Well you shouldn’t play this game. For everyone else it’s a pretty good time. @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Aragami is one of those games that really commits to stealth, and that’s honestly its biggest strength. Instead of giving you the option to go loud, it basically forces you to think, plan, and move carefully through shadows. The shadow powers, like teleporting between dark spots, feel super satisfying and give you a lot of freedom in how you approach each level. - Visually, the game also stands out. It has this clean, stylized look with strong contrasts between light and darkness, which fits…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finished my last game for the year: Aragami. Base game + DLC. I enjoyed Nightfall a lot, reminds me of Shadow Tactics: ninjas with a mission. Also reminiscent of SW Rogue One with the whole suicidal mission thing 🙂
unlabelledView post →The thumbs down is conditional. It is because the game uses checkpoints instead of allowing you to save. That means you can almost clear a map before dying and have to do it all over again. It's difficult to stress how much I hate that. I really, really hate that. I don't know why any developer would choose that route. If I had known that previous to buying it I probably wouldn't have. With that said, if the idea of checkpoints doesn't bother you, and you like stealth games, then I…

unlabelledView post →Aragami. Some games impress you. Some games entertain you. And some games teach you how to actually play them. Aragami is that last one. At first, it looks like a stylish indie stealth game: ninjas, shadows, teleportation. Cool aesthetics, interesting concept. But the more time you spend with it, the clearer it becomes that Aragami is doing something rarer than style: it fully commits to stealth as its core identity, not just a playstyle option. It’s not perfect. It’s rough around the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Disclaimer: I measure my enjoyment of a stealth game by how much it allows me to go undetected with as little contact with the enemies as possible, however I will consider other playstyles as well. Visually this game is dated, but the architecture and general environments I do consider to be iconic. It is clearly feudal Japan inspired, but has just enough uniqueness to it in it's colours and shapes, that you will remember it as Aragami. Mechanically although i can be janky at times, the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While Aragami had a lot of fun ideas, it could have used a little bit more polish around the edges. Many of the abilities aren’t balanced well, and the enemy placements seem lazy. There’s 13 mediocre chapters, and perhaps it would be better with 6 ones that had a lot more thought and care put into them. The story isn't really interesting, and there’s nothing super unique about this game art direction wise. There’s a scoring system, which is meant to encourage repeating levels, but each level is…

unlabelledView post →Oh how much I enjoyed that first hour with 'Aragami'. I loved the music, the atmosphere and the stealth. It was reminding me of multiple different games (a little bit of Metal Gear, a sprinkling of Shadow Tactics, a bit of Thief). I also love the premise. It's fun playing as someone else's summon. There are a million RPG's where conjuration magic is a thing and I've often wondered what it'd be like to play as the summon rather than as the main character. Basically, a girl summons you to break…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a cool stealth game with good level design as well as a good level of challenge. It feels like the shadow step is a bit finnicky at times but that might just me being me. The art style and character design is cool. Definitely worth getting. I don't know why it took me so long to finally get to playing this but I'm glad I did.

Excellent for co-op, sadly custom missions does not seem to work with multiplayer. RIP Lince Works, too pure for a Highguard-world.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The context for the existence of Revenants in the first game is that the Aragami outbreak (referred to as "horrors" at the time) was happening, and turning humans into undying Revenants were one such attempt at a solution. In Code Vein 2? I'm pretty sure Revenants just...exist for no reason.

