The entertainment industry damn near runs on scary movies, which are cheap to produce and able to take artistic risks that bigger budget genre films — the ones that have to sell tickets to everybody just to break in — are too timid to even consider. You…

neutral · AI labelView post →I mean the misters in Arcadian were straight up inspired by Goofy-the-Disney-Character and they were some of the most upsetting movie monsters in years
positive · AI labelView post →Arcadian Atlas - Console Announcement Trailer. Coming November 30
neutral · AI labelView post →Watched Arcadian w/ Nic Cage today and while the movie is absolutely mid the monsters are legitimately unnerving and I like that. They're not like super intimidating or horrific they're just so uncomfortable to look at especially when they do a specifically weird fuckin movement with their jaws.

neutral · AI labelView post →I'm watching the Nicholas Cage movie, Arcadian, which is about a troubled father figure in a post-Apocalyptic world. Or I'm watching Mandy, or The Adjustment Bureau, or Prisoners of the Ghostland. Honestly, I'm no longer sure.
neutral · AI labelView post →📽️ Is the new Shyamalan movie going to be ridiculous? OBVIOUSLY. Does finding usable gas in Arcadian make sense? NO. But, like, it also had a giant Barker-ish wheel made of ********!! The point of these movies is not to be logical or accurate. That's for Fincher, Nolan, etc. Some are just silly FUN
positive · AI labelView post →Arcadian is a subdued sci-fi movie - at least for Nic Cage. Me on this film plus Cage's three wildest dystopian productions

neutral · AI labelView post →Hello there. I'm Jack, I write weird horror, sometimes with my tongue firmly in my cheek, often drawn from Irish folklore. My current favourite movie villains/antagonists are Colonel Ives from "Ravenous" and the creatures from "Arcadian."
neutral · AI labelView post →This is from the Nic Cage movie Arcadian. If you haven't seen that, well, it's weird. If these images all the goofy to you, especially the last one, there's a reason for that. The director was literally inspired by Disney's Goofy to make this monster. I can barely describe what it is.
neutral · AI labelView post →ARCADIAN (2024, Hulu, #film) A crisp action horror about a father and his two sons trying to survive the post-apocalypse in a rural farmhouse. It's all solid work, Nicholas Cage included, but the real draw is the unearthly and @nataliehall.bsky.social -looking creatures. Fresh design! Big creepy!
positive · AI labelView post →Any of ya'll seen Arcadian (2024), the wholly unremarkable post-apocalyptic sci-fi monster film starring Nicolas Cage? It's pretty mediocre and would be entirely forgettable were it not for one simple thing: the monsters are fucking terrifying. Like god damn, they're scary as fuck! Good shit!
neutral · AI labelView post →OK but Nicholas Cage as "Paul" in the survivalist movie, Arcadian...when he abruptly stabs the table in front of his two bickering adolescent sons, and says sternly "ARE WE NOT MEN?" I felt that.

neutral · AI labelView post →Its taken a while and there have been a few films that have taken a while to trickle down to the UK and then only been on for a few days (The Arcadian, I missed it) or never even appear at all (Dream Scenario).
neutral · AI labelView post →Watched ARCADIAN tonight I liked it a lot. It's reminiscent of A Quiet Place, but more grounded It stars Nick Cage at his most normal The ending felt a bit rushed, and there's one scene in the big finale that seemed silly/unnecessary, but I think I actually liked the film more than AQP YMMV
positive · AI labelView post →as a self proclaimed apocalyptic setting connoisseur and enjoyer, people are wayyyyy to harsh on Arcadian. it's a great little story, like a dark fairy tale. and i've never seen a movie with such unique monsters/creatures. really love the movie tbh.
positive · AI labelView post →n(e)w: “Arcadian” While Dobbs horror’s got the bulk of the attention this year, “MadS” and “Azrael” and this flick aren’t shying away from grungy apocalypse.
neutral · AI labelView post →I'm nearly at the 50 mark for Cage films seen (and would have got there if the cinemas had been braver with Dream Scenario and The Arcadian) but it can be tricky judging his films. However, I am making a list of his films from the wildest to the most mundane so I'm going with that. My top of the pops is Mandy as it feels like it was designed just for me but it isn't the kind of film you can just jump into, you need to build up to it. For hidden gem I'm going with the biggest difference…

That snappy head thing they do? Weird and terrifying, I loved it lol. Cool movie 👍 #Horror #HorrorMovies #HorrorCommunity #HorrorSky
positive · AI labelView post →The creatures in Arcadian were really freaking disturbing! 😱🏆 (Hats off to the design team. The only movie monster that has creeped me out more [remotely recently] was the bear in Annihilation.)
positive · AI labelView post →After watching the 28 Years Later trailer, I gave Arcadian a shot to scratch my dystopian itch. The creatures were unique and nothing felt stupid or contrived. If you’re into this kind of story, it’s a GOOD one!

