Bathing suits, it includes bathing suits! Atelier Totori is a second game in Arland series. It's one of the oldest ones on Steam and also one of the most annoying ones. I enjoyed the story of this game, especially the true ending. As usual you play as a young alchemist from a small village. Totori's mother was an adventurer but she disappeared years ago and Totori wanted to become and adventurer just like her mom since then. So she hooks up with her friend Gino and start working her way onto…

This is a very low quality and low effort port. A) The user interface is a train wreck. You frequently have lists of 100s of items to wade through and unlike the previous game (Rorona), you cannot filter items while doing synthesis. So if you want a particular trait that you only have on 1-2 items out of a 100+ you scroll the list SLOWLY and waste time. While playing on a keyboard, all the button prompts still show the console's gamepad buttons. You can remap "RB" -> "Keyboard E" in an…

The most annoying thing in the older games is that one small thing can mess up your whole playthrough. Events in this one are the real pain and especially limitation to leveling...you really need to know what you're doing. But aside from that - story is lovely, whole progression is done well here. True ending is unexpected, but appreciated, leaves you with happy feeling )) I'd recommend playing if you're trying to catch up with Arland series like myself. But not as first in Atelier series, by…

My favourite Atelier title, though ironically the most strict on time which I actually don't prefer in atelier. Maybe deep down it's what gets me addicted as the time based games seem to be the ones that hook me until they finish. These aren't complex titles but alot of management is required and I'll say this. Atelier Totori while Totori is the most mild hearted and innocent of the 3 in the Arland titles as a character. She's the most ambitious character of the 3 and her title is the most…

This has to be the roughest Atelier available on Steam. It's easy to notice the lack of QoL compared to what Rorona had, because that one was remade and this one wasn't. It may feel like you are playing an older game if you are going in order. It is not possible to sort through traits. This makes the process of crafting equipment and items a bit more annoying, but I'd say that it is still at least easier to get the best traits on stuff than it was in Rorona? That's how it felt in my…

This was my first Atelier game on the PS Vita so it was great to revisit Totori's journey after all these years. It was hard for me back then but now after playing many other Atelier games, it was a lot of fun and not too hard. The OSTs in this one are by far my favorite due to nostalgia. Totori is so cute and funny!!

Please don’t buy this game. It might be one of the worst PC ports I’ve ever played. I’ve played it on 2 windows PCs and a Steam Deck and it works when it feels like it and that’s the best you’re going to get. The game itself is fantastic. The port is almost criminal and I can’t believe stuff like this can be sold on Steam. The game crashes constantly. About 5-6 hours of my 30 ish hours have been debugging the dang thing. Movies play on Steam Deck sometimes, without audio sometimes, or not at…

I absolutely love this game and it is my favorite Atelier game and will always be my favorite Atelier game. If anyone from Gust is reading this, PLEASE GO BACK TO GAMES WITH A FOCUS ON SYNTHESIS LIKE THIS ONE. I do genuinely wish Gust pulls something like they did with the Arland trilogy and goes back to their roots with synthesis-focused games (preferably with a time limit in my opinion but I know that will scare many people) Objectively this is likely not the best Atelier game in any…

If you haven't played Rorona DX, play it first. If you have played Rorona DX, be warned that you'll feel like playing an older game, which it apparently is as Rorona DX is a remake. This is much less well structured than Rorona IMO, you don't have a clear goal as that for the first two thirds of the game, and keep completing minor quests. This does hurt the story aspect a bit in my opinion, which is an important element in Atelier games. The alchemy system is more or less the same from the…

Atelier Totori is a great improvement overall over Rorona, but the time system is much harder. Alchemy and gameplay mechanics stays about the same as Rorona. The story is quite interesting this time, it's still a slice of life story but in Totori there's more "Adventure" rather than just doing cute stuff. The graphics are greatly improved when compared to Rorona. It runs very smooth at 1440p60 and looks like they have implemented some AA in this entry (it looks better than Rorona)... and they…

One of the weaker entries in the long running Atelier series of JRPGs. This is the 2nd in the Arland series! If you've played through the Rorona plus/DX version then some of the mechanics in this game will feel a bit dated. From what I saw the only difference in the DX version compared to the original 2011 release is the inclusion of the 3 DLC characters who unlock fairly late in the story. There's a few different music tracks to select and some extra outfits for Totori but the gameplay is…

I actually think this game is for the most part great. The gameplay is fun, although the game has some mechanical issues, some which were solved in Rorona DX (I understand this came before). I also see how the calendar system can get in your way, but it is manageable. What ruins this game for me is that due to it having a priority system for the endings and no clearly defined flags, it can easily stir you into something entirely undesired and I dare say sometimes undeserved. I did 2…

This game probably has the most obnoxious True Ending requirement across all Atelier entries. I also feel that thematically, the normal ending is a lot more enjoyable because it's the culmination of Totori's overall growth, both as an alchemist and adventurer. I would certainly feel a lot better if the true ending expressed Totori's adventurer spirit because it would be a nice segue to her travelling to Arls Kingdom in Atelier Meruru. My personal favourite in terms of character ending is…

This game was alright, but sort of a letdown when compared to Rorona. I dislike the handling of the passage of time, and the way the game nudges you in the best direction to progress the story was awful. I fast travelled often and as a result, had to redo a year of the game because I didn't enter what was essentially an in-between area to progress the plot. The new characters were overall sort of a letdown. There's one or two characters here and there that I liked, but I wasn't a big fan of…

Overall Rating: 7/10 Gameplay: 6.5/10 • Atelier Totori is the second game of the Arland series. It brings a story that does well in character development. It also brings back characters from Atelier Rorona and brings a comedic relief to its story. • Multiple quality of life aspects during alchemy found in Atelier Rorona are missing in Atelier Totori. Alchemy level during synthesis and component names are lacking. Additionally, the organization of components is subpar compared to Atelier…

Second part of the Arland Series. You play as Totori, Rorona's Apprentice, who wants to go on an adventure to find her mother. However, during these times, an Adventurer License is required to adventure around. Early on, you will obtain a License that lasts up to 3 years, requiring you to raise your rank multiple times in order to reach the threshold to receive a 2 year extension. Compared to Atelier Rorona, this game feels a lot less straight forward. Its world is much larger and opened,…

Both this game and Meruru contain a bug that, under certain circumstances, using a bomb item may crash your game. As creating and using offensive items such as bombs kind of forms the entire backbone of the game, I highly recommend passing on the bundle until a patch is released that fix these issues.

