negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've now finished the game post patch and the loading times have indeed improved. I'll be leaving my original review below as a record of this release's history, but let's go over my overall thoughts on Ryza DX. The original Atelier Ryza was my personal entry point to the series, and the DX release gave me a perfect excuse to go back and replay the game to see how my thoughts have evolved now that I've played all the other modern entries. I would say that it's...fine? The game definitely felt…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would only recommend buying this game when its on sale, do not buy this at full price. It is basically the same as the original version except some updates (should have been with the base game) and a bit more content with some new characters. The new updates include autosave, some crash fixes (in the original version, some location that can crash and was never fixed, combine with no autosave, meaning you can lose a lot of progress), and graphic upgrades. That is about it. Like what other…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was confused to see the low ratings since I played first on Steam deck. Played it on PC and I understood. The loading times for this are atrocious even with a Gen 5 NVME SSD. There needs to be a patch for this.

unlabelledView post →Added on Dec 22nd: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, they fixed the controller bug! We're so BACK. On serious note: if you are a newbie go play it, amazing trilogy. Old "review": If your game stutters every 3 seconds, connect any controller to PC. The same bug was in the original game version. Are you serious, devs? Thumbs up because I wanted a reason to play the trilogy again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good to know that even after all these years, KT still hasn't even figured out how to get antialiasing to work. The game suffers from horrible shimmering even when on 4K supersampling. On a game this new, it's extremely noticeable. What are we doing?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The triology of Ryza was finished 3 years ago with a lukewarm last game compared to the second installation. I myself as a fan of the series, feel kind of let down of the release of the DX - Versions, even scammed in some way because AR3 left a very very sour taste in my mouth ( ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF THE KLAUDIA QUEST WHERE YOU CAN LITERALLY SOFT-LOCK YOURSELF OUT OF THE ACHIEVEMENT EVEN MORE SO WHEN YOU HAVE THE DLC - UPGRADE TREE !!!!!! ). The loading screens alone take an eternity and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In my downtime I've been playing Atelier Ryza, since it went down in price. It's my 1st Atelier game, so I have no frame of reference, but I've been pleasantly surprised! The battles have interesting sub-mechanics & the alchemy is not nearly as confusing as it could've been. It's actually addictive
unlabelledView post →one of my favorite part of any Atelier Ryza game is when you have to hunt a monster for a quest. It's always funny every time. #boltart #atelierseries #atelierryza
unlabelledView post →The amount of love I have for Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy is almost hard to express but it was a right game for the right time and now its an all time favourite! I love Ryza SO much. I'm sure I'll talk more about it someday.

unlabelledView post →If you have long load times, don't use the in game FPS limiter or Vsync. Also TellowKrinkle/atelier-sync-fix seems to improve CPU/GPU utilization. Once you adjust these two things, the game runs perfectly fine. These fixes shouldn't be necessary, but there's no way in hell this game deserves to be so negatively rated when every recent release runs worse, and doesn't even have workarounds to resolve their issues.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A few days later then expected I can start my Finished Games thread!! 🙂↕️ First off would be Atelier Ryza 2. Such a comfortable and warm game. Also, a very underrated series. But since I really don't wanna burn myself out before the new game comes, Ryza 3 has to wait a bit longer.
unlabelledView post →Looking for something relaxing decided to go for Atelier Ryza 3, a game in which you live on an island where almost nothing ever happens. Most importantly, you can befriend a dolphin.
unlabelledView post →i would be very willing to give this game an eight out of ten if it weren't for the fact that they somehow lost all eight points i could have given them for the various technical issues on a remastered game that dropped SIX YEARS ago. the worst one currently being performance drops and severe stuttering on a secondly basis when you launch the game without a controller connected. or the one where the camera just stays zoomed in and you have to close the game and reopen it to fix. (quick update:…

unlabelledView post →I guess next game on my list is Atelier Ryza. I had dropped this game in the past because it used to really glitch on Nvidia drivers but a week or so ago the Ryza series got a massive patch that added a bunch of QoL features and fixed the driver issues. Time for my alchemy journey.

Second, it looks IDENTICAL, plays the same, still has all the exact same problems, the antialiasing is horrible, etc. If this was reasonably priced I wouldn't be so annoyed. I 100%'d the original and when I went on to the store page it was pulled all so they could re-release for more money. It's actually astounding how a game manages to be so unbelievably mediocre. Apparently this is the 21st installment…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finished Atelier Ryza Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout yesterday. It was my first Atelier game and I definitely will check out more of the Atelier series. I really liked this cozy adventure and the alchemy system was super fun. The final boss was no joke tho