unlabelledView post →Not my favorite, but a recent gem I really enjoyed were these monsters from Arcadian(2024). The way they move and appear in the film is very effective, not just the design. Very worth a watch, especially if you love a monster.
unlabelledView post →Tonight's first film: Arcadian (2024) The second Cage horror film this year. Following an apocalyptic event, a man raises two babies he found into teenagers. More of a drama for part of it, but it wins for monsters I can only describe as "Bloodborne-esque". #31DaysofHorror
unlabelledView post →Caught Arcadian on Shudder finally. It's fine for what it is, but that is not predominantly a horror movie. The horror parts are pretty neat but there's not enough of 'em. Good creatures, though. I suspect this is all a me thing. There's lots of this stuff that I'm just fine with but not excited by

unlabelledView post →Speaking of Nicholas Cage, Arcadian is a cool post-apocalyptic horror movie I almost slept on It’s beautifully shot, lean, wonderfully acted, has a great soundtrack, and the monsters in it were literally inspired by GOOFY And they’re scary as fuck, I’m just saying

unlabelledView post →Arcadian ⭐️ Hmm…I like me a low key movie, but blimey. With its plot if you could call it one was pointless. Shaky camera doesn’t mean good, The creatures looked like something a kid had done in a Blue Peter competition. I think there was a moment where one ate some woman whole…but who knows.
unlabelledView post →I saw The Arcadian on #hulu. The first half had pacing issues. I enjoyed the commercials more than the movie during the slow-paced start. Acting was top-notch. Creatures were interesting, but sometimes the lighting was so dark that I couldn't see them. The 2nd half somewhat redeemed the movie. 3/5
unlabelledView post →I liked the monster design in Arcadian (2024) yes it really is inspire by the Disney character Goofy. It's interesting design anyway. Sometimes silly in a way that doesn't feel like it's in the same movie as the family drama, like when they travel in a big cartwheel. Pretty good performances,

unlabelledView post →Watched #Arcadian (2024). Interesting creature design and decent cinematography. But bad writing, annoying shaky cam, bad acting and awful dialogue are way too much for a sleepy Nice Cage to overcome. Not good. 4.5 stars out of 10 #HorrorSky www.justwatch.com/us/movie/arc...
unlabelledView post →I just watched Arcadian on hulu and gotta say it's a really solid horror film. The monsters were terrifyingly original. Loved it!
unlabelledView post →Just watched Arcadian. Interesting Post-apoc/horror movie. Nic Cage doesn't get that much screen time, but it's still one of his solid recent roles. Also the monsters in this are kind of whack?

unlabelledView post →Film 234, 2024. Arcadian (2024). Post-apokalyptisk horror-drama. Fin liten film, som bruker lite tid på hva som har skjedd. Kunne nesten vært en episode i en Last of Us-aktig serie. Nicolas Cage god i en bi-rolle, men Jaeden Martell sammen med de andre ungdommene bærer filmen.
unlabelledView post →I really enjoyed the movie 'Arcadian' 2024, but honestly the monsters were super weird with no explanation and I just read they were inspired by 'Goofy' the Disney character. I dunno, that's a weird fucking inspiration for a monster.🫤 Don't really buy it, but the story and acting saves the film.
unlabelledView post →huge shoutout to the 2024 movie Arcadian (featuring a weathered Nicolas Cage) for having one of *the coolest* monster designs I've seen in a movie in a long long while, I'm still thinking about them like a week after watching it.
unlabelledView post →Finally got around to seeing Arcadian and I really enjoyed it! Feels like a clean and straightforward horror movie with some creative monster designs, well thought out world, and effective setup/payoffs. Even if the CGI doesn't quite live up to the idea from time to time. Strong recommend.
unlabelledView post →OK so we’re watching ARCADIAN, this Nick Cafe weird post-apocalyptic monster sci-fi movie and it’s really good?
unlabelledView post →Is Nicolas Cage going to be unconscious for the rest of this movie?!? Because, I mean, fantastic troll move 😆 I would be IMPRESSED #Arcadian #FrightClub
unlabelledView post →Holy shit! Just watched the Nic Cage horror movie Arcadian, and yeah! That monster design was upsetting. I loved it! I heard @slimyswampghost.bsky.social talking about it and I can see why. Horribly undefinable and perversely alien in their design. Great stuff!
unlabelledView post →I just watched Arcadian. It's a weird movie, but not really in the normal way. It's a good movie script with good to decent acting. And the dialogue works well enough. But it is edited poorly. Things are unnecessarily confusing and the creatures powers seem to change depending on the plot. The creature design was excellent in my opinion. They didn't just look like a guy in a suit or your standard CGI monster. They felt 'real' for the most part.
unlabelledView post →I don't know that Arcadian is a great movie, but it's great to see such original monsters.
