60 of 188 · most liked firstBattle group 2 is an easy, arcade naval shooter game. You commanding 1 ore more naval ship. The goal is to finish the map while destroying as many enemies as many you can. Its a pretty easy game, not too hard. There are only 8 unlockable ships, all with special powers and abilities, however its possible to upgrade them so you can enhance your gameplay and solve the missions the way you want. As the game isnt hard at all there is never only one proper ship setup for finishing missions. If you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I didn't like missile command way back when. Guess I still don't like it now. I got this in a humble bundle and decided to give it a shot in my quest to clean out my unplayed games. It's a pretty average game, it's solid in its own right. No glitches or any glaring issues in the short time I played, which was probably around 45 minutes (I idled for its 7 card drops). It's just... really boring. You click places to kill slow moving planes and destroy missiles, having to slightly lead them…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gameplay 5/10 Graphics 6/10 Sound&Music 5/10 +Achievements +Collectible cards -Not enough content -Short Result 5.5/10 Boring The game is a shooting range for targets and no more, you will not even be allowed to control the ships, only their weapons. The main problem of the game, this is not enough of everything, enemies, weapons, the same type of combat system, which consists in a set of slowdowns and further spam, so the main task of the player is to feed money, buy more slowdowns and then…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR Simplistic arcade action game where you are in command 2 ships fighting against a new terror threatening the world. Easy to play and fun in short burst but won't hold your attention in a long while so play it sparingly. What is Battlegroup 2? A simple game where you are in command of 2 ships firing missiles towards everything that moves towards you as the auto steer ships move along without your control. Quite fun in little sessions but boring if played too much. +Fun arcadey…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Strategy tag is misleading, this is a one-button rail shooter. Your units sail automatically from the left to the right and you're just in command of the guns. It's not the worst game, but there are various issues that harm the enjoyment. Firstly at the time of writing this I have just under 8 hours play time: That equates to 2 hours of making progress and 6 hours of grinding levels over and over and over in order to earn currency (oil drums). The only tactics here are in the form of which…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pro: Often in bundles - on sale OK strategy - OK not great Kinda Arcady - is that a word? Steam cards & achieves Simple controls Low system spec Con: When not on sale I'm not sure $8.79 CDN is worth it. To me it's more of a $5 or less play it for an afternoon game. Kinda boring after a while. It's more of a play for an hour or two and come back to it type of game than a play for 36 hours straight kind of game. No demo To me it's too much of a railroad you through this game Overall: 5/10 +1…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a no brainer. Exactly the kind of game we need sometimes just to relax for a couple of hours. And for that purpose Battle Group 2 is perfect. We command two ships. One shoots missiles while the other does the support i.e. provides us with abilities in order to eliminate the oncoming projectiles / missiles. There is a cool down for every missile we shoot and each ability we use - this requires some tactics on our end especially towards the end game. We have some upgrades for the ships…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →VERDICT: Battle Group 2 can best be described as a naval-themed strategy clicker, on-rails. Take one or two ships, survive thirty-one naval patrols by destroying enemy planes, ships and missiles while keeping your kill streak alive. Gain rewards to upgrade and unlock better ships. Its simple premise, fast-paced gameplay and short quick-fire sessions are sure to take you back to playing Missile Command back in the day. The challenge is pretty easy, though gameplay is quite addictive.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is like those oldshool flash games with upgrades system. It's pretty short but I like sound effects, seriously put on the headphones it's almost like listening to fireworks. If you want to take a breather between big games and play something more casual and simple - this might be good for you. Sadly you can select only two ships at the time, what a bummer. I had fun playing this game with one hand while writing a review with second.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Basically Missile command with a nautical theme and less polish.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very disappointed. the game save function is apparently really buggy on build 3.03 because I lost all my ships and upgrades when I quit the game. Plus I am forced to start at the level I left off at. I am grateful I paid 79 cents for this because it was fun for the 30 minutes I played but I am livid that I cannot progress. I tried a reinstall but that didn't help :(