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really enjoying the very happy atmosphere of the early game (have not finished yet). The fighting style being ATB and not Turn Based is very refreshing after playing Atelier Sophie 1 and 2, which makes it feel like a completely seperate experience. Game is running amazing for me and have no issues with long loading screens as other reviews state. Important note to that tho: Am running the game on Linux with Proton 9.0-4 so that could be the reason for not having long loading screens.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have been very interested in this series and wanted to play through from the start. It might be just due to it being a fresh release but this port has had consistent performance issues. Open a door load screen. Talk to any NPC load screen. Walk a quarter of the way down the map Longer Load Screen. Im also running off a current gen NVME. Gonna be skipping straight to the second and hoping it doesn't have the some type of issues. Just a real shame since the game play loop itself seem very…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →why did it take me this long to start Atelier Ryza 2. I'm having fun such a nice chill game ^^
unlabelledView post →already beat the original trilogy twice on both consoles and PC. the story and soundtrack is really chill, and the crafting system is surprisingly complex and fun lmao if you have the original tho, i would suggest waiting for a deep sale before getting this. otherwise, 100 CAD for all 3 games with all DLC and season pass contents included is a steal

unlabelledView post →It's technically a better version of the same game, but it's hard to tell that while playing it. It really doesn't feel any different, and the first game was already *great*. They've fixed the performance problems that other reviews mention, so that's no longer a reason to downvote the game. If you already have the original and didn't think it was great, this probably isn't for you. But if you did, and you wanted to play it again, this would be the way to do it. As long as you can part…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →made a quick spreadsheet because I was convinced that Atelier Ryza 3 has the most party members of any atelier game and the answer is "yes, but only if you're not counting DLC characters" still. ridiculous

unlabelledView post →Alright, I just dabbled with the Alchemy system for this game and can already say that I enjoyed it a lot. Simple but effective at creating items with the stats you want. I am feeling the same joy that I had while playing Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout. 😊
unlabelledView post →Atelier Ryza 3 is doing a good job at providing new players with plenty of materials right out the gate to try synthesis early on 👏🏼 Which also means I have already found an alchemical loop and I will be breaking the game shortly because I can 🤗

unlabelledView post →So, this is Atelier Ryza. I can't put down the 3 games of this series. It's a great crafting game, and my most proper introduction into the series (I waffled a bit on Sophie). It's a great crafting game/ series with loads of JRPG storylines and niceities, yada yada, okay, to the controversy. This is a definitive edition, essentially. It has loads of DLC for a decently steep price, just not comparatively steep when considering Gust's overpricing of cosmetic goods. At $40 bucks apiece, these…

unlabelledView post →Genuinely don't understand the negative reviews. I played this game seamlessly between my PC and Steam Deck without ever thinking about performance. If performance was an issue in the past it's not fair to leave a permanent negative score on the game now that it is fixed. This was my first Atelier game. I obtained 100% of achievements on Very Hard difficulty. There is 2 harder tiers but they only made the fights longer not necessarily harder. The game didn't hook me at first, kind of a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Octopath Traveler can't think of a game i hated Atelier Ryza
unlabelledView post →My tl;dr overall score: 8/10 if you haven't played it before, 6/10 if you have (maybe 5/10 if you've played the sequels). Game's okay, but honestly I'm recommending it because it's pretty much "required reading" for the sequels which are phenomenal. This is obviously the weakest of the three in terms of mechanics and such, and going back to play this one again I could definitely feel how much QoL was "missing", particularly when it came to alchemy. Didn't help that I was skipping all the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout 🌼✨ thread Basically just commentary I have of the game as I play this cozy and cutesy fantasy alchemy jrpg game! ☺️ ✨ I heard only good things about the first game so yeah I'm excited. unlabelledView post →No widescreen support. Even though I'm running at 120fps, the frame pacing seems off as it stutters all over the place.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The loading issues were the only major issues; thankfully it's been fixed today. What's left is really up to preference. All dlc is included however, the lighting changed to be brighter. While I personally prefer the new lighting, some disagree and it's alright. The game itself is utterly charming, with really intricate systems to keep you occupied and a just serious enough story to keep the player engaged. Easily a 9/10; if you don't have the original, the dx version is a no brainer however,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally beat that infernal post game DLC Secret Solitary Island from Atelier Ryza 1. Still think this DLC is unnecessarily super hard. 😑 Next is the super hard post game DLC for Atelier Ryza 2!
unlabelledView post →I decided on a game to play Atelier Ryza 2 I played the first one back 6 years ago and watched the anime. The fact that 2 has been sat in my backlog for a while needs to be changed
unlabelledView post →This is not really my normal type of game, but I got onto a JRPG kick recently and this came up on sale and I thought... well why not? This is my first Atelier game. I can tell you... I play a lot of games. A lot. I rarely get very far into most of them. The fact that I'm over 10 hours into this says a lot. I've been having fun with it. I rotate it with a couple other JRPG's I'm in the middle of playing, and that works out well. Admittedly I kind of came for the fan service... but the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm getting stutters about every 3-4 seconds, with no frame drop. This happens at all frame and graphical settings. 30fps just makes them happen in about 7 seconds instead of 3-4, and low graphics makes it happen in smaller bursts every 0.5 seconds. I can't actually visibly endure this at any setting because of this. I don't even have loading screen delays, I just have this. And it's frustrating.
