty, Enemy of the State, Runaway Jury, The Chamber, Behind Enemy Lines, Heist
unlabelledView post →Behind Enemy Lines. I dunno why, but that movie has so many audio jumpscares and I HATE jumpscares. Long moments of silence and then BANG! It gave me a panic attack in the theater so I left. And I'm usually EXTREMELY tolerant of films that I might not like. Usually I just laugh at them.
unlabelledView post →One of the movie tropes of “military men are badass” is the “we’re going to get our buds to safety!” (Black Hawk Down,- Behind Enemy Lines, Bat-21., etc). Where the hell is “Ice Station Zero,” where a team of rangers breaks their Afghan interpreter out of ICE custody??

unlabelledView post →These images made me think of whatever country the movie “Behind Enemy Lines” with Owen Wilson takes place in (I think Bosnia or Serbia)
unlabelledView post →If you're starting a Gene Hackman bingefest today you shouldn't overlook the 2001 Bosnian War movie Behind Enemy Lines. It got a 37% Rotten Tomatoes score and has a lot of issues re: jingoism and shitty stereotypes, but I think it's a fucking blast.
unlabelledView post →Oh sweet, they can remake Behind Enemy Lines!
unlabelledView post →Listening to @unclearpod.bsky.social and something that occurred to me is that while technically it came out in 2001 Behind Enemy Lines seems like a kind of a quintessential 90s movie about that brief period where it seemed like the US might become a semi-benevolent hegemon.

unlabelledView post →So some clown is going to make another "Behind Enemy Lines" movie about someone who quite probably was complacent in bombing innocent school children and other civilians in a war that nobody wanted. Yay.
unlabelledView post →Mr Mamdani why haven’t you spoken out in condemnation of Lieutenant Chris Burnett’s decision to exceed his orders and provoke the Serbs into shooting him down during the events of the film BEHIND ENEMY LINES

unlabelledView post →Apple TV is pushing a movie called Mayday which sounds an awful like Owen Wilson Pickett’s Behind Enemy Lines but is movies Russia. It’s definitely something I may watch soon.
unlabelledView post →Tbh Behind Enemy Lines & Flight of the Phoenix are perfectly average. His others… I didn’t realize he’d directed a film after DIE HARD 5 in 2013.

Should we just wait for the book or movie!? Blackhawk Down, Lone Survivor, BAT 21, Behind Enemy Lines, 13 hours Benghazi, the list is much longer
unlabelledView post →The downed pilot in Iran story is straight from the movie Behind Enemy Lines. Fun fact: Scott O’Grady, the soldier the movie is based on, is a conspiracy nut. He’s probably advising Hegseth and Trump on the story. Trump tried to nominate him for a position in 2020. Photo is from the movie.
unlabelledView post →The U.S. is reporting whatever fits their heroic movie script: "Behind Enemy Lines."
unlabelledView post →Trump and Hegseth narrative of what happened in Iran is the scenario of the movie "Behind Enemy Lines." He's literally stealing this storyline and claiming it as his own work. You get kicked out of college for this.
unlabelledView post →Surprised that they aren’t showing clips of the Owen Wilson movie “Behind Enemy Lines.”
unlabelledView post →Fox told the truth this time. Also, there was a 2001 movie, Behind Enemy Lines, that told the true story of one of our aviators getting rescued from Serbia.
unlabelledView post →This entire debacle reminds me of the film “Behind Enemy Lines” with Owen Wilson and Gene Hackman. I pray for the same outcome. Bless every one of those soldiers.

unlabelledView post →Behind Enemy Lines is one of those movies that doesn't try to be anything more than what it is, a straightforward action thriller with high-stakes chases and explosions. The plot is predictable, filled with familiar tropes and moments that feel like they were borrowed from other war films and stitched together. It doesn’t have much depth or originality, but it still manages to be entertaining. The directing leans heavily on fast cuts and a hyperactive camera style, which can feel excessive at…

With two weeks left to go, he is flying a reconnaissance mission over Bosnia when he is shot down, his pilot murdered by rogue troops and he is forced to flee for his life - pursued by a ruthless sniper - whilst his task force colleagues try to find and rescue him.