unlabelledView post →Decent stealth with interesting mechanics, cool art style and music. The setting is Asia-inspired, reminds me Avatar: The Last Airbender. Interesting lore and story, especially loved the ending. The gameplay is mostly warping by the shadows to move around and avoid/kill enemies, which is pretty non-typical. Also, there are plenty of useful active skills and some of them are quite overpowered. Since they're all locked from the start and tied to collectible scrolls, first few chapters are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun game that lets you play full stealth or full rampage as well :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Aragami has a fairly good start but quickly flounders due to boring and repetitive level design, predictable writing, simplistic enemy behavior, terribly designed boss fights, and failing to capitalize on its sole unique game mechanic. The game also has a notable list of technical issues ranging from annoying but mostly benign, like inconsistent detection for certain special kills, to gameplay interfering, like a regular stutter that can mess up input timing and a weirdly short draw distance…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Who knew before this that a NINJA game would have my heart? I'm all for fairies, elves and royalties, and I never knew that I had space for one Ninja! I'm really bad at stealth. Like really bad. But this game changed that and gave me patience which I never knew was possible. It's either you learn patience and WAIT, or you die. It's not like games where stealth is optional, and when you lose patience you go and unleash chaos. In this game you have to be patience, strategic and really be mindful…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a nice game, good look even if 10 years old, good story. a pure stealth game, with a few challenges here and there. worth 10 hours of time for a few quid.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very enjoyable ninja stealth game. It made a respectable effort into the genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun and challenging game. It's a shame that the studio closed a bit ago.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A stealth game that actually respects stealth. If you miss the days of Tenchu: Stealth Assassins, when being unseen mattered more than body counts or combo meters, Aragami is your homecoming. This isn’t a flashy, hand-holding “stealth-lite” experience — it’s slow, deliberate, and incredibly satisfying. You study patrols, shape shadows, and move like smoke. Every mistake feels earned, and every perfect run feels earned twice. What I love most is that the game lets you choose your code: ghost…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm pretty sure this runs pretty well in Xenia these days. Alternately, Aragami 2 is like, a perfect indie sequel to Tenchu Z. I'm playing through that now with the same friend and I'm madly in love with that game.
unlabelledView post →A game designed for stealth. Don't mess with the enemies - the main character can't fight openly
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's the closest thing to Tenchu we ever got on PC. Far better than the second game, which tried to copy Sekiro really hard, but not in a good way. The original Aragami is a proper stealth game. Short and a bit basic, but very well made and a lot of fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you enjoy the save scumming style of stealth gameplay, Aragami may not be the game for you. I usually appreciate checkpoint-based saves as a challenge mode, but unlike Dishonored, Styx, or Thief, there’s no opportunity for save scumming in Aragami on other difficulties. While many players see this as a positive, I find that save scumming can even be used for practice similar to playing Hitman: Blood Money on easy mode, or experimenting in the non-challenge mode of the Hitman trilogy and most…

There is a TON of missions that, while yes they reuse some areas, is filled with great stealth combat with friends. It's on sale on Steam for 7 bucks and totally worth it

unlabelledView post →Platinum #40! Aragami 2 bought this game years ago but never played it, it’s not bad at all decent stealth game but really repetitive towards the end but all in all an enjoyable experience. Late post because I forgot to lol
unlabelledView post →An elite stealth game that was definitely ahead of its time. It's super cheap from the autumn sale so if you wanna play a new stealth game, this is it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →⭐⭐⭐/ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ a little bit of a mixed bag. I can recommend it and I like it, but you should treat it with the knowledge of how limited it is in its stealth mechanics. If in the right condition it can be really addictive in its gameplay, the problem for me lies in the type of stealth it wants to be. At least personally, I felt like in the base game (not in the DLC) the instruments were just an afterthought and not really integral to the resolution of the level, and in the end, the game devolved…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →New schedule for the week is up! Starting off on Monday at 11am with Aragami challenge runs! Really enjoyed this game when I first played it years ago
unlabelledView post →Overall not a bad stealth game. The whole shadow jumping is a cool and refershing feature, HOWEVER, the game is flawed. I'm not talking about the choppy jumping or getting stuck on creeks and bushes (often forcing you to restart the checkpoint) but it is a bit repetetive, story isn't good, voice over isn't good and the overall performance was not good. Think mark of the ninja meets splintercell, but taking mostly the bad things out of each. Don't know if I'll return to it.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An incredible stealth assassin game where you feel like a true assassin/ninja. The shadow mechanics are beautiful. The story-telling is also wonderful. The mechanics are relatively simple but can be a challenge to master. Aragami is a masterpiece. Worth the full $20, a steal when discounted. I played and beat this on Nintendo Switch, but the graphics are terrible (of course). Steam Deck/PC is a much smoother and enjoyable experience. Same goes for Aragami 2