1000 inventory space is pain. The gameplay experience is by far the worst in the Arland trilogy. Both Rorona and Meruru have 2000 inventory spaces and much better quality of life features (you can equip the adventure tools instead of having to carry it in your basket, you unlock the fast travel feature much earlier, you get to choose the endings if you reach the requirements for multiple endings) I would only recommend the game if the game is on discount. you have tried other game in the Arland…

Where do I start.... This game is REALLY old and has NO QOL at all for anything, so it is really really rough to play and hard without any guides, tons of missable events that can ruin a playthrough. My only REAL issue with this game however is that the port is really bad and if you don't have a good CPU, you are cooked, unless you use a community fix, which I have no idea if it exist for this game or not. I started Atelier franchise from Rorona and then went straight to Totori, day after finishing Rorona. It's drastically different from Rorona and not in a good way. Considering this released before Atelier Ryza, I'm not surprised that KB/M support isn't present in this port, but there's a few glaring issues, those being the lack of anti-aliasing, low shadow resolution, and the fact that microstutters every second is still present even in these older releases because it's querying for connected controllers if there aren't any. The lack of a borderless fullscreen option (Thus making it required to use Special K to fix that alongside the microstuttering…

A great game. I played it before but didn't finish it. Now with the Steam release, I finally completed all the endings. First of all, Atelier Totori is one of the difficult title in the series. The game has a lax objective, making it easy to get lost and hence wasting time on unimportant things. Wanted to play it, but as far as i can tell, the game is not super well optimized for pc specifically, resulting in pauses and stuttering when opening and navigating menus, which is unpleasant in a game that is like 30% menus. Bought the game on switch, and it doesn't have the same pause & stutter issue. Might be a linux moment with me trying to play it on steam deck, but doesn't seem to be the case as far as i can tell.

Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland - Around a 6.5. Funny enough it's easily one of the best cast of characters. I especially like Totori's young and go getter attitude. I also enjoyed Mel, Gino, and even little witch looking girl I can't recall her name. So cast wise this is one of the best in the series. However, this gameplay loop got really boring second half. My very first Atelier and because modernization wise, this was the most primitive of the updated Atelier of the PS3 Ateliers to play and later I would come to know that Atelier Totori would be considered the hardest of the Arland bunch just because of achieving true ending is hard stacked on tight scheduling fit for salary man job and it's unforgiving primitive features even with the DX update. Totori is the dark horse of the series. It pioneered a lot of ambitious task/subplot juggling, Totori's personal story, side character arcs, all on top of the existing core gameplay loops. The result is a very busy minded game, almost antithetical to the Atelier games themselves. the "adventurer" of Arland would be prove to be more accurate than anyone could rightfully guess! My introduction to the Atelier series back when it released on the PS3. Atelier Torori follows a young girl on her journey to find her missing mother. The gameplay is relatively simple turn based combat but with a rather complex alchemy (crafting) system. (Mana Khemia 2 had more QoL features than this game did and it came two game before Totori?) Since I did play Firis already, this somehow felt like a unpolished proto type of this game. (Like the wanting to travel the world, marking maps and even the building a ship part) In the end, I did like Firis, but not really... this one. The story and characters are okay, I also like Totori, but the game mechanics make this game really a pain to play, especially after playing Rorona DX. So, as annoyed as I was with the lack of QoL, this is basically the oldest Atelier game on steam from what I understand, as its prequel got updated. So, I can't really fault the game for that, as the newer games improve from this. Also, this game has crashed on me once, pretty sure this has been the only Atelier game to do that to me, otherwise no issues. There are a lot of things I dislike, but overall, I still enjoyed playing this game, though you will likely need a guide or a wiki at…

I really don't want to do this because poor Totori deserves better...but I really can't recommend this one. The short version is this is more just a straight port with questionable design choices that really hindered my enjoyment of the game. Honestly I could write a huge essay long review of my thoughts but let's be honest...no one would read it. So here's a summarized version instead: THE GOOD: +The world of Arland is just as interesting and fun to explore as it was in Rorona. +Characters…

Like: Likable new characters (for the most part) Returning characters from Rorona Nice music Fun gameplay loop (exploring and gathering, alchemy)Dislike: Very very strict on time management making an otherwise chill feeling game not so chill Too many requirements to unlock true ending Easy to miss flags, easy to lock yourself out of true ending Can't pick between multiple endings you may have unlocked when game ends like in Rorona Melvia is a predatory pedophile What the heck did they do to…

Atelier's charm however lies in the alchemy system. This system is about gathering materials in around…

+ Compared to Rorona DX: Ability to travel on the overworld map; Points system to reward you synthing, adventuring etc. + Liked the True Ending ~ Gathering materials outdoors now cost time. Not sure how I should feel about that. - If you are coming from Rorona DX then this it is in some smaller aspects a downgrade like showing the probability of a successful synthesis etc. - Lots of planning + grinding needed to get the True Ending (not sure if it is possible without a guide)
