It takes the concept seriously, the actors are committed, and the whole thing turns out a lot deeper and more meaningful than I expected. I loved it.

negative · AI labelView post →Now watching Out of Darkness (2022), about a band of Stone Age travellers searching for a new land, but begin to work they are being stalked by something g malevolent. All the actors are speaking Tola, an invented language for the film 📽️ #filmsky #horrorsky
neutral · AI labelView post →Out of Darkness is good if you go into it not expecting a horror film but instead an example of stone age life where you fear and have to survive anything and everything. Just living is dangerous. It's streaming on Paramount+. I got a 7 day trial to watch it.
positive · AI labelView post →Just finished Out of Darkness (2022) It was meh, not great. Had so much potential and just kind of fell flat So few movies are set in prehistory, and even fewer are horror Pacing was bad, annoying 'humans are the real monsters' trope, and too short for the story it tried to tell 4/10
negative · AI labelView post →Seated for OUT OF DARKNESS because it's (a) a horror movie (b) under 90 minutes (c) in a made-up language

neutral · AI labelView post →The Zone of Interest: I want to force a lot of people to see this. Was late to the party here too. Out of Darkness: Paleolithic horror where I appreciated it for the vibes and premise alone. It's not an incredible movie but I want to see more shit like this.

positive · AI labelView post →The only other new movie I saw this week is "Out of Darkness" (in theaters), a smartly constructed thriller about Stone Age hunter-gatherers fending off something out there in the dark. Effective chills and a simplistic moral. 2/3

neutral · AI labelView post →Tonight's movie: Out of Darkness (2022). It's about a Paleolithic band of travelers, all looking for a better life. No idea as to what to expect.
neutral · AI labelView post →Paradise (2024) Out of Darkness (2022) Savageland (2015) Paradise was a slick flick that didn't get enough attention in my opinion. Out of Darkness was a clever stone age horror movie with a heartbreaking ending. Savageland is a surprisingly inventive and effective found footage once it gets going.

neutral · AI labelView post →Scary Movie #30: Out of Darkness Is this a caveman horror movie? Yes, this is a caveman horror movie. Like, you know what's creepy when you're wandering around a strange land living outdoors? Everything. Man it's okay, but it really hammers in on the nose.

neutral · AI labelView post →I don’t know that it’s a movie for horror movie people (I’m not a horror movie person), but if you enjoy reading and thinking about Paleolithic humans, “Out of Darkness” is fantastic. 10/10, please go see so we can talk about it www.nytimes.com/2024/02/08/m...

unlabelledView post →The Origin, a caveman-era survival horror film I saw at Fantastic Fest, is changing its name to Out of Darkness. I think this new title is a mistake. Are they saying that darkness is finite, and there's not much left? Or that the characters leave darkness for light? Unclear.

unlabelledView post →Out of Darkness ⭐️⭐️1/2 "The movie is refreshingly unique with its approach to horror, using the genre's fear of the unknown as an allegory for alienation via xenophobia. I just can't escape the feeling that it's only halfway there. Most of the elements feel correct, but they also feel anemic."

unlabelledView post →Just watched "Out Of Darkness." Its good! A solid horror film. The visuals were eerie, and I loved the Neolithic setting. All the dialogue done in a conlang- tho honestly even if there was no dialogue the film could still tell the same story with visuals alone.