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Similar gameplay style to Missile Command, good concept.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →General You command battleships, small arensal to ac carriers. You can only have 1 battleship and a secondary ship by choice. When on the battlefield against advanced pirates, the gameplay can be slow or will knock your socks off with speed! Though, you have tactical advantages: i.e. EMP, instant reload of cooldowns and the ability to instantly destroy all incoming missiles. Upgrading your ships can have a great affect on the battlefield. Decrease reload times, increase health, and more. My…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sometimes, I just want something straight forward, something without much commitment. This game pretty much fulfills all that. It is essentially prioritisation and estimation of distances. Fun and fast.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game. Quick to get into, very nice FHD visuals and a good format. Recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has a nice classic feel to the gameplay and even the "story" though not so deep may gain some light affection from older audiences. Through the game you play the role of the weapons controller for the main ship as it sets sail through various seas and channels as an onslaught of enemies try to take you down. The enemy leader as many have pointed out will bring memories of Cobra Commander as your captain exchanges words with him. All in all it kept me entertained and if by watching the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Battle Group 2 is a very simple ripoff of the old Missile Defense game where you shoot incoming threats. Instead of a base on the ground, you're on a battleship, but the principle is exactly the same. There's a few save bugs with the game which can cause people to lose their progress, which is a mark against the game. Otherwise, it's just missle defense with some window dressing on it, and you can play games like that for free in Flash or in a web browser.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playing it once every 6 month for some quick mouse shooter feelings, to discover there as been auto updates changing the scoring of the game and deleting your advancement. For the third time now, i won't be bullied again! It's crap!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All Ik about the game is its called battle group and it has cheap cards, so ya, I would problem recommend it but since u need like 15 cards just to make the badge it's not worth it, and almsot every card is like 3 cents so u can't even sell them, next time Mar a game with like 5 cards or 6 cards to make the badge
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Battle Group 2 is pretty much like missile command but even more addictive. the funny part is: Even this game has bullet drop + velocity for projectiles and COD still doesn't have it.... yet you ask me why i call it children on duty???? jokes aside, Battle Group 2 is extremly fun and addictive if you are an 1990er gamer you would surely love it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →well...what can i say? if you can get it really cheap then give it a try as long as you are aware that this is a port of a mobile game. a poorly optimized one that is. the game sometimes loves to slow down in the middle of the action even on a quad core with gtx 770. don't think you can enjoy this one on your granny's old typewriter. aim and fire your guns and use powerups if you feel the need. that's all there is. literally. oh and using oil you earned from clicking enemies to death to buy…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Now this game is fun fun fun. And way to short!!!!!!! We need a Battle Group 3 pronto. If you like arcade style shooters with a heaping of missile command type control you will love this game!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Surprisingly entertaining. Excellent concept and excellent implementation. Congrats and thanks.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best from my game discoveries in 2021 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring mobile game. A book is more fun that this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game for like under a dollard in the winter sale so I'm not going to whine about it... But the point of the Steam reviews is to let people know if I feel strongly for or against a game and this is a definite case of the later. After 4 hours played (two hours roughly to finish the game from A to Z) all I have to do in this game is blow stuff up for the sake of blowing stuff up for the achievements. Meanwhile, the story is appalling and this is clearly a port of a mobile game to PC.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pleasantly, Easily, Relaxing this is how I can briefly describe this game. This game has 31 missions that can be repeated to collect more oil (in-game currency) for the purchase of new better equipment. It's a title that doesn't require either great computer or super player skills. If You are looking for something to play for a moment of break from work then this is the game for You...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For 79 cent this game is not that bad. Very casual game just point and click.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a fun little arcade game in the style of missile defense. it's the type of game you'd pick up and play for a stage or two while you have time to kill.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →only played like an hour and it is complete... but cost like pennies so....
