You get what you pay for, Lee smashing people and the rest of the movie being something of an afterthought, but let's see.

While the story is enjoyable and the characters range from being decent to, there, it's the action where the film shines with all of its gory beauty.
unlabelledView post →BADLAND HUNTERS is the sequel to the Korean Oscar entry CONCRETE UTOPIA. A nonsensical post apocalyptic scifi action thriller it's an awful film made kind of watchable by Don Lee & the action filled last 40 minutes. Its time you will never get back www.unseenfilms.net/2024/02/badl...

unlabelledView post →Badland Hunters is pretty fun, and my favorite bit is Ma Dong-seok goes through almost the entire movie blatantly wearing a S.T.A.R.S. patch. I choose to believe this is canon. This man has fought mutants before.

unlabelledView post →5. Badland Hunters: anytime Ma Dong-seok has a new action movie, it’s always with checking it out! This one has great action, fun comedy, and it has everything grindhouse film fans love about absurd action films.
unlabelledView post →Badland Hunters was a very mid film but any action film gets a point in its favour for having a scene with Ma Dong-Seok giggling to himself for repurposing a spent rifle as a walking stick for going up stairs
unlabelledView post →This evening's film: Badland Hunters! You wouldn't think a movie could possibly live up to a Big Punch Pictures production ident, but this is another "Ma Dong-seok hitting fools so hard, their dads get dizzy" movie, so I assure you, it can. He punches a guy over an intercom! Watch it on Netflix.

The film benefits greatly from the expertise of its veteran stunt coordinator turned director, known for his work on Train to Busan. Commendable world-building, visionary concepts, and…

Characterisations are solid if predictable and the acting is not to be sniffed at. However, the story is unremarkable, with a climax that feels, well, anti climatic. In summary, an okay but hardly exceptional watch, that would have benefited from more creativity on the storytelling front.
neutral · AI labelView post →The film features some hard-hitting and explosive action sequences that will rightfully cater to fans of the genre. The battle in the basement of the apartment building, where we see Nam-san use a shotgun to blast his way through some of the doctor’s ‘enhanced’ individuals, is a total exhilarating blast. Ma Dong-seok has been a powerhouse for most of his career post Train to Busan, but he sends people flying whenever he throws his fist or pulls the trigger. Badland Hunters also has to break a…
