Currently PC can only play in lower, blurrier, resolutions--no modern support such as 1920x1080. They thought about putting this update out this and last year but aren't getting around to it. The UDX update would also add the new Dreadnought mode.

I might be an unfair judge, because Defender is one of my favorite arcade games of all time, but Aqua Kitty adds very little worth mentioning except for a cute aesthetic. It's not a bad game at all - just don't go in expecting an interesting twist or anything. Just a solid gameplay experience that has been proven fun since the 80's.

It's challenging, even on easy, but by no means unbeatable. Luckily it runs smooth on Linux ;D Apparently there is some weird dependency on some old Windows MediaPlayer libraries that are not available for Windows 8 and newer. As for the game, it has good music and sound effects, the graphics are looking good and it's really challenging.

Aqua Kitty solves this problem quite elegantly with his 8bits graphics and adds a touch of gameplay with power ups. All and all a very good and fun shmup which is a steal in sales period.

Playing in Co-Op is so much fun the chaos is endless. But be wary this game is really hard in normal mode. You need to cherish those hearts and milk kitties because in one swoop they can go away.