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There needs to be more polished well built simple games like this one. Battle Group 2 is really fun easy arcade shooter where you get to command awesome ships and blow ♥♥♥♥ up without having to learn 100+ keybinds and mechanics. The combat revolves around learning patters. Each enemy has a unique set of patters that with some observation can be learned to properly deal with them so even though the game play is simple with only one mouse button required to play, it's small but tricky at times…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You fight bad guys to get more oil
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended for game farming
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice relaxing game but save file broken after new update? No save button. Please make proper save option. Good casual game. = )
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Saving is broken.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Battle Group 2 is a very interesting style of game, I can't say I've played anything like it before. I mean yeah sure I played the board Battleship which I really do believe the Bane Games was hoping to mimic and bring an amazing family board game to life on your computer screen.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First of all I got this on sale for 79 cents. I don't think I'd pay $8 for it. It is fun though. I probably will play it again but it feels like one of those games to play when you're really bored. If you played stuff like Missle Command when you were a kid and loved it you'll like this. You control ships and click where enemies are heading to send out your missles and catch them. The descriptions for the ships you can purchase using oil, the game's currency, is really vague so you'll probably…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →gameplay is very good but I would like to see more content, more ships, more upgrades and more levels
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good & decent game Gameplay 10/10 Music 10/10 Controls 10/10 Yes! I recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Battle Group 2 is not a complicated game. You are in command of a gunship that finds itself being attacked by a mysterious organization called “The Talon” which is very reminiscent of Cobra from GI Joe. After a short tutorial, they threaten an airliner and you are forced to give them your ship. Out for revenge, you start level one with a much smaller ship, and start hunting down the Talon. Some humorous dialogue aside there really isn’t much to the game’s plot, and with good reason.. Battle…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great little game if you get it on sale. Unfortunately do not expect any bugs being fixed. This game was abandoned for a year now. Achivements don't work on Mac and Linux.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good Game, If you like ftl you'll enjoy this
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has been sitting in my library for a long time. Never touched, collecting dust like many of the other titles that I have amassed over the years. I'm not sure what made me doqnload this game today of all days, but I will say that it was worth the couple minutes if time that it took me to download it. Though I have yet to finish the campaign, this game takes me back to the days when I would run up to the arcade machine at your local laundry mat and play till my little heart contented,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is actually really good. Great idea made simplistic. One big quick event arcade action game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome fun game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very short game I find though quite fun and addictive. GI Joe anyone? The battleship is a must and in some ways overpowered. Once I had that ship, game was a breeze, got this game in a bundle and well worth that price. It's a fun short game and I guess the price reflects that.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game might seem simple and a bit boring at first but it is actually a pretty fun game. I recommend this especially if you can get it on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was so 50% on this for a under $10 game. But I'm reviewing the game as it is in 2025, because it's being sold in 2025. I think it has a fun basic concept. But needs more work before being released non early access. I put some notes of mine below. But other then that I thought it was fun for a few hours. Could be worth more I think if the game had these or other fixes. What I'd like to see: __Multiple Montior support. __Issues when adding EMP/Hypertime. Says I need more Oil but I have what…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so, here is my review for what it's worth. i give it a thumbs up, but do not recommend it. at least not highly. let's say out of a score of 100, it gets a 60. barely passing grade or whatever equivalent in your country. i had 'fun' playing it all the way to the final level. but after beating it, there was no more enjoyment to be had. i, like many of you wanted to get all the achievements so i had to replay levels over and over again to unlock them. sounds fun right? kill 1000 this, fire 10000…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A mobile port naval version of missile defence. Repeating levels for points and stars isn't really worth it, so it grows old fairly quickly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't bother, this is total crap.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →hard work pay off game <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a quite unique game. You can controll two warship, one with direct attack and a support. They are stationary on screen but you need target enemies and guessing their movement as your missiles and bullets take time to to hit on clicked point. You can upgrade your ships between missions and buy better ones. This game is very fun, highly recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As everyone else says, this is missile command on a boat. It's very easy to jump into the action, and it's fun. It also reminds me of 1942/1943 which is not a bad thing. Graphics and gameplay are simple, but don't feel outdated. Buy if you are interested in a simple clicker action game with short rounds. Don't buy if you are looking for a deep story or an immersive RPG. When the advisor lady says "nice shot!" and "training paid off!" you will feel like a total badass.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tags: Casual - Twitch - Shooter Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Game often loses progress of players. The delay between firing and landing a missile takes a while to get used to. Repetitive gameplay loop. It is basically a missile command clone built around defending a battleship. It is functionnal but not very entertaining. You just spam click everywhere and havce to handle the delays and the reloading limitations. It adds a bit of challenge but also…
