38 of 38 · most liked firstThis is a tough one only because some design decisions will determine acceptance. BAFL is a purely top down one screen power-up circuit racer in the spirit of Super Sprint . Controls at first can be awkward. Like Water Machado's Warp Zone Drifter synchronizing your controller to your perspective (brain) may take a bit. The obvious intent in BAFL is, without upgrades, to make the car difficult to control. Frequently hitting walls and repairing whether mid-track or pit-stop is a strategic…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely game, would definitely recommend it if you like Super Offroad or RC Pro Am for the NES
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BAFL: Brakes Are For Losers: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have been a car fanatic for many years. In fact, I follow the Formula 1 calendar every single year. Not in person but via Pay TV. In any case, I heard about a racing arcade game where you hardly ever use the brakes, and I thought to myself, what the BAFL is this about?! And then, the light . . . shining above my head with a big inscription – Brakes Are For Losers! BAFL is retro arcade racing / local multiplayer game where you take on…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible game. Can't even pick my car out of the field, half the time. Controls are garbage; regular turns send you in to the wall, while fast turns slam you into the wall. Wound up going the wrong way just because I'd hit a wall and bounce off the wrong direction. You're constantly taking damage, which you can repair in the pit...which slow you down to the point you get lapped, assuming your fellow drivers don't just slam you out of your pit spot. Pickups are...I can't tell, because they…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is good, the only thing that needs immediate attention are the tracks. They need to be a little wider, most of the time I dont want to go to the pit stop. But thats where I go, if the tracks where wider. I would have a chance to steer away. The other problem is the handling of cars, the handling needs fixing. Cant control the cars very well, the controls are too sensitive. The sound, graphics are great, but what I said above hinders it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It just feels messy and too much going on. if you like powerup race games then this is for you. race arcade meets my needs better for just a simple overhead racing game with lots of players locally. i was also hoping for 8 player controller support, but its 4 controllers that you share each side of it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent with friends, although the AI is quite good too, even if they do wall bounce a bit too much on the difficult tracks. Cars handle well, having no brakes means you really have to think about your apexes and the graphics, weapons (which you can turn on or off) and time trial modes are good. If I have a reservation, its that there are not enough tracks. Too many are oval like and that limits the challenge. Double the tracks and this will be a must buy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really Fast and Furious game to play with friends. And don't bother .... ! There're no brakes .... !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After playing just shy of an hour, I would surely recommend this game. It's fun, easy to play and can keep you going for hours if you focus on either achieves or records on challanges.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BAFL - Brakes Are For Losers is a 2D top down arcade style "racing" game where you take little racers and race around in challenges or vs the AI. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BAFL is everything I ever could have asked for in a serious driving simulator. NO BRAKES. You get an achievement for trying to buy brakes. Its all gas, all the time. Going into a corner too fast? Better hope you can bleed off some speed smashing into the wall or an opponent. The couch multiplayer potential of this game is WILD. Championships are like 20 minutes long and in the meantime you can play with 8 people. The driving is solid for a top-down meme game. The graphics are a little…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic game, great fun - Not had this much fun since micro machines on the SNES looking forward to sinking some more time into this!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game that is well worth the price. If your looking for something deep your in the wrong place but if your looking for something to pick up and play for 10 minutes this is it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No option to save champoinship progress mid-term, no warning given if you return to main menu, all championship progress lost.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent game for 1-8 Local Couch PVP Players! Absolutely worth $10. Game is very responsive and polished. Can't hit ESC (Start on Xbox controller) and will instantly allow return to Main Menu. <GAME OPTIONS> Challenges: 1 Player Only Races: Chose 2, 4, 6, or 8 players with or w/o AI Bots Championship: Chose 2, 4, 6, or 8 players with or w/o AI Bots Custom Game: Chose 2, 4, 6, or 8 players with or w/o AI Bots Quick Race: Chose 2, 4, 6, or 8 players with or w/o AI Bots <1 Player Controls>…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well. . . It's like. . . it's kind of. . . it's a sort of. . . Anyways. All you need to know is: It's "for Losers"!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A racing game that feels a lot like Super Sprint from the NES. I didn't find too much of an offering here, and while the concept of no brakes was enjoyable at first it is difficult to see myself playing for an extended amount of time. It's a very casual racer, for anyone interested.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I paid £1.79 for the game and I give it a hesitant recommendation if it's on sale. The game works fine, it looks ok (except when sometimes a zoom-in reveals low res art) , no bugs or frame rate jitters, it does pretty much what you expect. The biggest problem really is lack of content. Each race in a championship lasts a minute and there are ten races. The only thing to do past that is to play the same championship on a harder level, multi-player and the time challenges. Of the ten tracks that…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great simplistic game, well worth the price tag, needs to be online really to interest more gamers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →haha a nice simple crazy game.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is super fun to play with friends (great party game) and it really exceeded my expectations! It works with up to 8 players locally which is just awesome. Easy to learn and simple mechanics yet challenging anyhow and nice looks. Even with 8 players, it's still easy to tell where your car is.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Needs and deserves more players! One thing: The price might be a bit too high for the product. Otherwise a great game. Easy to pickup and quite hard to master.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Try the demo; Personal, the championship/custom/quick race i did not care much. Good effert but should have been multiplayer online as well. but nice shared screenplay. The challenges are nice to give a try. Its either time attack or perfect drive. Bugs: Pitstop is skippable, and only usefull it the longer/harder tracks. sound settings not saved in demo. Ghost mode not working in the demo. requests: A general highscore list would be nice (average position in all challenges) and of couse a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent party game, really easy and fast. Pick up and play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BAFL - Brakes Are For Losers is a fast, chaotic, and deliberately unorthodox arcade racer developed by Oudidon and published by Dear Villagers that embraces simplicity as both a design philosophy and a source of constant tension. At its core, the game revolves around a single bold idea: cars have no brakes. This one decision fundamentally reshapes every race, turning even the smallest corner into a gamble and every straightaway into a test of nerve. Rather than aiming for realism or simulation,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is fun. You won't play it for very long time as there's not lot of content, but it does great job as being entertaining with friends. I recommand it if discounted.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →NOT RECOMMENDED. The technical setup is incomplete. There is no way to specify screen resolution or detail levels and the 'windowed' mode is just the fullscreen res with a window wrapped around it. The game runs choppy as hell. When it comes to the game play, some tracks are impossible to run without hitting the walls constantly because the turning radius is a way big. Turning is a weird guessing game of when to turn and how much and probably gets boring once you figure out due to the lacking…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Funny game, good to play alone or with friends for some hours and then visit this game once again when you are bored, what else can I say? Look the price, you should buy it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looking for a simplistic party game? Try this. So much fun.... Oh, but just gimme a brake
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →O sistema base que consiste em "sempre a andar" causa muitos bugs principalmente quando chocas com pontas de paredes e o carro fica preso. Tens de fazer quase 360º para sair
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun to play in 4 on the couch on tv (connected to PC) with gamepads, though it becomes boring extremely quickly.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Which makes accelerators for Winners. I'm a winner, so I like this game. And could the real Astrolynx please stand up?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's close to being a good game, but the mechanic is too broken for this to be fun. Your turn radius is too wide for many of the tracks, so you spend a lot of time grinding against the walls and getting damaged. It doesn't feel like you are in control of the car much of the time. Friends found it too frustrating and wanted to change games quickly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this will be awesome if it can be made online multiplayer. any chance of this?
